They've have to be told about it in order to know about it.
It'd be interesting to know if they obtained a warrant first, or whether they just put the door in. Either way, the intelligence received will be crucial to any case against them. I'm guessing that it didn't say "two tone" or anything similar. And it's not like the witness is going to stick his face to the window and shout "Oi, is that real?"
I would argue they don't need to know about airsoft guns to to be able to identify it's not a "real" gun. Like saying only a doctor can detect a mannequin isn't a living human being. The doctor probably doesn't know how to build a mannequin or lube it........
Now it would be nice if they could be as sad as us and pick out the high cap winding wheel on the mag at 20 feet away but as it stands I am happy for police to treat them as real guns until they can closely inspect them with the suspect detained. It will unfortunately result in someone getting shot eventually over a toy as if you point it at an officer I wouldn't expect them to know it's not real in a life or death situation but is it really going to be the polices fault?
20 minutes ago, Rogerborg said:But it does illustrate that folk just don't think about the consequences of their actions, or how our "toys" can be perceived by others.
Everyone with a brain should treat a RIF or IF as if it were the real deal outside of airsoft game days. Being caught with it in public certainly you get treated and prosecuted as such. I think people in the airsoft community generally have a good respect for them and the issues / news articles we see are the "plinkers" we see loads of posts asking what is the best "plinker" how do they upgrade it to take METAL balls etc etc. All of these people are a big problem and shouldn't be using airsoft guns for this as because they know it's not "real" they get too relaxed with them.

Ugh yes obviously it's a race issue here. They would of just sent a polite letter asking if it was a real or fake gun if it was a white family. I am fed up of everything being a race issue. This seems an entirely proportionate response to a firearms call in. If people want RIFs and IFs they need to not be stupid with them or expect this to happen to you. Kid had the gun in view of the public which should never happen and is why kids shouldn't be allowed them. Parents fault not the kids as it sounds like they knew he had it from the article. People act like the police were just raiding the house for fun they did their job. My dad was very clear with me when I was a kid about an air pistol. Where I could take it. What I could shoot you can also bet I was a kid and didn't follow it exactly so he dismantled it and put it in a draw.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
As for the police not knowing what two tone is. I bet a lot don't and have no idea what airsoft is either and that is fine with me as I won't be running around a shopping centre with my two tone assault rifle screaming "IT'S ONLY A TOY" as that is asking for a Darwin award.

They are obliged by law to accept anything up to and including laptop and hand-held vacuum cleaner batteries with chemistry and energies of the order of airsoft batteries:
https://www.gov.uk/battery-waste-supplier-reponsibilities
If they choose to have a overflowing thin plastic bin of volatile chemicals sitting right by their main exit, that's between them and the HSE.
Any shop? Ann summers chucked me out!

eh, either or. xt60 isn't a bad connector for sure, put simply anything's better than pretending we're still running NICAD's in the 80's.
When I built a racing quad it was XT60 I used but it's slighty bigger than a deans so could cause fitment issues inside guns over deans. I don't like deans because the exposed connectors always give me the fear.

I guess I am expecting people to be commenting that my gun is blue and that I am wearing normal clothes.
If anything it attracts the right people to you as they will see you are new and try to help you out.
I had a lot more people make idle chit chat when I was in jeans and a tshirt then I get now. Hell it took a while for Roger to realise it was me after I put camo on.
Equally just because someone is in camo don't assume they know what they are doing. We had a guy at my site who would love to play soldier and boss people about. If someone wants you to push a direction consider why they aren't doing it themselves if it's such a good idea. There is a fine line between helping a new player and using them as bait. If they are gathering a group up to do something probably fine to follow along. I've spent games defending with hehaw to do and then spent games just roaming for kills.

How are they for pulling down when loaded up?
I have never had any issues but I don't overload it pretty standard loadout. Trousers stay up belt stays attached. I use 2 pisol mags, holster, dump pouch and my trmr. I have a chest rig for my radio, and rifle magazines.
My friend only runs this belt and he has his odin speedload, 4 AEG m4 mags, 2 gas pistol mags and a multishot trmr. His holster is drop leg so can't really count that as pulling on it. They sell shoulder straps which if you wanted to really load a belt up with no other load bearing you should be using but he hasn't got them yet and hasn't had an issue.
37 minutes ago, L3wisD said:Mine was very cheap (£20!). And I'm really happy with mine.
It doesn't have the MOLLE all the way round to the front on one side though as you can see where my USP is. But, it puts the holster at a good "3 o'clock" on my hip, and I wouldn't put pouches in front of it anyway.
What size did you order and roughly if you don't mind me asking whats your dress size? The one from FRV seems to have sizing more bespoke but for that price I agree you don't molle that part up as that is where my rifle sits when slung. If this was out when I ordered my belt I would of give it a go for sure.

