  2. Keep lights to a minimum. Monentary switches, red filters etc And absolutely do not light up full beam behind your faction general wearing black Angel wings as he sneaks into enemy HQ …. but as noted above there are night games and night games Some night games are full on night battles, others are summer evenings with a sunset Been there, done that (Day and night) And those both ways are: 1) ooh pretty 2) I can see exactly where you’re shooting from
  3. Chrono rules should be clear, and the penalty should be fair Zero tolerance is a problem area, especially in this case where the zero tolerance was for a BB that was not in use by the player, and there is no apparent sneakyness of the player to use the offending BB Shouldn’t the owner have gone home as they had the offending BBs? The end goal is that players fire BBs within a set limit. If the rules are for any of a number of sizes then the site should be testing at all sizes. In paintball a number of years ago we created a set of rules for the mix of HPA and CO2 use. The legal energy limit in foot pounds or joules translates to a velocity of a little over 300fps. As an industry the common limit is 280fps, but at competitive tournaments 300fps is permitted. Under a Scenario common rule set we defined the rules as: Standard Chrono Limits 280 FPS for markers running on HPA. Minimum of three shots over the chrono with all three shots registering below the limit. 250 FPS for markers running on CO2. Minimum of three shots over the chrono with all three shots registering below the limit. 250 FPS for games run exclusively indoors. The lower CO2 limit was to allow for spiking. Chrono from a steady state at 250 and a spike may occur within 280 If I spot checked a CO2 player at 260 etc then I would allow that for a spike - but I would still require a pause and rechrono - if the 3 shots were not with 250 then it’s back to the safe zone for sorting out. Players we’re also advised to keep checking throughout the day, and I’d have my eye out to pick on players as the day warmed. Going to the chrono station has full tolerance - that’s where checking and adjusting should take place. But if you spot me in game walking towards you with a chrono and you sprint back to the chrono station then I’m not tolerant
  4. Alternatively ….. it’s only taken 5 years for ‘internet advice’ to get a right answer
  5. I think that the model may be PMR legal, but there’s a lot about that get sold in PMR frequencies but aren’t fully compliant If it’s set to PNT frequencies, and only programmable within those. Plus power limited and can’t have the aerial replaced for greater range etc then they are PMR compliant Those that just get a smaller aerial and programmed aren’t truly PMR compliant But of course it’s not a problem if nobody is caught / prosecuted. But there are great PMRs out there for a good price. A licence is cheap enough if someone does want the extra range and different frequencies.
  6. Many will suggest Baofengs, but for legal use they require a licence. PMR handsets are on free to use frequencies. Any PMR handset can talk to any PMR handset

  8. She wasn’t a prostitute (angry cop does clarify that part way through the video - but possibly needed to start with that theme to illustrate a point) There are a few leaks / or releases of information on the whole subject. I believe that the first outing was the ‘leak’ of a social media message that a large number of personnel have had to be advised to pop to the clinic, due to an individual who had been signed into camp numerous times (31 sound familiar?) Then the videos appeared (either due to circulation that eventually ends up in a leak or due to the attention from the leaked message and getting their 15 minutes of fame) The videos have nothing ‘wrong’, but distribution/publishing without permission could be an offence, otherwise it’s just bad privacy & ‘bringing into disrepute’ But the outcome of their being pulled from deployment is not purely down to this incident. Theres more to it from previous issues in the unit, and unless the letter was officially released CGSs letter has also been leaked to the public domain
  9. I remember those volume limiters in village halls etc …. Happy days
  10. @Lozart @Rogerborg Without going into a quote edit session …. What these guys just said A site manages to run under the criteria within their risk assessment, associated mitigations and the insurance premium that comes with them The disclaimers signed state that players understand what’s happening and agree to comply In the event of an accident the liability is not offset by any content signed up to in the disclaimer, but it’s factored in If John Smiths actions injure Fred Bloggs then Fred’s first point of call is the site The NHS will pick out the start of it, then Fred will be seeking private follow up treatment. Ideally the sites insurance will pay out, and the NHS could pursue costs as well (I even received a bill once from the Highways agency for clearing the road following an accident - handed it to my solicitor and I could forget about it) John Smith could be pursued by the sites insurers - which flags the potential need for personal insurance in case you’re found liable
  11. Lady Winwoods Maggot* AKA the Maggots, at the back garden of The Avon, Salisbury. The drummer had a problem, quite a big problem, if I recall correctly he was there for the first song and the last song (plus encores) but disappeared inbetween. The moment they discover that their four piece had become a trio: After a while I made the periodic trip to the urinals, to meet him exiting. He had not been well, however as drummers are well known for their gentile and clean living nature he had cleaned all traces and left an immaculate bowl - though heavily packed with toilet paper and water line up to the brim. * in their words: Since 1993 Lady Winwoods Maggot have travelled afar spreading their distorted gospel. A unique, anarchic sound regurgitating traditional transatlantic music, blended with their own material. From dark tragic songs to the satirical and ridiculous interspersed with instrumentals. Incorporating Mandolin, Banjo, Guitar, Bass and Drums Lady Winwoods Maggot channel THE DEVILS’ MUSIC!
