It's OEM'd by A&K so it's their gearbox. As you say though there are no internal mosfets but you can get external ones that are programmable to give semi on initial trigger pull then auto after a short dwell. I used to use a Burst Wizard on mine for that very reason. Thing is though that apart from the (frankly rubbish) "lightweight" models an M249 (even the para version) is hugely impractical for a CQB setting purely down to the size and weight of it.

From the video it looks a clone of the CAM249 gearbox (PGC style). I think your mosfet options would be limited to external ones, so any semi would be timing based rather than detection of gear rotation. As far as I know, nobody makes an internal GB mosfet for the 249, but happy to learn otherwise.

Alternatively you could look at either the G&P M249 or the FN Herstal licenced versions which I believe both use V2 gearboxes - that would then open up your mosfet options to Titans, BTC Spectre, etc.

Or, even easier, just get a pistol and transition on the semi-only parts of the site...

Oh another point - be wary what launcher you use - I had to seek advice from members on how to get it to fire as my launcher wouldn’t quite initiate the firing pin! I needed up putting a sticky bit of rubber over it to make it stick out a bit further to make my S&T launcher able to fire it. It’s a ridiculously tight fit too and brought all the stickers off the side so looks old and knackered!

Yesterday I have also had issues with it as the sticky rubber had decompressed around the pin so it wouldn’t press again - back to the drawing board on how to get it to fire!

I know not specifically related to your initial question but thought worth mentioning!

Also only fired it about 10
times or so and defo needs some
maintenance - not sure how this compares to other shells??

Very good spread but realistic range is about 20m.

Everyone (including own team) shit themselves first time you fire it...
It becomes a bit of a game of chicken waiting to use it - in woodland games anyway. I was desperate to get a kill
with it in first games and ended up firing when they were too far away.

Good to clear before charging in somewhere or as a quick bob out weapon when they are charging in but this is also one of the issues I have with them - I defo wouldn’t want to get someone with it while they are very close... so the ‘range’
of them isn’t great but at same time is also can’t be used really close either! Very little spread at very close distance

I've had a second hand DMR previously and I didn't get on with it but I think perhaps I didn't give it enough of a chance. I'm basing my expectations off of the performance of my usual 350fps AEGs. I just feel the left right deviation and distance don't match the specs of the gun. I've read a review that said the hop unit wasn't good enough for the power so I planned to upgrade that anyway when I bought it but I don't know what would fit it.

Few recent bits I've been waiting on finally arrived today:

Zenitco dual pressure switch for the Klesch-2 & Perst-4 , again great quality & a nice little bit of kit allowing me to control / adjust the attachments as opposed to 2x separate switch attachments

Additional MK46 Box Mag & Dummy bullet belt

Tag Pecker MK2's - Dummy Tag grenades so I can get some practice without (literally) blowing up £7 a shot! - Helps in orange as well so I won't lose them!

Airsoft parts are made to the same tolerances as airsoft meters to real meters.
But unfortunately a small size difference can make a great performance difference, and there are no standard specs for them. Everyone just makes a somewhat similar part that they make fit with the factory parts of the same gun, but even their own next iteration of the same part can be slightly different. They make it on a different machine, different supplier even, different material and that adds up to the 10-20% all parts combined.

If it was made for the same brand and same model then you have 80-90% that it will fit.
    If it wasn't then 10-20%.

I believe I had a similar issue the first time I reassembled the Galaxy mp5k - for me it was the positioning of the trigger spring - there are two ways the spring could naturally sit, one was correct and ensured the trigger and switch block returned as it should, the other, possibly the way you currently have it installed caused issues. Unfortunately I've been in lock down away from home (and all my gear 😭) so i don't have it to hand to take pics or experiment for you.

The problem is the mp5k v3 trigger and switch block assembly is kind of notorious for being crappy - i'm wondering if there is a problem with the switch block canal or even a weak trigger spring itself. Though I would start with reviewing the installation position of the trigger spring. I know you said it was a nightmare getting it back together though I would imagine you have learnt quite a bit and second time in shouldn't be as bad.

yeah it fires 40mm moscarts. inside the RPG is a long black tube that you load up and once fired need to pull the tube out to reload.

Not really a problem so to speak, but as stock I was lifting .25 without much problem but the carry just wasn’t great, .30s would lift but for the same distance I could push my .25s.

shame! I really fancy one but I would always play a mix of woodland and CQB and been able to drop onto outside ground is a must for me!
try different heights on drop? I managed to get my trmr to set off a few times and developed a bit of a knack of deploying it but never ended up trying it during game and face embarrassment of not firing!

Been there 3 times now and gained membership - cannot speak highly enough of the staff and site.

Its a a small place but really good fun and really well run.

I’ve only been going for short times mainly to get registered for UKARA and they didn’t even mind me changing the numbers in terms of teams - they got it and basically didn’t treat me like the bit of a dick I was being.

Now ive got my rif I’ll be going for full evenings and I think this is a great strength of the site - open 7 days a week and can go for half hour to a few hours of frantic fun.

I had battery issues with my old AEG and a slide issue with my GBB pistol and they fell over themselves to help which is always nice.

Everything you need on site and other shops nearby for food should you need it.

I imagine games might be a tad repetitive but that’s issue with a lot of sites. They do have other things on hand to spice it up like a bomb, fake money cache and noticed disks laying around that I imagine is search and collect style.

Also love the kill counter - they have an electronic button at respawn that counts deaths - obviously lower the number for your team the better.

    Recommend a visit ultimately.

Been waiting a while for TM Sopmod to come in stock and went into store as soon as I noticed they had them in and thought the service I got was first rate.

Cannot imagine how they could have served me any better - resolved different issues and questions I had, offered me loads of advice, provided me with a battery connection service to change to Deans ready for when I came into the store and this was with only 10 minutes left til closing they advised me on which batteries and charger to get.

Offer discounts too when you become a member at Halo Mill and basically all in all a really positive if not perfect experience!
