Can’t even begin to explain how flawed that video is or their understanding of how anything works. Only thing it’s confirmed for me is it’s not just kwa GBBR’s that are shit. Their aeg’s Stop working too
He installs a titan in every damn gun he has so hard to blame the manufacturer for a customer tweaking with it, not defending the brand either I have no experience with it. There testing is not an exact science but at least they are using UK legal kit so you can draw some conclusions from their results that can help learn some things but there just shooting and looking where a bb lands is ludicrous. Seems to me run what ever weight your hopup doesn't sap the joules off as long as it feeds in the gun. Once you start losing joules it's not worth it.

That’s like dog years, right? 7 times the actual amount.
70 meters every time right between the eyes. Or 70m maximum with upgraded components and heavy ammo.

On JD Bay, the seller has split the package...
1 is now £375, the other £350...

Really don't understand the used airsoft market. People watch storage wars and think they can flip everything.

Specna Arms Mk.18 - around £160 delivered from GunFire.
Army Armament's L85 - around £150?!
Two £50 pistols, a case and some magazines is what, £150 tops?!
So a very generous £400 or so.
But this guy wants £700, but hey, postage is included...
uh duh it's brand new "specna arms mk18 (brand new in box)"
it's 700+paypal fees.

I have paid import taxes from HK, rainbow 8 included as have many others here... Only on things above a certain value.
I paid a ludicrous amount of import fees for my Prowin mags but it still worked out cheaper than buying them from the UK.
It's not priced more than new... You seem to still be overlooking the fact that it comes with an extra mag and a holster.
A mag, new is in the £20-30 range and the holster is too... In used terms that still about £30 more for both.
And while it's technically not new, the fact still remains, if I didn't want to wait for a UK/EU restock and I wanted one... I would consider it and so would many others. Things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. Which is why selling on eBay is so successful.
Edit: it should also be noted, I am not intentionally defending the seller, but I do feel that in this particular instance, point the finger and making fun is a little unfair.
I think the price isn't crazy but I wouldn't pay it for used equipment. I'd rather pay the difference and get a new one and this instance as it's not much extra and I could get the extended mags if I wanted. Problem with bundles is unless someone wants that mag and that holster with THAT gun it's not a good deal he needs to part it out or lower the price a bit to make it attractive to people looking for 2 out of 3 i.e the holster and gun or mag and gun.

That worked out well for you ! 🤦♂️
Sorry bud couldn’t resist ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂👍

I packed it up and posted it off last night to get it out of my sight! One thing I noticed is the box it ships in is awful it's not tied down in anyway to the box so it just rattled around in there.
At least I wasn't going to use it this week /weekend still hope for next weekend getting it back better than ever.

As for fine when the gears are upgraded that is a joke on a £300+ gun. Ultimate gears are crap though so not much of an upgrade. I would insist on a replacement and if that dies get a refund and buy something you can trust.
40 minutes ago, ryaw said:I honestly can't recall what gears were put in mine, but probably steel Ultimates. I'd personally advise that you get it upgraded and stick with it. It'll be the only AEG you'll ever need and it's certainly the only one I've had for years now. Excellent indoors and out.
I agree with both points it's a bit of a joke for such an expensive gun but piece of mind would do me wonders and I am pretty picky about guns. I like stop on empty and SMGs so I don't have a huge choice to pick from. If I can work out some discount I might go for a set of decent gears in there as I have done a lot of reading before buying it and this is the only fault people mention that really lets it down.
The retailer have said they will email me a label and arrange collection so far. Will do a full review on the appropriate thread when I get to the end of the line with the retailer as they have been speedy and informative responses so far.

Can you switch it between regular metres and airsoft metres?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo! Aw, that's awful, you buy an EVO to avoid that sort of tosh.
You might try asking Ryan / Silver Fox if he's got any ideas. Worst case, I should have a spare something or other on the 14th.
Yea I can't believe how stupid I was to book the 14th as I had this in the back of my head.
24 minutes ago, ryaw said:As advised in the Evo Owner's Group, contact JD today. They'll replace it or repair it under warranty. Just make sure that you were using the recommended power of battery, or it could invalidate your warranty. Almost every Evo suffers from weak gears, but once upgraded, they're fantastic and reliable. My gen.1 first batch Evo shat its gearbox a few months into ownership. I had it repaired by Landwarrior, but paid to have it upgraded at the same time and I've had no issues with it since and that was years ago. Best AEG I've ever owned in 10 years, Marui's included.
Yea I was hoping it was anything but the gears. I put the mil spec spring and ball bearing spring guide in and ran it on 11.1v only so that's not an issue as thats what is required. It does say it recommends minimum weight of 0.25g but it has the same issue dry firing as well as with my asg blaster 0.20gs. Was it just ultimate gears you had added?
Check out the box it arrived in

