FreeFrag.UK reacted to Shamal in Canada Threatening to Ban Airsoft
I have said for years now that the writing is on the wall.the time is coming whereby all guns will be banned and it started with the terrible Dunblane event.
The powers that be do not want the general public to have anything that could be used to show any form of resistance to the power of the forces of law and order.
Every time I read or hear on news that some one has used a gun illegally or shot a friend in the leg while 'playing with airgun' or neighbour calls police because you have been plinking at targets in back garden with a 'nasty looking weapon,' then I think "That's another nail in the airsoft coffin" and when the police have enough incidents to put before Parliament they will say " ok,enough,hand em all in"
The writing is on the wall......
☹

FreeFrag.UK reacted to Adolf Hamster in Canada Threatening to Ban Airsoft
the problem is when has a law restricting guns or airsoft come into force, and then been repealed or made less severe?
i'd worry that if this doesn't get fought now, it never will be. i hope the canadian airsoft community is strong enough to do that.
i do sometimes wonder, as much as i think the yanks have far too much freedom in this regard, if the rednecks have a point when they cry slippery slope every time a move is made against the 2nd amendment.

Tanaka m&p performance center r8. Got this from overseas and it seems to have seen very little use but damn is this a chunky revolver. Think this might be my new go to sidearm especially once its got an rmr knockoff on it.

I'd love to find a way to build something like this for a post apocalyptic build. I'm also trying to design a futuristic looking Uzi AEG for a cyberpunk loadout.

FreeFrag.UK got a reaction from Oldsofter in The "Share A Bargain" Thread Discussion section Only
Hi Albert,
When it comes to the "Share a Bargain" thread it is more focused on sharing information regarding promotional offers and sales. To use your example, in this particular case you would provide the information you have done with a link to the website/promotional offer you used.
The best thing to do is to have a scroll back through this thread to see the format and what sort of posts people have made. I would also recommend looking at the original post for this thread as this is an excellent example of the kind of posts seen here.
When you get the opportunity I would highly recommend heading over to the New Player area to make an introduction thread. Welcome to the forum and hopefully we'll see more content from you as time goes on.

So guess what I picked up cheap(£15) as it was white and am now in the process of painting and weathering. It's actually comming up decent even if iv done a few obvious mistakes.
Undercoated grey. Attacked with a blade a bit but probably not enough. Sprayed silver and then before it set dusted with iron powder. When that dried dusted with salt and sprayed with vinegar. May Drybrook a bit more metal over and seal before another rust up... quite liking where the rust is going...

Not so much something I just bought but something I just made. A lens protector (after paying too much for the Laylax versions and finding they were only plastic).

My tribute to the Blood Diamond Carbine. I know the upper is incorrect, but I prefer it without the brass deflector in all honesty. Fitting the torch mount into the FSB was quite the faff!

Nothing too epic just a nice little soldering station for a tenner from Lidl , don’t do that much just changing connectors more than anything , even has 2 rolls of solder with it !👍

FreeFrag.UK got a reaction from benno996 in Ffs What Has Happened to Airsoft With This Influx of Single Shot Only Sites. WTF ( Contains Potty Language )
I think the posts made by @Rogerborg pretty much hit the nail on the head to be honest.
I can't say I've encountered many who share my mentality but I much prefer my guns rate of fire to be as close as possible to their real counterpart and I've never understood this need to push guns into silly rates of fire. While I'd never try and pressure someone into playing in a manner to match my play style or approach to airsoft, I do think there needs to be some level of mutual respect and acknowledgement of what constitutes as reasonable versus the realms of simply taking the piss.
Personally I love Luke's approach over at Negative Airsoft and his refusal to build "wanker guns" as he puts it.
Full auto definitely has a place in airsoft but based on what I've seen in the online community there also seems to be a massive drive towards drum mag's and similar shenanigans which, at least for me, take away from the spirit of the game. Especially when you see pistols with Stanag mag's or dum mag's hanging out of the bottom, if you want that then use a damn rifle/SMG/LMG.

FreeFrag.UK reacted to Davegolf in Ics L85 - Time for a Rebuild
As above the gearbox and compression parts are very good.
I have owned 3 and built others for customers to varying levels but you don’t need much.
The gear set is also very good quality - DO NOT CHANGE THEM!
This is all you want parts wise;
ZCI high torque motor with ICS pinion
Prometheus EG barrel 455mm
Prometheus type 2 cylinder
Renew the piston head O ring
Nice bucking and nub
Gate PicoAAB
Alpha Wire 16awg
11.1V LiPo
New ICS spring if it’s sat around for years.
Renew ICS parts in the lower receiver related to the cut off lever - I cannot remember the part numbers but if you look in your manual at the parts diagram you can order them direct from ICS.
This keeps fire selector semi issues at bay.
Free upgrades / work;
Re shim the gearbox.
Set motor height.
Polish / de burr the gearbox shell.
Check all air seals.
Support the inner barrel agains vibration.
Shim the hop unit toward the gearbox 0.5mm-0.75mm, this fixes double feed.
Icing on the cake, semi pro job;
Ditch the trigger contact assy and replace with a micro switch, short stroke the trigger.
Yes I like the ICS L85 😁
