Voltage determines how fast your motor wants to spin. The current that your battery can supply limits how fast it can spin. It's a bit peculiar that batteries don't quote an amperage, and you have to work it out from capacity x C rating. Either way, I reckon that current is where 7.4V lithiums shine over 7.2-8.4V nimh.

Pretty typical for Grindr, to be fair. -

Might have been something as simple as uploading an avatar, so that we could see your honest face. -
Huh, good question. TaiwanGun reckon so, but neither PatrolBase, Bespoke or Bullseye mention it and there isn't one on this 2020 example. Could be new, could depend on the exact version or variant, could be retailer flim flam.

I guess the coyness just adds to the thirst. Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1674678976115452/posts/3058704781046191/ "Well throwing out a warning to realy do your research on techs hopefully you can learn from my mistake" Only if you tell us who it was... "since I'm the victim I'm happy to make this fucker famous" ... go on then... "Dave Gisbourn of Blackpool calls him self phantom Well your good parts will be spirited away and replaced with junk know he has burnt a few lads in the nw found out after he is a walter mitty" More details and WTAF images. I can't really be bothered to find contact details for this chap or I'd invite him to exercise his right of reply here. While searching, I did stumble across an entirely unrelated tech page by Leicestershire Airsoft, offering "Service including strip down" Which is frankly more interesting than finding out about yet another pufreshun aersoft tecknishun doing bits-box bodges.

White buildup in barrel after only 400 rounds
Rogerborg replied to steverebo's topic in Electric Guns
Huh, that's new. Even if the gearbox was packed with white lithium/ptfe grease I wouldn't expect it to keep spooging out indefinitely. Are those bio BBs by any chance? -
Looks like PatrolBase just got a decent restock as well.

Not a clue, but a few more replies should see you good. -
Good spot. Yes, you can rewire Tamiya easily enough, you just need a precision flat bladed screwdriver or similar to push the tabs on the sides of the pins in. We covered polarity and rewiring here.
-
That it's happening with multiple barrels (inner and outer) and hop units suggests looking elsewhere. Are the hop units flush and square with the gearbox? Is anything standing proud and tilting them? What about the receiver around the hop unit? Any ridges, bumps, or wallered out areas, or something jammed down one side of the slots that the hop unit keys into? How are you tensioning the hop units against the gearbox?

Once again Americans/HPA users/Geardo's ruin it for the rest of us

And then burn down the site. And Reddit. And here. We have to stop the spread of this, even if it takes an Exterminatus. -

Yes, we are rather plagued with spambots and "pay by full in please Western Union and my very most reliable courier shall deliver" types, so there's a minimum amount of interaction needed before you can scam or get scammed. -
Accidents (actual accidents, not Arec Barwdrin "accidents") do happen though. I've boltied someone in the bare arm at about 5m when they pointed from behind a building just as I pulled the trigger. Soooo much "Sorry, mate, my bad, mate". Fortunately it doesn't happen often, and I reckon UK energy levels are actually about right.

Of course, the real unforgivable offence is posting Reddit clickbait here. Man, woman, I don't see gender, I just see an HPA wanker and a burger-roid-raging plonker who seems incapable of shouting the word "hit!". I don't know about you chaps / lady-chaps, but at the sites where I play, the briefing tends to make a point that you'll stop getting shot if and when you acknowledge the hit. -

I guess it depends what the concern is. If it's reality then we should be measuring energy with as few variables as possible. And testing what people are actually using in the field, not at the chrono station. Anything else is just one form of theatre or another.
-
That... might have been too obvious. We were on about about pendulums or impact sensors to try and measure the energy directly. Although trying to put rounds through its sensor area at 30m might flaccidate some fantasies about "laser" accuracy.
-
And bolties. With folk now slinging 0.5g of "plastic" around this is becoming less academic, although ultimately we can point at the UK legal definition which is only concerned with muzzle energy. We had a pondering session a while back about how you'd measure energy at 20m+, and never really came up with a workable real-world solution.
-
I won't say that I watch Ave BOLTRs and Project Farm religiously, but it's not far off.

This time. See, here's the thing. When you drop in and drip feed a narrative like this, it can look like you're making it up as you go along, or deliberately withholding information just in order to sell your side of it. I'm not saying that you are. I'm saying what it looks like. Either way, it's way too much drama over a cheap part and a common failure. The only thing I've learned here is to really avoid WE GBBRs.

Agreed, the Edge 1 I bought last year has been fine, and the Gate Aster in the Edge 2 represents pretty decent value for money. There's not a lot in there that screams to be swapped out. I'd be interested to see if you get one with a flat hop and nub. Either way, the Maple Leaf macaron and Omega nub combo is the only thing I'd do out of the box. If you're gagging to spend money, a ZCI or AOLS barrel probably won't be any worse than the original. -
Well, it's certainly possible, but I very much doubt that Some Other Airsofters have done any sort of high speed laminar airflow photography to find out, or even controlled testing in any meaningful sense. Most airsoft teching seems to be myth, magical thinking, and "works for me". Bear in mind that Crazy Jet and Maxx are in the business of selling products, not doing science.
-
Selling past the close, as they say. On balance, I'm minded to believe the retailer and @Spartan09. It's just... a remarkable coincident that three new chums all decided to show up and sing their praises at the same time.

Airsofter buys another £500 toy to hang on the wall with the rest of them: "Cool, mate, lovely purchase." Airsofter spends a few extra £££ a day on BBs: "Durr, nobody needs to shoot 0.4g from an AEG, you plonker."
