  1. First pistol, don't mess about looking at stuff for upgrade potential , nor kit that's dirt cheap but notoriously unreliable, look at tm, my personal recommendation would be a hi-capa 4.3, but to be fair the 5.1 model has more of a 1911 look about it, but in all honesty, if you get in to your pistols & dabble in other brands, when you finally get a tm you'll ask yourself "why the hell didn't I do this in the first place" ? If you check the classifieds, for £130 you'll probably find one with 3 mags & a hard shell holster, which is a must if you don't want to lose mags. Only caveat to buying secondhand, look at the seller & their history, post count, post type & attitude ?, & feedback, if any seem "off", scroll on lol.
  2. Wish I had your wisdom 30 years ago, I only 'kin married her ?. Seriously though guys, thanks for the advice so far, yeah I knew about ducati's issues back in the 80's/90's, chocolate head studs that didn't like riding from cold etc, they were definitely meant for owners with deeper pockets when it came to servicing but I'm told this particular engine became the "go to" lump in the millennium, & this model was detuned so actually less stress than the other models that shared the poweplant. But as well as getting as much positive info on the bike model, I'm approaching it the way I do when I'm buying a rif, studying the owner as much as what he's selling, in this case he's just got the latest incarnation of the multistrada, so as a brand he's had no major issues, plus he has a very well looked after HD bobber, & a classic Honda vf750, again well looked after ? As for what I'm considering, it's got new mot, no advisories, New back tyre, full Duke luggage & some other bits, all of which add up to quite a lot of £. & the biggest plus, I've got the missus backing ?, never saw that coming lol.
  3. Word to the Wise:

If your planning on doing some longstanding jobs at home, kinda things you've been putting off, & someone slips you a pint of Morgans & diet coke beforehand,

DON'T EXPECT TO GET MUCH DONE LOL ?

Lol, that's when shit gets silly, a glaswegian mate felt it was his national duty to always be the the most pissed person on nights out...... Until one night he collapsed blind drunk, totally unconscious, when people tried to get him up, he proceeded to piss & shit himself, an off duty nurse present deemed him at risk so an ambulance was called, while we waited for it another lad collapsed, falling forward & breaking his nose.

They both got stick for a long time afterwards.

      Happy times lol?

  4. Hey guys, been riding intermittently since I was 15, had all the jap brands in various shapes & sizes, but never paid much attention to the Italian stuff.......... Until now ? I know there are many bikers on here, & a few of you ride Italian kit, today at a chance meeting I was offered an almost pristine 2003 Ducati multistrada 1000ds, 27k on the clock, for £2k. Yep, I've started to check out reviews, all of which seem positive at the mo, but I'm also pretty cynical when it comes to anyone who likes to flap their attention seeking chops on YouTube, so wondered if anybody here has experience with this model or its more recent siblings ? Thanks in advance ? Mark
  5. DA FUQ ? Did the seller put too many zero's on the receipt ffs
  6. With the exception of the dodgy trigger, of which we don't know the issue ?, but you feel us easily remedied with a much prettier replacement, if internally its doing what it's supposed to, I'd leave it be for now & just make it look the bollox. It is TM after all ?
  7. Not personally but I've seen it done a few times, players usually regret it though, when they rip the shit out of their only/best suit lol.
  8. His rifle in the film was much nicer, do that instead, def be cheaper lol
  9. Love the gun, but the optics?
  10. While I can't tell you what's compatible with what etc, I have a question: Do the two pistols, with their plastic/metal mix work as they should ? If the answer is yes then, & it's just my opinion, carefully drill out the unnecessary rails, make good any holes left behind & if needed, remould the holsters for a better fit. Some of the desert eagle kits I've heard of previously are notoriously hit & miss when it comes to quality control, & getting any semblance of acceptable reliability usually becomes a money pit that is impossible to recoup later on. And your doing it X2 lol. IMHO Good luck ?
  11. That's cos your so sloppy when you eat salad, you should put yer teeth in ? Regards?
  12. It's an easy fix, you just need to rotate your bb's 90° degrees when loading. Simples?
  13. Obviously I never intentionally inferred that in my question ?
  14. Its not helped by the fact that, the Mall for example, had marble type polished floors in the main concourse, bit slippy at the best of times, especially in the couple of spots at one end where the roof leaked & there were a couple of puddles sometimes. Stick hard wee balls on that marble, a recipe for slips & slides. Thankfully most off the off concourse areas were rough concrete & carpet, as I've found to be the case at most cqb sites I've attended, much more forgiving when bb's are added. Footwear will make a big difference too, old school stiff soled boots such as dms etc will skim across bb's like ice, the more modern kit that has a bit more give & feedback copes much better in cqb.
  15. I've got some pretty hardcore storage for my gats, kept behind another level of security to protect my bike & jetski. But to be honest, the gat security were both monster s/h bargains on fb, literally sinful not to buy, maybe there was an element of that in rdb's purchase ?
  16. Stick around, when you've seen the high quality of most of his "toys", you'd want to lock them up too?
  17. Lol, knowing tm it's actually going to be more reliable than the real steel (er plastic?) gun. EDIT: lol, just seen @Rogerborgsaid exactly the same thing before me. Doh, I'm thick as shit I am?
  18. Which again raises the question : "why the other guy gets his serviced monthly ffs" Yes he's spent an arm & a leg on it, probably mostly in servicing costs lol, but that's clearly his slightly ocd choice, not something a potential new owner should have to cover.
  19. Thanks to FB marketplace bargains, in the garage I've got a shotgun cabinet for the really long guns, & high security builders site box for anything less than 42ish inches, rrp for both items was just shy of £650, I managed to get them for a tenner each. Woop Woop ?
  20. Needs a few bits doing, is he being optimistic ?
  21. Yeah, wondered about that one, but Tbh I'm not knowledgeable on system's to know the s/h values, regardless of his clearly obsessive "servicing" ?. Think its another one where he feels justified in clawing back every penny spent on mods & accessories, irrespective of whether anyone else agrees on their value or necessity.
  22. Wots a mini fix ? ?
  23. +1 on that, if I could go back to my teens I'd have been using ear Pro, even squidgy foam pellets would have made a difference & now I might not have the constant ringing/buzzing?
