  1. I'm with you on the VHS-2. I've wanted one for a while and that video reminded me of how cool it looks. You're right, M4s are the worst to work on. I've kept mine as simple as possible. No fake bolt, no writing bolt release, no ambi selector. I've come close to cutting off the ring on the gearbox for the mag release and working out a printed solution. So to take the gearbox out I only have to take off the upper, buffer tube and grip. The G&P also fixes some issues like the wobbly outer barrel, sorting gearbox alignment and retained receiver pins.
  2. Kind of the opposite of of a recent thread, what's a gun that you absolutely love even though you know it's bad. Maybe you live the look but the performance is terrible, it's impractical for airsoft out maybe deep down you just know that it's not worth the money you've spent in it. I'll start. LMGs. They're big, they're heavy and they're generally pretty poorly designed. You spend £400-500 on the gun plus a box mag, plus upgrades and it won't perform any better than an ARP with a drum mag. But God DAMN does it feel good to be the guy with the big gun, at least until lunch time. MP7s. On paper they're the perfect airsoft gun. They have just the right barrel length, just the right amount of modularity and they look so cool. But airsoft companies just can't seem to get them right. The full sized ones generally perform ok at best and while the TM is pretty good they all seem to suffer with durability issues. Not that any of this is going to stop me from getting one, I just need to work out which one is with the investment. Finally DMRs. You spend all this extra money for maybe 10-20 extra metres and in return you get limited by your rof and med. Won't stop me spending way too much on my SCAR though.
  3. Can't comment on the prices although they seem high to me. The whole ad is just a mess though. Probably the worst pictures I've seen on the classifieds, smeary, no close ups so you can't see what he's selling, the pictures are basically the same photo. Then there's the description. Vague and lacking details that would really want to know when buying second hand gbbrs.
  4. Had a bit of a relapse last couple of days. I've eaten like crap and haven't gotten out enough, haven't drunk enough water and had about 6 hours sleep in the last two days. Needless to say it's taken a physical and mental toll which can end up becoming a cycle as I end up beating myself up over it. I'll try to do better tomorrow.
  5. I think now matter what we say you should go for it. There aren't enough completely custom guns like this around so don't let strangers on the internet discourage you. Go for it, if it works, great, if it doesn't, learn from it. I want to try doing my own custom pistol like this, just need to find the right internals for it.
  6. I actually lost a bunch of weight when my partner was pregnant (no not because she ate all my food!) She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so she had to make some changes to keep her and the baby healthy and of course I made the same changes to support her. We got a diabetic's cook book and followed a lot of the advice in there. Cutting down on sugar, smaller portion sizes, finding healthy snacks to have instead of chocolate or cake switching to wholemeal flour products like bread and pasta and brown rice. All really simple and doable changes that resulted in me losing a stone in about 6 months even though I wasn't doing nearly enough exercise at the time.
  7. I wasn't bashing keto diets specifically, I just meant that I didn't want people advising done of the more extreme diets or athlete's diets to people who wouldn't necessarily benefit from them and keto is one that gets brought up a lot. I'm massively cutting down my sugar and carb intake myself.
  8. That looks like just the sort of thing I need to be doing. Going to have to try it
  9. I mean it tells me what I needed to know. It's pretty consistently accurate judging from the times I could see the BBs flight path and looks like a smooth and easy to operate bolt at UK limits. Seems to be pretty quiet too but obviously that's hard to tell accurately from the video, especially with his weird asmr voiceover. I don't have the funds to sink into a vsr or striker money pit build so this seems perfect for me.
  10. Waiting for hands on reviews before I get one myself, gives me the chance to save up for it lol.
  11. This is so overpriced that I can get a return train ticket to the nearest airsoft shop and buy everything included here and I still would have spent less than this.
  12. I'd like to get to the point of doing marathons. For now I'm only built for more sedate speeds so I've been going on a lot of hikes. Keeps the moths out of some of my airsoft kit until I can get back to a game too.
  13. After seeing a discussion on another thread I had the idea for a thread dedicated to those of us who want to lose weight, get physically fitter or just generally live healthier. Whether you're getting fit for airsoft, using airsoft as a way to improve your health or you're already fit and want to help and encourage others, you're all welcome to give advice or ask questions. I will say though, try to avoid promoting things like keto diets and intensive CrossFit type things just because they aren't for everyone and aren't always healthy as an entry level or more casual non-athlete.
  14. That guy sounds like a Darwin award waiting to happen
  15. I guess this is more a case of a gun that you know is bad but you love it anyway. It does feel good having a teammate call you over and ask you to lay down suppressing fire on a position.
  16. I mean ok own one so can't really say I hate it but machine guns, lmgs and saws. You're paying twice the price to carry twice the weight and you're getting something that performs maybe as well as a stock G&G with a drum mag. Add onto this the known numerous issues with the gearboxes, box mags and hop up units and you start to wonder why you bothered.
  17. Has anyone experimented with using using a longer inner barrel and npas to keep the FPS down. My hypothesis is that it should give better consistency and gas efficiency. I imagine these benefits would be marginal at best but the real improvements should be reduced wear on the hop rubber meaning you can use a softer rubber for longer
  18. That price is hilarious when it looks and reportedly performs worse than the AAP-01, with less aftermarket support and modularity.
  19. Interesting. I'll talk to my dad about it as he's the one who has the printers
  20. Pla is more brittle. ABS works really well because it flexes so can take hits better, it's easy to sand and paint and you can make very strong larger components by gluing parts together with plastic cement instead of a normal glue which leaves a fracture point.
  21. Reminds me of a video Airsoft Cam Man did a while back. There was a fuckabout game at the end of the day. Basically you didn't have to call your hit until you couldn't bear the pain anymore.
  22. ABS is the way to go for airsoft. You can also use a bunch of those foam floor tiles from Halfords to make an enclosure. It helps regulate the temperature of the print which is important for printing abs
  23. Those are some pretty clean looking prints. It's that with the printer completely stock? What's it printed in?
