Another from me (and a mate) At anzio, tasked with retrieving an objective we found it on enemy hands. A group of 4-5 peeps were walking down a road in the open. Me and my mate were oitnumbered big time, but we had friendlies catching up to us, so we told them to keep the enemies busy whilst we went into the knee-deep reeds, through the woods to their flank, and hit them from the side without having to range anyone. After 5 minutes trek, with waterlogged clothes from the groin down, squelching boots etc. We emerged from the woods to find the enemies had turned around and wandered back the way they came, as our friendlies weren't doing a good job of keeping them busy in the open

Everyone has seen someone shift their eye pro to where it's useless, even during the safety brief after having just mentioned it. Myself- throwing a mk5, as I drew it back ready to throw I pointed the lot fuse at my neck and gave myself a nice (but thankfully not damaging) burn. Myself- running across a road from the trees towards a building to get inside before we get laced up and down. My mate goes first and gets to safety... I fall over in the road after forgetting about the drop after the first kerb and scuffed my serpa, broke a grenade pouch clip and made a plonker of myself. Made it into the building without getting hit though.

I don't know about those particular guns, but here's what I know: TM are the daddy of airsoft, many manufacturers actually clone what TM design because of its good design, making them the standard for others to meet. To this end, chances are, those guns are TM clones, and TM mags should fit (don't take my word though) Gas is usually simple enough, if the gun has a plastic/nylon/fibre slide (tm guns for example), use nothing more powerful than green gas (if it's in a green can, you're probably fine). Some people tone it down to 144a, a low power gas in summer to prevent the higher temperature, and therefore higherv power, damaging the slide. Of it has a metal slide (like WE guns for example), you can use whatever you want. I personally use propane because it's cheap and I go through a lot using a gas blowback rifle, but everyone has different experiences. BB weight: you can use whatever you want. My pistol certainly struggles with heavy ammo in the hop up department, it wil just about lift a 0.25 but not a 0.30. I wouldn't worry about 25s, as almost all guns will lift them with no modification. You may not need heavier ammo though, depending on your play style. If like me you only use your sidearm in confined spaces, range doesn't matter, and the heavier ammo travels slower, so sometimes a lighter BB is best (like trying to hit a moving target at close range) In terms of holsters, I have only ever used a Blackhawk serpa holster, which is accessible incredibly fast and easy. When it was mounted on my chest I could draw the pistol whilst sprinting, not sure how easy that is with a fabric holster.

I lost an o ring from one of my fill valves, I even found it in my dump pouch and threw it away before I realised where it came from. Mag still fills and holds gas, it's just a bit louder when I'm filling it

If you're ever preparing to do something like this, you should be prepared to modify parts, if you don't already have a dremel and some simple tools to make things fit where they don't want to, you ought to get one. I'd personally just buy an AEG and play with it later. I have no idea how easy it is to fit other box shells in other guns

When the crazy people trade in their AKs and suicide vests for airsoft guns and BFGs, then its justified. Until then, some politicians need to get a grip and start applying common sense and reason to their work

Shame there's no report button on the mobile version (unless I'm just daft and didn't see it )

Well an APC or something would be cool to milsim in, fit an airsoft MG to the roof and rig the main cannon barrel to a tag launcher Santa better bring a few dozen barrels of diesel to run it though, and a crate of tags for good measure

Don't pile the hate on, but I'd reccomend a WE p226. My 228 (essentially the same) is built like a bomb case and only ever let me down when there was snow on the ground or when I abused it badly. Other than that, it's been dropped, kicked, bashed and generally given a hard time and it still keeps going. A good hop rubber and barrel wouldn't go amiss though (bought a maple leaf set from milspec for about 18 quid and now it shoots more accurately than I can shoot it)

Also, think this was missed by the guys before: Don't charge a Lipo battery by the main connector (whether it's deans or tamiya), instead use a proper charger designed for Lipo batteries via the balance port (dinky little connector with three (2s) or four (3s) pins. Charging via the main connector will eventually lead to the battery falling our of balance, one cell having a higher charge than the other(s) which can cause damage to the battery, and if use continues, Possibly a fire risk. Tl:dr but a Lipo charger for any Lipo battery. Any smart charger will do, So long as it balances the cells. They aren't expensive at all. 20 quid will get a sensible choice

Yes, declare the goods. Else your case will be destroyed and you get exactly 0 airsoft toys. RIFs are illegal to import so your baggage will be held until you prove your defence (UKARA should work. But I'm not certain. If contact the airport as well to check) so it's best to make it abundantly clear to anyone opening the case that it contains an RIF which is being imported legally (don't advertise it on the outside of the case unless the airport/airline instructs you to)

