  1. ParcelForce48 is the only postage service that officially take RIFs https://send.parcelforce.com/ Typically its around ยฃ12 for a boxed rifle
  2. The Brownings aren't great but as long as you follow the rule of cocking the hammer or racking the slide before inserting a magazine they are OK. The hop adjustment is a bit more of a pain than other pistols because you have to remove the inner barrel but if you use the same weight BBs then you should only have to set it once. If you want a metal slide 1911 then WE, Umarex, VFC or Army Armament are decent. If you want gas efficiency and don't mind a plastic body then Tokyo Marui are the standard. Keep in mind all traditional looking 1911's (Non Hi-Capas) use a small magazine that doesn't hold much gas. (enough for one mag of BBs) (The Tokyo Marui is more gas efficient as mentioned)

Yes, the sales pages from various retailers suggest 11.1v is better for the G&G M16 SRL.
  4. Congrats. Well on the way to becoming a tech ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ‘
  5. 11.1v does put a lot more stress on the mechanical parts and is not recommended unless stated by the manufacturer (or on the sale page) They can be used at your own risk as breakage of parts is more likely due to extra stress and wear. Also any damage will likely be worse due to higher energy involved. Most electric rifles are rated for the 7.4v LiPo's (Of course the gun will feel a bit more sluggish after using 11.1 ๐Ÿ˜‰) A good intelligent charger is also important to prevent fires and ensure the longevity of the batteries. Always unplug them when not in use.
  6. They're just tight (which is good) Just pull em while wiggling. The more worrying thing is figuring out why it blew. Replace with the same value fuse and if it keeps happening it will need more investigation. (Its not running on an 11.1v LiPo I hope)
  7. Keep the boxes if you can. It can be a real pain finding a box for a RIF if you do need to send one by post. Even if you don't intend to sell now you never know. You might need to send one for repair.
  8. Could be repairable but you'd have to find out what part is the problem.
  9. I like the Vorsk grips too. And you can also get THESE grip enhancers that fit under existing grips.
  10. Most guys have an expensive hobby of some sort. Airsoft isn't the most expensive one out there. I'm with Poncho in that I prefer a variety of cheaper/bargain toys rather than spending a lot on one or two great performers. I am now more of a collector than a player and I regard my toys as an investment. Gear/costumes are also easy to exchange. (got rid of most of my stuff when I realised I prefer going light)
  11. You can sell any airsoft related stuff in the 'Classifieds' section of this forum. (There are also 'Wanted' sections) Gear Electric Guns Gas Guns Make sure to real the RULES first
  12. Given how sensitive accuracy is on inner barrel quality, its almost impossible for two barrels to screw together perfectly enough.
  13. As above, provide UKARA (I include it in my address too) You may have to pay import fees so be ready in case.
  14. Might be better to put it in WANTED section ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜โœ‹ I think our toys have improved since then so there's loads more choice now and not too expensive for a decent performer ๐Ÿ‘
  16. Sounds like you have a mature attitude so good start ๐Ÿ‘ Stick to AEG for the beginning. I would say ยฃ250-ยฃ300 will get you a very decent performing & reliable BB slinger. Have a search in the forum for recommended first weapon and best manufacturers. (Obviously there will be a lot of M4/AK but might mention things to think about like attachments etc) Remember that all AEGs work with the same basic mechanism so the shape doesn't affect performance. Even barrel length may not guarantee better performance or accuracy. Higher quality components (cost) will generally improve performance out of the box but its not guaranteed either and there is generally a diminishing return the higher the cost. Basically, look for the style/shape you like the look of most and then research which one to buy. Don't rush into modifying. Its usually best to start that when you have at least 2 weapons so you have a backup.
  17. How can that help? (legally๐Ÿค”) Small claim court?
  18. The rules state that retailers are not allowed
  19. Hi Alan. Airsoft pistols are fun but may not be accurate enough for you. I don't know if green gas is quieter than Co2 but they are much easier to use. Don't bother with spring pistols.
  20. Welcome back โœ‹๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. Welcome โœ‹ Good plan, you'll do well ๐Ÿ‘
  22. Remember that airsoft batteries are much smaller (fewer cells) than in the videos above. While they can spit fire or pop it wouldn't be as violent as seen in those videos. I think charging a 7.4v battery in an old cooking pot (without lid) would contain any fire as long as there isn't anything flammable too close. 11.1v Li-Po's would need a slightly bigger container but not much. This also shows how important it is to get a GOOD intelligent charger that would stop charging when the battery is full or if there is a problem.
  23. "This was all due to incompetence and negligence on his part" I wouldn't blame him. Its not normal for a battery to fail so catastrophically. It must have been damaged (possibly unnoticeably) or the charger failed if it was a cheap one. Yes, its a pity he didn't have it in a safer place but I'm sure many of us leave them unattended for a few minutes at a time. Sorry you all had this experience but thanks for the reminder.
  24. Hi and welcome โœ‹ There's plenty going on here to keep you busy for hours between looking for new toys ๐Ÿ˜
