The MP5 plastic bodies are all right, body creak is over exaggerated. their advantage is they are significantly lighter than the metal bodies. The issues with the original TM MP5 and therefore all the clones is the hop unit and the adjustment arm which is very prone to being knocked out of place. Hence why if I was to get a new MP5 I would go NRGS (believe me tring to justify it to myself at the moment) The P90 has a lot of air gap between the body and gearbox so you get some noise dampening. I have heard of people insulating their P90 with foam to muffle the noise but I'd be worried about setting the thing on fire.

Disagree with what statement the whole point of semi auto restrictions is to limit number of BBs in the air. If you are using semi auto to replicate full auto you are using the gun wrong. Using something in a way it's not supposed to use causing it to fail is use error. If car engine blew up because you are doing 70 in 1st you going to say that a design flaw or user error?

Ah so user error. Seems an expensive fix for either not spamming the trigger or just use full auto short controlled bursts.

If you are not going to go NRGS I would go ICS or Classic Army. However what ever you upgrade you are not going to make any significant reduction in noise.

People keep talking about semi lock on M4/416 NRGS I have run a 416 and most of my team mates run M4 variants for the last few years never had lock up issues. How common actually is it?

KWA doesn't have the functionality of TM and Bolt have serious build quality/reliability issues.

I bought a 3D printable file for a mini 14 receiver the plan is to cast it and make a semi auto HPA with a CO2 internal tank.

I have had several when i was younger i got bored quickly with airsoft guns ( who am i kidding still do) and sold them. Kicker was bought them for practically nothing and sold them just as cheap. It hurts seeing what they go for now.

Cost. TM did produce SPAS 12 with stock in limited numbers many years ago. when they come up for sale it's a high price ever so often. there is an after market stock but last time i saw one it was £150 before shipping.

Most certainly do able, but you will need to fabricate upper receiver, gas port, you could just create a shroud and use a cut down mid cap (so no new feeding system) you will most likely need to hack up a wood M14 stock(real steel surplus is relatively cheap), you might be able to keep/modify the trigger guard. So you can keep gearbox, outer/ inner barrel, hop unit and lower assembly. All the shapes look relatively simple and you could cold hammer them out of aluminium or cad design and 3d print the upper receiver. This a lot for a novice. But you got to start somewhere.

There is a set of files for sale on Etsy for the SMG that are based around a V3 gearbox. It even includes files for top feeding mags.

You have much more effectively said what should be happening than my "step up". They have utterly failed to justify their existence and i agree that no money should be sitting in a PayPal account. I did not bring up the white paper i was just responding to that and yes they don't fight cases (again don't seem to do anything) but a functioning players association should be doing that and to do that or even operating/maintain a members date/base web sit could eat significant funds. UKAPU does need to step up to justify it's existence, but to all those people complaining that they have all that money in savings, for a nation wide representative body 20k is nothing. To actually be effective they should have reserve fund multiple times that. If they were to actually have to fight a legal case or fund a white paper that money could be spent in a matter weeks, hell cost of lawyers could burn through that in days.

Always try to get my head around we airsofters balk at green fees yet spend thousands on gun/gear I can't think of many all day activities that cost less than airsoft green fees (£36 would last you maybe two rounds for four people in the pub these days.