  12. I’m with @Rogerborgon mitigating the less common potential problem If it’s foreseeable then it needs to be balanced Back in the day it was mk9s for everything, then mk5s, mk3s, and onto thermobarics and different recipes & card/paper roll pattern for various combinations of fast/slow detonation, volume/flash etc In paintball the rules have always been that goggles are to be worn as designed with no modification, with chin strap fitted etc. But players put in a second head strap and cut off or don’t fit the chin strap. The extra head strap if fitted properly tightens the goggle. But if fitted improperly tensions the back of the head, and causing the goggles to fly away if making a superman dive into a tournament snake or running and tripping on a tree root. Rare and unlikely - but as photographer I’ve watched too many marshals jumping onto a mask less player - and failed to take the photo worrying about if they will land before balls hit But it took the freak accident of two players to pop around an inflatable, poke barrel into face and flick goggles off. The damage was ‘only’ a circular cut below the eye This then prompted enforcement of chin straps - for a couple of seasons It’s been noted that the discussion is about tag rounds but not mortars. The relevant point is the projectile. What is the risk of that projectile, on its potential flight? The same stands for a mortar - which isn’t directed, so you can argue that if it’s unobstructed on the way up then it’s ‘fine’ on the way down …… but that’s good to depend on it’s mass … does it carry a payload? what could it do to head/face protection?
  13. An alternative headline would be: ”British police don’t shoot teenager following reports of man with gun”
  14. Should have gone to the Baron, and decapitate with a ninja beret
  15. @Mr. No_Face For a real life situation that has occurred …… Keep facing the gobby chavs, side & back step making space, keeping arms down and talking calmly As space is running out, step forward, press palms ahead, change tone of voice Didn’t die a horrible death
  16. Back away making space Protect areas Arms down guard the crotch area, and give you full control of your arms with full strength to push back Raised arms are a sign of aggression, lowered arms and the palms of your hands are an element of de-escalation Raised arms can be slapped to the side bringing the attackers fists etc towards your face / body I dropped off and picked up at martial arts classes
  17. That’s a woman backing away with her hands raised, which then get slapped to the side, (Unless she’s being approached by Jabba they are far to wide apart), and if she’s a tranny her testicals are exposed
  18. …. Which is an aggressive stance, and also takes more force to push back with raised arms than the defensive position with low arms and pushing back with the palm at the centre of mass …. says an over 50 year old
  19. Watch out, you might be interacting with paintballers and not realise Paintball and airsoft are the same thing - shooting people legally But airsoft is the dressing up version with realistic guns, as opposed to the realistic dressing up versions of paintball with realistic guns Different people play different things in different ways - but generally just do what they enjoy Back to the topic of sites that may run both paintball and airsoft. Thats a good thing, it’s even better if they do more such as laser tag, low impact paintball, perhaps Nerf, clay pigeon, quads. You might find all the gates locked and some funny looking blacked out windows nipping in A site that does one thing is at risk, even if they do it well they are missing out on other revenue that can enhance revenue Airsoft management should be capable of managing paintball players and Vice versa. Dickhead management are dickheads no matter their preferred flavour There are differences between paintball players and airsoft players - but that is equally the same between airsoft players and airsoft players
  20. They say you love it or hate it, but there is middle ground. On eating I would be on the hate side, but I can easily not put it into my mouth. Marmite to me is the scent I would wake up to in the great party house of old Amesbury town and brings back many fond memories waking up on that floor …… including the final occasion: Unusually fond as: At the initial more ‘public’ party in the function room of the Stonehenge Inn Durrington I made a new lady friend, and became separated from my group. I failed to interpret the status of her male friend and should have been subject to the minimum of a punch in the face. Making a tactical departure, and considering taxi waiting times, I walked with other new friends/strangers from Durrington to Amesbury expecting to meet the after party in full swing But I discovered the crowd struggling with a ladder and attempting to launch one of the smaller members of the group from the highest reach of the ladder into the upper open part of an upstairs window. The ladder almost came crashing down as the launcher lost his balance sending the launchee out of sight. A crashing noise was heard from inside then silence. At this point I was updated on the dramatics I had missed outside the front of the Inn whilst I was otherwise occupied making a new friend The Mr X & Mrs X of the house had opted to open up about the problems in their marriage that had previously been in silence, and both revealed that they were both seeing others. Major explosions and