  1. On the use of strobes it’s a very tricky matter I was surprised to play a game once where we were allowed to use them, and we did - using a lights strobe mode to distract along a hallway We have also used strobe lighting and strobing pyro for a couple of events. This is quite a nightmare to plan for, ensuring that no players or staff have photosensitive epilepsy or other related conditions , then add on the worry of someone who does not yet know that they have photosensitive epilepsy / other conditions and also the added risk of all the distractions and added confusion that it brings to the gameplay The easy answer for a site (and it’s insurance) is to just say no
  2. Ditto Double ditto Either you want to worry majorly about the battery in there Or you have previously burnt your desk
  3. Also known as hat size adjustment foam, to the customers of a particular store
  4. We have had one school shooting in the UK, and some mass shootings We didn’t take it well to see dead children in the news The OP decided he didn’t want his gun collection at the time
  5. Two way hip flask Cheap side for sharing decent side for myself
  6. I’m out of vinyl/rubber wear after I recently off loaded the remainder of my last bondage auction lot to a lead singer/guitarist. I’ve a load of leather gear in assorted sizes which will be available once he’s checked them out Or is that the wrong kind of vinyl?
  7. Don’t ask how I know this …… but liquid latex / plasti-dip are useful products There are devices that exist which could possibly be used to open up inner tubes to make it a bit easier to drop in the device But having those in you’re toolbox tend to raise eyebrows more than liquid latex
  8. Still have mine When the EU passports came out you could buy black/blue covers, perhaps someone will come out with burgundy covers ???
  9. I’ve been meaning to hop in since seeing the title of the thread, and making my assumptions that is was about DIY pyrotechnics, particularly as I was seeing mk1 & mk2 in the updates but I’ve been busy in the lead up to today As per my accompanying photo I can just about squeeze in some time to properly read and comment ….. I’m relieved that @Jez_Armstrongis fairly safe from self destruction and a terrorism arrest I’m liking both ideas. Mk1 makes good use of an existing product Mk2 builds on that My main dislike of mk1 was the need to stop it, but it seems like you can crack that (as a site prop I’d be less worried about it being on until reset - but it would depend on the environment as an alarm in a confined underground room is a bit different to woodland) Good idea, good fun project. …… and it’s up to the site if they let you use it The key problem with devices is losing them, shutting them up and retrieving them You appear to be thinking along those line
  10. But we wanted the black ones …. That weren’t black Was this dress made from recycled British or EU passports? Made in Poland By a French / Dutch company using Italian ink on Spanish paper …. Possibly Though the passport office won’t give details on where exactly passports are manufactured, only that the contract is with Thales group and the personal details are printed in the UK https://factcheckni.org/topics/europe/are-uk-passports-produced-by-non-uk-companies-2/
  11. Award yourself a biscuit (a fancy one) for taking the effort to update us Great result
  12. Shoot them It is not overshooting if you shoot someone who is already eliminated, it is overshooting to continuously send in a barrage at the same person not giving them a chance to get out If you play any game under my rule sets then sneaky players are encouraged If a player is just bimbling along they may be a sneaky player trying to not look agressive They could be an eliminated player not showing (Or they could be an eliminated player deliberately obstructing and cheating) The eliminated player must accept being shot if they are not showing they are eliminated. It’s their problem If they don’t want to be shot then they can put their hand up (or show a dead rag)
  13. Try being subtle in a corner of Waitrose car park when the guy who was bringing a prop has just called to tell you he’s ill and no longer coming, and you have about an hour before picking up another couple of guys and still need to reproduce the prop This prop being a briefcase needing to be filled with clear sandwich bags of flour
  14. The website doesn’t list the specifics https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/96291-longest-airsoft-target-shot …. and the video is a ‘recreation’, so the video contents may or may not differ from the ‘real’ attempt Official records will usually have a set of rules (such as the settings and also I would guess a flat horizontal shot to avoid tricks such as angling upwards to add range) However, it is all of course a PR stunt with all the parts used being available to buy from the record holder
  15. We’re a fine example to the younger generation But is the best advice to try to take more care of yourself in the younger years, or just sod it as bodies fall apart anyway ?
  16. @slipperysquid That age thing is getting nearer to the wrong side of the 50s, and I’m in pretty good health if me & my doctor ignore the clapped out parts of my body Mine is partly down to the odd car & motorbike crash and also cracking my skull open as a child, but mostly is fair wear and tear Hydration is mentioned above, it’s amazing how much difference that makes to recovering from a weekend. I used to suffer around Tuesday / Wednesday (rarely on a Monday) Which I attributed to my body telling me it can’t take what it used to, but hydration & electrolites cured those failings. Unless I physically trash myself and then need time to recover then I’m all good Depending on what I’m doing, I’ll try to plan ahead such as an elasticated knee support slightly loose below the knee under my jeans in the morning then pulling it up in place when doing heavy lifting. Or with some tougher activity using a knee brace for solid support Look up Project Payne, and take note that it’s not supposed to be about funky new Virtus load carrying systems but is about carrying the right load in the optimum manner https://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/overburdened-infantry-soldier/ You will see that as equipment & gear becomes ‘lighter’ that soldiers just fill it up with more, so that a unit has in its possession everything it might possibly need, but won’t us it up As players we do the same, when a gun is more efficient many don’t carry enough to play one game session but just keep on carrying more which will last the day rather than reloading back in the safe zone in between Carry less, we distributed, on a body that’s cared for properly and at best your body & health improve or at worst they don’t degrade as rapidly
  17. I discovered the ‘talent’ of being able to turn around by popping my knee out, leaving my foot facing forwards, collapsing in a heap and laying down on the ground holding my knee back together for a few minutes saying “I’m fine, f f f f f, I’m fine” and then getting up to find a convenient seat
  18. You would be ‘altering the colour’ But won’t be ‘making it into a RIF’ Provided the body remains > 50% of one of the approved colours then it remains an IF https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/2606/regulation/7/made An IF can be transparent or >50% brightly coloured 2) The colours specified in this paragraph are— (a)bright red; (b)bright orange; (c)bright yellow; (d)bright green; (e)bright pink; (f)bright purple; and (g)bright blue. Orange tips are meaningless in UK legislation
  19. The advice stands but the thread title is wrong
  20. Their location information references a sign at the entrance, but that might be that on game days they put up a sign https://booking.riftairsoft.com/game/361 Location Info Location: Abingdon Oxfordshire, OX13 6BX Abingdon Airfield Honey Bottom Lane (Look for the RIFT Airsoft Parking Sign) Dry Sandford Abingdon Oxfordshire OX13 6BX In general sites give good, bad or indifferent information on how to get there
  21. Be aware ……. On a forum many years ago someone posted about their transport problems and one of our guys contacted them offering a lift He then received a phone call from an irate mother about why he trying to arrange picking up her schoolboy son
  22. This is the wrong forum really as it’s an air pistol rather than airsoft, but the interests may cross over Theres one for sale here for £50: https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/air-pistols/diana
  23. @dan The F mark is the official marking that it complies It must both be within limits and marked as compliant - just being within the limit isn’t good enough ………. A few years back people would just ignore the law and decide it didn’t apply to them, international paintball events would get run in Germany and players would just ignore the law or get an illiegal aftermarket F stamped onto the body Then became outraged the years when the police just sat waiting for people to turn up and impound their gear