Don't forget the glitter and neon! That reminds me now, did anyone else see Harley Quinn toting an MG around in the Arkham Knight game and wonder if you could make an airsoft version... Just me?
-
Yea, but the internal dimensions are probably smaller than that

I know its late and its probably done already. But no legislation or regulation says it has to be 51% bright colours, that's just a common interpretation. As long as the IF looks unrealistic both in a gun case and when you're using it, then it's an IF rather than an RIF. It relies a little on common sense and judgement, so its best to be on the safe side and paint a little more than you think, but then again, no police force will be hunting you down because you missed a spot when you sprayed your toy gun Edit: didn't see the second page had descended into chaos I'm contemplating a rainbow neon gun powered by a second Lipo, since I like to sneak around in dark buildings, glitter and colours just won't be enough to dazzle my enemies. A few little neon lights up and down the rails TRON style should do the trick

Aye, if its still unrealistically coloured then you're fine within the letter of the law

I used a PEQ 15 battery box with a we Europe block Lipo, a little on the tight side but worked a treat

Gas Tanaka Sic 93 (lookalike M93R) FIRING ON IT'S OWN!?!
TheGrover replied to BrutalLemon's topic in Gas Guns
I'm not familiar with the pistol, so I don't know what the gold piece is I'm afraid Did the pin stay back when you let the slide forward again? If so, and pressing the trigger pushes it forwards instantly, then your trigger is working somewhat well. It could be getting fouled by something but if the pin behaves itself I'd start looking at the magazine and the mag well -
Gas Tanaka Sic 93 (lookalike M93R) FIRING ON IT'S OWN!?!
TheGrover replied to BrutalLemon's topic in Gas Guns
Try this With the magazine removed, press and release the trigger With your longest finger, reach inside the mag well and feel for the firing pin, it should be positioned right behind the valve when the mag is in Whilst feeling the pin, pull the slide back Does the pin move backwards out of the mag well? How far back does it move? -
Hop being applied to one side of a BB is a common problem, it's probably one of the usual culprits causing your problem, nub catching one side of the hop window or something like that. Otherwise, check your hop arm is fine and the barrel isn't twisted in the hop assembly (if it's twisted clockwise when looking I'm the direction of the BB travel, the nub might be catching on the edge of the barrel window)

Gas Tanaka Sic 93 (lookalike M93R) FIRING ON IT'S OWN!?!
TheGrover replied to BrutalLemon's topic in Gas Guns
Sounds like you have a bad case of a trigger happy poultergeist... In all seriousness. I think it may be either your outlet valve on the mag, or your firing pin is jammed forwards. Can you try another mag? If you push an empty mag into the gun, is there any resistance just before it locks? (like the outlet valve getting caught on the firing pin) -
Market research in relation to education: Drones in Airsoft?
TheGrover replied to NopeDK's topic in General Discussion
Drones would certainly be cool. Any drone worth having would be expensive enough to keep away from most wallet warriors anyway, so you'd probably see them used by site operators (like mortar tubes are generally) I DoD actually see an episode of The Gadget Show where an airsoft GBB pistol was fixed to a professional drone and used to "gently encourage" a jogger to run faster, it seemed from the footage to be a viable shooting platform, but the two posts above mine still play, a drone stable enough and safe enough for use in airsoft that is also tough enough to take a few hits (as well as the inevitable bumps and bruises) will be very expensive, and probably not worth the investment for a site owner, though I am more than happy to be proven wrong. Use for surveillance of the site however, one drone per team operates by a small team feeding Intel to squads properly would be a fantastic experience -
Yes. It's a good gas. Arguably better than most airsoft green gas. One major benefit is that it doesn't use silicone oil as lubricant, which settles in the bottles/mags over time leaving the top of the magazine drier. In place, Abbey use UPL, which supposedly behaves the same in use but remains dissolved in the medium (propane I'm pretty sure) rather than settling. It's not the most powerful gas out there, and I'm not sure what you mean by sustained fps count, do you mean how many shots you can get off before the fps starts to decline or how consistent the muzzle velocity is?

Yes. But I don't know of any adaptor, so you'd need to make your own. You can remove the rear sight by loosening two screws in the slide and replace it with an adaptor with a little 20mm rail on top, but you'd probably have to design the adaptor and get it made on shapeways or something