drams Mr X had gone off in a huff, presumably to wake up his Miss Y, and Mrs X had called her Mr Y and was left by the crowd once he arrived for Mr Y to calm Mrs X ….. and she sent them ahead with the plan to catch up The crowd bundled into all available taxis and then realised that all keyholders were AWOL After some further delay there was a rattling and banging from the inside of the front door Still no joy - no key found inside for the mortise lock Updated instructions were yelled through the letter box for key searches, before an inspirational call cried out “Open the back door and come round the side and unbolt the gate” (I would possibly have preferred watching another ladder incident to scale the gate) We were in The after party became a sit around session updating all on the various events until Mrs X & Mr Y arrived ….. also with no key, and a few minutes of letter box directions to find the spare before falling back to the side gate route No waking up to marmite this time as no sleep was had, but there became a point in time where the toast and marmite / buttered toast began. So the usual scent brought some normality A recce party was sent out to retrieve the kids from the sitters house around the corner & the rest of the morning was occupied by a group of zombie party goers distracting the kids with repeated viewings of Finding Nemo (My first viewing - and hearing the words ‘just keep swimming just keep swimming’ also bring the fond memories just like marmite) During one of the viewings there was a knock at the door, and a confused courier was wary about handing a parcel to a strange crowd as they informed him that the front door can’t be opened and that we all broke in round the back last night. Probably too much detail, but he finally handed it over and surprisingly didn’t send the police To sum up - I’m a marmite hater but scent of marmite lover PS After the dramatics things went amicably, the kids built mum a downstairs bedroom and Mr & Mrs lived seperately together much better They divorced, the party house was sold and they all lived happily ever after Party life was never the same again
  21. I don’t trust people. Visually they look the same, and on closer inspection it would not be easy to know the difference between an emptied cartridge that still has a primer and a genuine deactivated inert cartridge. Even with the primer still in place there’s not likely to be a negligent discharge without some effort, but I’d be wary of someone just telling me they are fully inert. There are valid uses for an inert dummy, but that can include clear markings and unusual colours or a film prop etc where they would possibly at the moment want manufactured dummy inerts rather than modifications. Unless there’s a real need for close up realism then I’d prefer someone’s dressing up to be based on used cartridges or to have a hole where the primers cap would be https://www.cobra-ts.eu/en/blog-article/inert-deactivated-or-neutralized-ammunition-what-is-it-and-what-is-the-law-saying-about-it
  22. eBayBanned are/were a good little outlet. Not shady, but a good bit of marketing based on rule changes on eBay They are still around as ebAirsoft.com Asian outlets get a good amount of stick, and the same goes for AliBaba.com and AliExpress.com There are good sellers and bad sellers, plus things can just go wrong with anything and the support on that will vary. I will aim to buy locally where possible, and also pick a favourite retailer asking them if they are willing to import on my behalf (which if they have the existing supply chain can work well) But I will also decide on a case by case basis on the item and my needs. If I want it quickly and after sales support then I’m going to pay for those. If I’m not in a hurry, am not going to use support and the saving is worth considerations at customs then I’ll look around imports such as Asia etc You do need to be ‘internet wise’ on where you’re buying from I’ve been having a lot of conversations about a couple of subjects with someone in particular recently which included that ‘Chinas just cheap crap’. Whereas Chiba does provide ‘cheap crap’, and also ‘cheap quality’. It depends on the quality control and the corporate customer who is getting the items made in China - it’s relatively very cheap to run businesses in many parts of China, which could be low labour costs of that market (or additional exploitation of labour on top of that) He’s not internet wise, and has had dodgy payments taken a few times. He stopped using eBay and random sellers to go to Amazon - ‘Because that’s secure’ finding himself paying more for cheap crap losing out by using dodgy Amazon sellers rather than Amazon itself ebAirsoft / eBayBanned always worked out well for me, and very often much quicker than expected AliBaba.com is aimed for use as a wholesaler and AliExpress.com as a marketplace like eBay and Amazon sellers. My experience with these Asian sellers is that they often get send via free government subsidised postage for ‘commercial zones’ which is why the postage doesn’t shoot up in price unless you are after fast international postage, and that if it disappears, is broken or wrong I have had easy refunds and/or replacements. It’s costly for them to take returns, and as long as they are a bulk seller rather than bedroom trader then the customer service of a loss on an individual sale is worth it
  23. I’ve just dropped in an edit, as you’ve referred to blanks which are not Airsoft
