You know I have a memepic for that, right? If you have a £150 one, I'd play with that, at least until you're confident with the sites and hazards.

That's actually a decent attitude. Turn up to get shot, rather than expecting a fantasy YouTube kill ratio, and you'll have a blast. It is a fun hobby. If you get a chance, I'd recommend trying both woodland and indoor CQB as they can be quite different experiences. Filmsim / immersion events are also worth a go, once you've got some experience under your belt. You'll get a massive adrenaline hit from your first day, and it'll be the bestest hobby ever: just try not to come home and blow mortgage money on buying the bestest toy guns ever, at least not right away. Renting for a couple of months until you have site membership / a UKARA number is a good way to avoid making expensive mistakes. Spend the time cadging goes with a variety of guns - airsofters really do tend to be a friendly bunch, and we love showing off our toys.

Solink Brushless Motor for Airsoft AEGs Review
Rogerborg replied to Ranger's topic in Accessory Reviews
We can hope, but performance in RC racing is objective, while in airsoft, the narratives in our head are as important as cruel reality. We're still at this energy. -

Double Eagle M41 (G36) Owners thread

Typical clickbait unboxing review. OP didn't even cover whether this 0.35J beast has a "fully working safety switch". I feel unsafe just reading this without knowing! -

Polite FYI, if you post in text from an app or web page in without selecting "Paste as plain text instead", then those of us reading in best mode, dark mode, can end up seeing this: -
For someone who wants exactly that package, and doesn't mind taking a gamble that they'll receive something fully functional, or anything at all for that matter, and won't balk at being stung for postage and doubtless PayPal fees too, it's a steal.

Yes, I run a plastic Murcan canteen. It carries liquid, you can drink from it, it worked fine during all those wars that Murca lost "drew". Plus side, it's easier to clean than a CamelBak, downside, it's totally "not" leeching plastics into the water. I should really look into finding some sort of stainless steel solution with the same dimensions before my cognitive fakulties deegrayd 2 fur. -
That battery connector looks like the standard one on the original nimh TM (and CYMA clone) AEPs. So you have got an AEP battery, it's just that your AEP is too uPgRaDeD to use it. Short of downgrading the pistol back to an old style connector (and I don't know where you'd get one), if you're feeling brave you could try carefully disassembling the end of that battery and seeing if there's enough wiring there to solder a Deans on to - you can see the black and red wires under the connector there. That could get a bit scorchy, so the alternative is to buy any regular non-AEP lipo that will fit in the space and use that instead. You'd be surprised what you can get in there, I'm running a 1200mAh 7.4v in my "1911", granted with some modification (cutting a hole in the front of the frame under the barrel).

Anyone else going to Gangsta City - The Raid next weekend?
Rogerborg replied to SSPKali's topic in Other Events and Meets
Wouldn't be the first time. Mid Century History Enthusiasts are drawn to this hobby, and I've expressed concerns a few times about the "Calm down, it's just dreᛋᛋ up, lol" sorts. If the organisers are OK with what went on, I'd prefer that they say so clearly so that folk know what to expect. -

I told you to listen to the naysayers! -
Hello, welcome, and thank you for kindly allowing me to decide whether I prefer airsoft or paintball, it's very gracious of you. I'm almost certain that you won't start spamming links to a "blog" that's a thinly veiled affiliate ad-serving site. Sure of it.

My CM.708 keeps skipping my bbs up any ideas why?
Rogerborg replied to Bush with legs's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
You'd generally run 0.4g+ in a sniper, but you should be able to turn the hop down to accommodate anything. From what I'm seeing, it has two grub screws to adjust the hop, under the mag - are you adjusting both, and have you tried going all the way in both directions? -

... a politician being asked to define a woman. -
There is no more noble cause. I'd call it a win and move on, airsoft is more of an art than a science.
-
Is there a reason why you want more than 25rps? I mean, it's fun to go brrrt, but it's of fairly limited practical use in airsoft (unless your intention is to make a viral video that impresses Sklyaar on Reddit, but makes everyone else shake their heads sadly).

Barely at all? -
Out of interest, how much shooting are you intending to do? I ask because even when I've run a pistol primary in CQB I've always ended up having green gas cans sort of spontaneously form in my gear bag faster than I can get through them. And even though I'm the meanest of lickpennies, I've never even considered the cost, at least next to all the other junk that we buy then barely use.
-
Yup, one of the very few pieces of actually worthwhile content I've seen in a Failbook group is an RC guy measuring the internal resistance of a bunch of batteries sold for airsoft versus some sold for RC use - all of the airsoft packs had much higher resistance, even freshly unpacked. It seems that they've found a ready market for QC fails and Friday Cells, because "they all do that, mate".

Might be dependent on our definitions of very very cheap. To me, £70 delivered for an Army Armament R17 (£75 at bbGnuz4lez, wait 24 hours, get offered a 7% discount) is "how bad can it be?" territory (surprisingly OK, as it turns out). Knocking on double that for an unknown OEM, rebranded twice, I'd want to see more than unboxing gushing or two-mag raves on InstaBook.

Heck, no, I'm always laughing at how much people pay for reel steal optics to put on toys that sling tiny bits of plastic with less consistency than the cheapest AliExpress red dot can provide. Well, two kinds of people would say that. People who aren't shilling for Vorsk, and people who are shilling for Vorsk. I don't think you are, but I do agree with the sentiment that you've already decided to buy it and are looking for validation. It's very common. So I hereby validate, bless and anoint thee, do as thou wilt. Just please do let us know how it turns out either way, since - as you correctly say - first hand experience is invaluable. Or if you're determined to buy it just to see how bad it can be, well, I do that all the time, so double blessings on that.