I love inner/outer belts as they don't ride up but they aren't cheap but they are sturdy.

I fancied trying something lower profile than my Dye i4s
Hmmm the reason I can't be arsed trying anything else is because my dye is so good. But Roger is right ventalation is the only way to go if you want to use something else.
The inherint problem with low profile eye protection is less air between your eyes and the lenses.

I get very anxious about all sorts of things that I know I shouldn't but that doesn't help. I was lucky that I knew a few people that played and they just kept my right on my first day. After that first day however they don't play very often and I wanted more so I went on my own. I've met 3 or 4 people from this forum at my local site now and played with and against them ( how many TRMRs does one man need?!?). They are all very nice and helpful.
Just show up early watch where people go and do the same. Listen to what site staff say they will keep you right. If your unsure about something just ask them for clarrification instead of getting anxious about it. Same goes for any worries in your head right now just email the site if you have any questions or worries and they will probably clear them up for you. It's not like a school where people are trying to make fun of each other to put people down. Everyone is there to shoot at each other and will shoot you the same in camo or a superhero costume.
If you are worried about your gun failing you just spend the extra get a rental package so you have a backup to use should yours not perform on the day. There is a rule that 1 is none and 2 is 1 but most airsofters think they need a full armoury. If you do this and you have any issues with the rental gun speak to a marshal if they don't resolve it ask to speak to the head marashall. You paid for a working rental gun and your expereince will very much be effected by something jamming or not feeding. You just need to be logical about the cause for the aniexty and try to even write them down. The more you understand them the more you can do to resolve them. So if your worried about what your are wearing then me telling you no one cares isn't going to help much but you could get some surplus kit and "blend in". It won't make a difference to what people think but if it helps you then there is no harm. Don't spend too much on this kit despite what people say you will still rip it on a fence or tree branch or something eventually so don't spend crazy money.
Another thing to keep in mind is that while not everyone says they have aniexty almost everyone does so there is no shame in it. Often you find people who appear to have none have the most.

You can show up with friends but you will lose each other pretty quickly. I've been on my own and I organise days for people to go. I would never go to not my local on my own just because I cba travelling far without someone in the car to talk to.
It shouldn't be a factor to going and playing. I just tell people I know who play if I have booked to go on a date sometimes I end up alone but it's still fun.
For being a sniper as a beginner most of the decent fields won't even let you snipe as a first timer to their field let alone first timer to airsoft. You have a lot more responsibility with a minimum engagement to worry about.

Here is the real secret we all look silly because we are playing with toy guns and dressing up and all we get at the end of it is looking like we were in a horny ladies bingo night.

I strongly suspect the main reason folk do it is just for an excuse to shoot off a bunch of what are usually tracer BBs.
This one asain guy did it to me. I call hit as he did hit me (many times) and wait for a medic but then he peaks out the same bit of cover and does the same thing hits me again with like another 3-4 bbs. I yell at him to try aiming, he yells back he is.... He does it again I yell something else but I forget I'm pretty pissed off at this point with like about 10 new welts on me. Then I see a team mate creeping up on him but his friend (who is already dead) whispers to him that he is being flanked. I've had enough at this point torch on run up get their numbers and report them both for over shooting and talking while dead to probably the scariest marshal apart from big boss himself.
He was just poping out and covering an arc with bbs then going back in cover repeatedly. Must of been 20-30 bbs each time. -

So you haven't tried it yet and you want to mod it!?
The gun is designed to run 11.1v
That will most definitely make trigger response as fast as you need in combination with the shortstroke trigger!
17 hours ago, Gibbolicious said:Ok great, well I think it seems wise to just leave it as it is.
Many thanks all
ASG warrenty says to use an 11.1v batter it needs to shoot over 1J. To get it to over 1j you need the mil spec m95 spring and the ball bearing spring guide. You void warrent if your gun in shooting under 1j with an 11.1v lipo. I think you might get a little bit of benifit form a deans over tamiya connector.

