  1. I'd like to get to the point of doing marathons. For now I'm only built for more sedate speeds so I've been going on a lot of hikes. Keeps the moths out of some of my airsoft kit until I can get back to a game too.
  2. After seeing a discussion on another thread I had the idea for a thread dedicated to those of us who want to lose weight, get physically fitter or just generally live healthier. Whether you're getting fit for airsoft, using airsoft as a way to improve your health or you're already fit and want to help and encourage others, you're all welcome to give advice or ask questions. I will say though, try to avoid promoting things like keto diets and intensive CrossFit type things just because they aren't for everyone and aren't always healthy as an entry level or more casual non-athlete.
  3. Has anyone experimented with using using a longer inner barrel and npas to keep the FPS down. My hypothesis is that it should give better consistency and gas efficiency. I imagine these benefits would be marginal at best but the real improvements should be reduced wear on the hop rubber meaning you can use a softer rubber for longer
  4. That price is hilarious when it looks and reportedly performs worse than the AAP-01, with less aftermarket support and modularity.
  5. Interesting. I'll talk to my dad about it as he's the one who has the printers
  6. Pla is more brittle. ABS works really well because it flexes so can take hits better, it's easy to sand and paint and you can make very strong larger components by gluing parts together with plastic cement instead of a normal glue which leaves a fracture point.
  7. Reminds me of a video Airsoft Cam Man did a while back. There was a fuckabout game at the end of the day. Basically you didn't have to call your hit until you couldn't bear the pain anymore.
  8. ABS is the way to go for airsoft. You can also use a bunch of those foam floor tiles from Halfords to make an enclosure. It helps regulate the temperature of the print which is important for printing abs
  9. Those are some pretty clean looking prints. It's that with the printer completely stock? What's it printed in?
  10. What about a contained unit, kind of like the type of thing gunsmiths use to check a gun is functioning without taking it to a range. It's a box with a small hole with rubber shields blocking it. You stick the muzzle of the gun through the rubber, fire of a couple of shots and the box and rubber catch any ricochets.
  11. It's a VFC. Those things aren't worth the RRP even when they're new
  12. My dad opened a gearbox at a game once. Very quickly learnt his lesson. Some of the shims fell out and made their way between the gears. Didn't realize, put it all back together and *CRUNCH* Now we just take enough backups to arm half of our team.
  13. A serious lapse in judgement made me shave off the tactical beard meaning I couldn't be seen in any of my kit until it has grown back to a respectable length 😂
  14. I find a 3 point sling very versatile and usable... as long as I have literally no other tactical kit on me for it to get caught on. It's worst with plate carriers. As for what I've learned, probably that there are ways for me to enjoy airsoft without getting to a game. I've not been playing for over 3 years now due to a mix of health, money and personal reasons which has been incredibly frustrating. Luckily I found 3d design work for my guns to be very helpful easing the pain of not playing. So I can look forward to taking out some very impressive and unique guns when I do eventually get to a game.
  15. You can get a cheap printer disks in to a really fine degree with some work. This is printed in abs on a modified ender 3
  16. Printers are great. You can print all the accessories that are too expensive, discontinued or don't exist. I'm at the point of designing full kits and guns. It really changes how you look at airsoft guns. They become the potential for something more, instead of looking at a gun and thinking that looks cool you look at it and think, what could this become? Hence why I'm picking up a tac-41 at some point to make a MSR kit for it so that I can own the only usable Airsoft MSR
  17. Another kit made my a friend, this time one for you halo fans. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/airsoft-halo-magnum-aap-01-body-kit-rhysdavey
  18. I was the same when I got my USP-C. It's in a different class from the other guns I've owned and somehow doesn't feel plasticky at all
  19. Since having kids who think that stealing your glasses off your face and breaking them is the best thing since nap time, I've switched to contacts semi permanently. It took a while to find the right ones though and I hate to say it but the more expensive ones made of a softer material are miles better than the cheaper ones.
  20. Now I don't know much about the ngrs, their upgrades or how much they go for. However £900 seems pretty steep and putting is as collection only seems incredibly optimistic. The real crime here though is that he reposted it FOUR FUCKING TIMES!
  21. Trying my kit on quickly just to check the fit while I'm out of the game. Everything needed to be let out (again). Please excuse the state of the room, lol. We had our second kid 2 weeks ago and our 1 year old likes to run around trashing the place and making out with his reflection.
  22. If you can, get it printed in ABS. It's BB resistant, looks great and feels a lot better in the hand than pla or petg
  23. Sounds like you guys need to check out the Facebook group Airsoft 3D Printing 2.0. a lot of people there are doing kits for the AAP including stuff that sounds a lot like what you're describing.
  24. Clearly you're new here. You're supposed to kick off, arguing with everyone and calling us various names (bonus points for DMing people offering to fight them) before giving up and disappearing off the forum forever.
