  1. So your parents aren't involved? The easiest would be for a parent to play three games to get UKARA registered. Yes, anyone with UKARA can gift you a RIF.
  2. Both should be good but personally I'd go for the Specna with electronic trigger (it'll be a basic mosfet but still good) and quick change spring (check reviews of how easy it actually is) Plus it comes will all the rails in case you need em. The Specna is also a tad heavier so will feel a bit more beefy Whichever you go for, first clean the barrel with the cleaning rod (that should be included) then give it a good test to make sure it all works as it should.
  3. Aye, welcome back then. So what's wrong with the gearbox? Stock of airsoft toys is quite low but there are a few good budget manufacturers now including DoubleEagle, JG and SpecnaArms.
  4. I still find it very strange that no other companies have made a HP-MK3 considering how ubiquitous it was. But there are endless variations of less iconic pistols.
  5. Sure they're not great but I've got a few WE pistols and the Hi-Power is the only one with this problem. They used a stiff spring as the striker with the theory that it can flex up when the mag is inserted. The problem is the attachment point of the spring is too weak. Yeah, if it was made of steel it would probably work.
  6. Ah interesting. I can see on my other pistols that the striker is hinged so that it can move up when a mag is inserted and valve pushes up on it.
  7. I assume the older version (P35) had the same system. Maybe it was made of better material but its a poor design for sure.
  8. Welcome 🖐 Duno the area but have a look HERE for sites nearby. Someone may give more specifics. Do lots of reading on the forum because there are answers to all your questions buried deep in the threads 😏
  9. I'd be interested to know if they have improved the mechanism (I doubt it) Could you compare the new and old one?
  10. I broke the striker after only a few days. Then I looked online and found many people had the same problem. https://youtu.be/6nDSDEScEDQ I had to order a couple of replacement parts from KYAirsoft which took a long time to arrive.
  11. Haven't got both to test but as Nick said, 99% sure they are the same. (Remember to insert the mag only AFTER racking it)
  12. I had a good experience with 'Entrepot' too. Fast delivery and no extra charges (may vary)
  13. I've bought a couple of RIFs from them (a few years ago). They arrived after a couple of weeks with nothing extra to pay. Keep in mind that things can still go wrong with postage and I may have been lucky with import inspections but I think they are a reliable and trustworthy company. Definitely ask about availability first to be safe.
  14. The all in one protection works but keep in mind that the face mask is quite wide so will be very hard or impossible to look down the sights of a rifle. I would recommend a mesh facemask like THIS
  15. Yeah, modding can be hit & miss even with good parts they don't always play well together. Its obviously bedded in after about 6 years 😄
  16. Technically you're allowed to use an airsoft (or air) weapon on private land as long as projectiles don't cross the boundary. (I know you won't be shooting anything) BUT as mentioned, do not underestimate the stupidity of some dog walker reporting a hostage situation of a photographer etc.... 🙄
  17. Are you aware that the piston should not be tight in the cylinder? The design relies on the air pressure entering the ports and expanding the loose rubber seal to make it airtight without much friction.
  18. Welcome 🖐 Have a look around. Lots of info and .... er.... stuff... 😁
  19. The Patrolbase link you posted says 'polymer receiver' 🤔 God only knows with the BBGuns4Less one 🙄
  20. I don't have experience with that particular model but I strongly suspect the trigger sear has worn down so it can no longer hold the piston in the cocked position. Do a search on Youtube for "sear replacement" or something similar. Hopefully someone here may be able to help with specifics on what part you'll need to replace...
  21. The Double Eagle range have earned a good reputation but keep in mind that the body is polymer as you mentioned you wanted metal.
  22. Welcome Its very difficult to say which is better because even if someone had them all to compare they could still vary in performance and reliability with other copies. I'm very happy with my Specna Arms Edge E-03 v1.0 and I have several standard CYMA's which work well too so the Platinum should(?) be even better. I don't have any experience with G&G rifles but they seem more expensive than other makes of similar spec. I would suggest getting the one you like the look of most. Give it a good test to make sure it works properly and enjoy. (The rear sight on the Specna Arms SA-H20 Edge V2.0 can be easily removed)
  23. Ideally the hop unit should be able to move in/out a bit on the spring at the front. This ensures a good seal with the nozzle while allowing some movement margin in case of a miss feed so it doesn't damage the nozzle. The main thing for performance is to make sure the hop unit makes a good seal with the nozzle when in the extended (firing) position. But if the hop unit is too far back (from the front of the gun) it will put a lot of strain on the tappet plate in the gearbox and something will break.