As much as I agree with everyone telling you to leave it stock. If you really want it to be better look in to this third party mosfet. It's pretty new so I don't know much about it and I wouldn't fit it to my evo as I'm a shite bag.

So far I've nearly bought an MWS and MP7 GBB. Got a real hankering for another GBBR for CQB.
Also looking at an Evo BET for an outdoor setup for possibly returning to my old woodland site, where I've not been in 4 years. Only played woodland once in that time, about a year ago. I much prefer CQB, but getting back to woodland would give me a better chance of getting to play more often.
Good to see you about,
The issue I find with GBB is magazine capacity and not because of general play but when you come against a Neo there's only 2 ways to take them out. Make them feel the pain or get close enough to grenade. The amount of mag dumps I've done with my hi-capa on people.
There is a 2020 evo version with updated electrionics and you can get it in grey or FDE as well. I've been tempted to get a carbine version myself instead of an M4.

That was the first thing that occurred to me when "headshots don't count" was floated. That would make you essentially invincible in many CQB situations, plus what is your opposition meant to do?
Laughs in dye i5.
21 hours ago, Rogerborg said:I was surprised to discover some sites don't do this. I guess it's not quite as important in woodland where you've got a general idea that the enemy is over yonder. In a maze-like CQB though, milliseconds count. Heck, I'd like to see upper arms, wrists and headbands.
But untaped, urgh, no, just no.
Section 8 do it well. Red team right arm blue team left arm. See one arm of the player? You should be able to figure out if he is friend of foe. I plan on getting some coloured patches for the back of my chest rig as if the enemy is behind me I'm probably already fucked but I'd like to cut down on my team shooting me when I am attacking the enemy.
But on topic for me exluding the obvious hit dodging bastards:
Pre firing every fucking corner you go around. It's as bad as blind firing you aquire target then shoot not shoot then look what you are shooting at.
The whallopers who think they are hitting you because they are John Wick but actually their gun has been misfeeding and nothings coming out or their high cap needs wound or some shit. I've had a marshal called on me for not taking a hit before and I was like eh i'm in a t-shirt pal I would of felt it (I took a respawn to make him feel better but consistently that player and his UMP45 never fires a fucking thing at me and moans).

I went with the acetech lighter bt as it's also a chrono so if you don't have one of those yet it's handy and it does 11mm and 14mm ccw. While laser bbs look awesome I found I was only giving my position away and it only frustrated me when I could clearly see my bbs land sometimes multiple back to back and the guy still doesn't take a hit. So I stopped using it and have just been lending it out to my friends getting in to the hobby so they can try one out without spending the extra. The ammo costs a significant amount more as well so it ups the running cost.

Welcome back. Did you have a game booked at Depot before things went sideways? I did and they offered a refund but I took a voucher instead and they are giving people a few days VIP booking with the vouchers before the rif raff public can book so I should be able to attend the first game back.

Especially at Section 8 where Scout mostly films. It's fairly flat with sparse trees and little ground cover. Heck, I'm surprised you don't see more folk just lobbing hi-caps full of BBs downrange.
I went when I only had 4 mags for my evo and in 1 life I had to reload them all twice in a trench and I used 0 full auto to try to conserve ammo.
Met Police Don't Seem to Know What a Two Tone Is.

It's exactly why police need to be able to shoot someone with a RIF doing a stupid thing. Sure it might be 100% yellow but it should never be in public view let alone in your hands pointed at someone outside of an airsoft game. Stupid prizes is the only way to allow people to own them and also keep people safe.
Yea and I think they handled this situation as best they could. I don't think the law in this instance needed changed unless it could of prevented the kid from having a IF in the first place.
Yea you are right they didn't commit any crimes at all but maybe that is a problem? It's tough because you can always argue private properly to public viability isn't under your control. But I shut my blinds before I clean my RIFs. Should I have to? You are right that the police should be commended for doing a routine check and not blowing it up to be anything more than that. I don't think the kid should of had one in the first place maybe if he was allowed to use it supervised and it was locked away like a real gun at other times. The full blame for this goes on the mother but perhaps even IFs should be harder to get a hold of to prevent this type of thing.
The real question is was he wearing eye protection?
It frustrates me even going to to lock down seeing people saying they wanted to find a way around ukara to get their RIF. I have no idea why mine have been an absolute waste of space and money for me over the past 4 months because I can't use them for anything.
I just think people need to treat mannequins with a bit more love and care they have feelings too.
