I use an LPVO and prefer low mounts for it. I use a half face balaclava with a mesh insert most of the time or a soft sided mesh mask for a bit more protection so that I can get as low down as possible.

I want to try a similar project to make a Negev. My skills and tools definitely aren't up to par to tackle something that big just yet though.

Probably the KSC M93R. Looked great, all the trades, nice and weighty but everything else was meh at best. The finish was glossy and scratched easily, the slide weighed next to nothing and the recoil spring was super weak so it had basically no recoil and the range And accuracy needed the 3 the burst just to make hits. That and it was so big and heavy that hosting it was nearly impossible. I lost a mag because of it.

That's interesting you say that. My kid's mum had been on sertraline for years and developed a lot of joint and chronic pain in that time. I may have to mention this to her.

Maybe look at the Silverback Tac-41 instead of the SRS. Essentially the same system but in a more traditional layout. It's just over your budget and that's without any extras though at around £365 new. I'm yet to see any turn up second hand. The only complaint I've seen so far is that the BB retainer sometimes breaks but it's an easy enough thing to fix and I believe some places or offering replacement or improved parts foc. There are plenty of upgrades available but frankly it performs incredibly stock. Plus the mag placement is more realistic for those of use who hate fiddling with vsr mags

Can you still fold the stock with the paracord? Don't want to spend all that time doing it if it ends up needing to come straight back off.

If you want an M4 base you can't beat the MK12 Mod 0 for looks. The Double bell one is apparently pretty solid so not a bad base to upgrade.

A lot of mental health practitioners have taken to calling it mindfulness exercises to separate it from the stereotypes. I've used it to clear my head at night and it really works to help me sleep through the night. I should really start doing it again...

Hiding in the undergrowth with a small group I'd teamed up with that day waiting to spring an ambush. It had been raining all day so a lot of people had given up and gone home which meant at such a large site the action was very spread out. It was a fall back game and we were defending. At the start we pushed forward as fast as we could and took up concealed positions close to the path. We waited for them to push past us to the front line then opened fire from the bushes. By the time they respawned and came back for us we had already pushed round, cleared most of the enemy push and rejoined our team. The atmosphere of waiting in the rain watching the enemy pass by in spitting distance reminded me of every Vietnam movie.

I know this isn't exactly what I started this thread taking about but I believe mental health is as important as physical health, of not moreso, especially in this pandemic. I keep seeing people talk about their lack of motivation and some have opened up more and a lot of what people are talking about sounds like the early signs of depression. So I'm sharing this group started by a good friend of mine. It's great as a place you can go to vent, get a second opinion or just talk things over. Maybe try going back to basics. Take the bare minimum kit, go with a few friends and just strip it back to the core experience.

I did once have a sniper come find find me after a game to find out what I was shooting at him with. He had a good laugh when he saw that was a little 10" M4.
