  1. I think we as a community need clarification on how EXACTLY does the system work (or how its supposed to work but doesnt?), what inter-agency communication there is, including how involved the carriers can be, & what we, or the offshore retailers can do to ensure the process is as smooth & trouble free as possible. Who here is a member of, or ideally involved in the hierarchy of any of the airsoft associations such as ukasa (might have got that acronym wrong ?) ect, maybe they can be convinced to open dialogue with ukba/hmrc/carriers to ascertain the precise process, & look at addressing what's going wrong ?. My take is it's likely lack of knowledge along the chain, retailers not labelling goods properly, & carriers/ukba/hmrc not knowing enough about airsoft & it's limitations, being blinded by the fact our kit resemble a gun, so therefore must be a gun?
  2. Everything that EvilMonkee wrote is correct, & couriers, such as ups, face large fines if they fail to adhere to the rules set by hmrc (& ukba).
  3. If it's the genuine magpul, I've seen them up for as much as £650 s/h, Rocketdogbert was a particular fan of them if I remember?
  4. We've had members here for years with no posts, just lurking lol. Re JohnnyBravo, can't see anything suspicious, all I will say is if anyone chats with him about selling, keep it here, don't be convinced to talk on WhatsApp etc, scammers love it, it protects them.
  5. On the move at mo, I'll look him up shortly, scam or eedjit, it is the school hols after all?
  6. Thanks for clarifying that, I should imagine that now most EU suppliers are paying the duty at source, they're focusing on other regions for maximum revenue generation ?
  7. Last year ?, so did you receive that order ?, if so is this relating to a new order ? ?
  8. I've got the cyma socom, it's stock & even on .20's the range & accuracy has been excellent, & not fussy with brands. I suggest you wait till it arrives & test it with whatever you've already got before buying a load more.
  9. Hey Josh, time for a claim I think, but the tech/shop ?, need to initiate it as it appears to have happened on the return journey to you ?.
  10. Well done mate, looks awesome, sorry I never got the opportunity to pop ip & help you with it, maybe I can when you put the first floor in ?
  11. @Ayman Small what Cannonfodder said is spot on, reason being is that paypal only allow you one dispute per transaction, so if the seller convinced you to cancel it, & then didn't deliver the goods, you're fooked.
  12. Yep ?, & none of his stuff is marked as sold either ?
  13. I'm going to lock the thread before it gets silly, op has an opinion based on his experiences, others here have a different view.
  14. Aah, his first paypal transaction, that explains it, you need to make sure he's sent your items, he's not likely to see any money until you receive what you're owed. Explain this to him & tell him he'll have to add tracking details to the transaction info on PayPal, showing his parcelforce48 reference number.
  15. Moral of the story is, don't leave expensive kit in your vehicles, theft from vehicles has been rife for decades, particularly in the big cities, blaming the current negative perception of policing is just a cop out, no pun intended, I've never heard of a vehicle being broken in to that didn't have something of interest visible to passing scrotes.
  16. To me it looks sus, most of the sellers ads go back 6-8 months, if hes actually sold anything previously then surely he's already completed paypals usual probation period ?, unless there have been issues previously ?.
  17. Also, where did you see the item you're buying, can you provide us with a url link to the sale ?, let us assess whether the seller looks kosher Sometimes when users are new to paypal there can be a delay before funds are released, to ensure there is no fraudulent activity.
  18. Sporting goods usually works, are you buying privately or from a business ?
  19. None of the bad stuff surprises me, years before AI started running games, the team behind the magazine turned up at a number of walk-on days at various sites, & they acted as if the rules didn't apply to them, cheating on a monumental level. Any wonder that the games they organise are equally as bad, never felt inclined to sign up for any of their events, irrespective of how good the locations looked potentially.
  20. He's gone, although going on his profile I see he'd been accused previously through "status updates", unfortunately they don't raise a flag for a mod, & like in this guys case, initially missed. Assume we're dumb & tell us directly ?
  21. First thing I thought was it's a scam, who in their right mind would present an ad in the belief it was worth that money, & then rely on that text, even if English wasn't your first language you'd find a way to describe it accurately , even if you just copy & pasted the descriptions from the various retailers websites it all originated from ?
  22. Spring Shotties can get a hard life, & when something fails they usually end up in the bin, so I'd recommend plenty of research on brands before parting with any money. Personally I've found cyma springers to be very good, & they can be found with metal bodies etc which one would hope extends the life a little, bur not in the price bracket you mentioned, unless you can find one in the classifieds here ?.