Urgh that sounds so frustrating. Hope they get it sorted quick for you if you send it back.
Seems like the problem is mechanical so I have emailed the retailer (jdairsoft). I hope so too I booked a game for the 14th as bring my own kit. It's literally my worst case scenario.
Heres a video of the horrific noise it makes when I get to fire it after inserting a battery.

Is your battery OK? Sounds like the circuit/battery protection is kicking in
My imax charges both of them without issue not sure of any other way to test them. Been at a storage charge since the day I got them until now.

What's wrong with it?
fires once after connecting battery then 2 beeps and a red light in mag well. If I disconnect and reconnect battery I can fire it once more then 2 beeps and the red light returns.

From a retailer? Just use it
Private? Run through the fire selector, check range, check power, check grouping.
Retailer,
I just don't want to pay for a game day and end up with a non functional gun if I could of done a few tests to at least confirm it's working to an acceptable level on delivery.

Buying my first AEG is there a good checklist to go through to make sure it's working 100% and I didn't get a Friday gun?

Good enough for government work.
Well, after railing against both SWAT, and buying used, I ignored my own sage advice and gambled on not one but two used SWAT VTGs via PreFired.
Winner, winner, fraggy dinner: they arrived as described, literally mint (in the sense of being unused and green), and cost the grand total of £90 for both, delivered. That's me up to 1 tri-shot TRMR and 3 x timed VTGs: as God is my witness, I'll never walk round a corner again without fragging it first.
6 corners per respawn?

ASG make the CZ Bren too. If it had stop on empty I'd be tempted. Same with their new gun the ASG Hera Arms CQR feel like they are regressing in features

I managed to convince a shop to do a sale on the EVO to compete with another retail who was a bit cheaper. You can get it delivered free to a UPS Access Point for £324.99
They even sell the smoky magazines( you can put picture inserts in these), spring guide and mil spec m95 spring to run it on an 11.1v.

Just an interesting spin on the evo I am purchasing was talking to jdairsoft team about getting it a bit cheaper from them and they gave solid advice in their reply. I already knew this as I had done my research but it's nice to see unprompted advice coming out of a retailer to help with battery decisions.
Quoteif you are considering using a 11.1v lipo battery you would need to purchase the Upgraded spring guide with the M95 spring to make it warranty proof. Evo Spring Guide. And the bonus is we have it all in stock!

Sorry chargers are not a valid reason, I've been using one of these since switching to lipos 7 or so years ago and it's worked perfectly:
Might not have a digital display but it charges, balances at the same time, cannot over-charge etc etc - cheap, reliable, zero learning required just straight plug and play and fool proof.
Wonder why all the advice I see on the internet pushes the beefy chargers used for RC equipment.

Literally just buy 7.4v LiPos, they're what everyone and their dog uses and has been using for yeeeeears. How those did not come up in conversation at the store I seriously seriously cannot get my head around, smacks of a shop palming off undesirable stock frankly. 7.4s (very roughly speaking) have the same sort of overall output as 9.6 NiMh, except they're far smaller, far lighter, can be charged far quicker, have a far more consistent power output over the duration of the stored charge and don't need anything like the maintenance in terms of long discharge cycles for storage.
If you can't return what you've bought then fair enough it is what it is, but speaking generally to all readers here, buying NiMh now is like buying DVDs.. maybe VHS tapes.
NiMhs are preferred for entry level people because they don't need to spend the earth on a smart charger and learn how to use it. Plug and play so to speak. I agree with you it's crazy people still buy them but because it's not something visual someone can see on your gun like an ACOG or tracer unit they just want something to plug in and make it pew and forget about. Considering you are £35 quid for a smart charger that is often 1/4 the cost of peoples entry level guns + they need to learn how to use it which is definitely daunting for someone new.
