  1. How do you mean swapped? Can you post a picture of your rail? Making a picatinny involves adding material rather than removing it, so it's not a simple job with a dremel
  2. Ok, just clear my head. You have an ics sa80 right? Those should come with a 19mm rail on top, so does your susat fit a 19mm dovetail or a 20mm picatinny?
  3. Don't bother with a killflash as a lens protector, I bought one and it didn't even try to stop the bb I fired at it as a test. The bb didn't even get scratched
  4. Its a dead sight I'm afraid, you'll have to buy a new one I personally use a little polycarbonate shield and it works a treat
  5. Blind firing is dangerous because you may put your muzzle behind someone's safety glasses or in their ear and shoot them from point blank. Strobe torches do not cause any harm. And if you get shot while using your strobe torch, it won't hurt any more than if it hit you without using one. If you mean someone closer to the shooter could get hurt, remember there will be a big silhouette indicating that someone is very close to you... In case you didn't hear them shooting you
  6. I rushed a corridor I shouldn't have and got peppered by 4 enemy players... Then got mediced by another about a minute later Nobody was expecting to get shot by someone who was hit a few minutes earlier. I got 5 or 6 people before I ran away laughing and nearly got hit again by friendly fire
  7. Co2 is still affected by temperature, it should be quite similar to GG but someone else should verify that. The problem with co2 however is that they shoot too hot even if it's -5
  8. I just used the adapter, since the rail is lower than the cheekrest you'll need a riser anyway.
  9. Yea, take the valve out, drop the whole thing in a bottle of silicone oil overnight then put it back
  10. There's only one susat sight I know that takes a 19mm dovetail, every other sight sits on a 20mm weaver or picatinny.
  11. I didn't get it either, but the chrono doesn't lie I think that it has something to do with pressure escaping around the bb in the barrel crown (Orga barrels have very long crowns) but I don't k is for sure
  12. I wouldn't worry about your fps. Mine is fine with the standard nozzle and propane. I actually get a higher fps with heavier bbs, with about 260 on a 0.2g and about 280 with a 0.3g. Go figure All you need to do it break down your nozzle assembly, give the nozzle o-rings a good dose of silicone, and lube up the cylinder in the bolt. This makes the seal inside the bolt almost perfect and gave me about 50 fps more
  13. using the carbine kit, i guess you aren't going for a DMR, but rather want an accurate and versatile rifle. I use a standard length G5 with a 260mm Orga Magnus (mock supressor to cover the 50mm or so that protrudes beyond the outer barrel) with a prommy purple bucking flat hopped with a firefly nub. i shoot 0,3s (using the last of my Nuprols now before swapping over to Blaster Devils to see the difference) and shoot through a fairly standard Chinese 4x32 when my target is more than 20m away. I cannot recommend my setup enough, considering a GBBR like the G5 is never going to win any accuracy awards, my G5 is shooting more accurately than my AEG ICS L85, and it really does justify the magnified sight, allowing me to shoot with much greater precision. if the first shot misses slightly, i can see how the BB flies and adjust for a couple of follow up shots, by which time the target is either hit or they've got into cover I haven't tried an R hop or anything fancy like that, but the Orga makes installing a flat hop about as easy as possible, you don't need to modify the bucking at all, just turn it 90 degrees and put a different nub in there. I'm actually going to flat hop the L96 I'm picking up soon as its been converted to use an AEG barrel, bucking and nub. Im also thinking about making a spacer for my barrel. I noticed during my last skirmish that the G5 allows the barrel to move ever so slightly inside the outer barrel. it wouldn't make any difference on an AEG but with the recoil of a GBBR it might make a big difference. ill be trying it on mine ready for my next skirmish (bring on AI 500!)
  14. 7.4 Lipo With the stock handguard you have enough space for just about any battery you can find. With the RIS, you either need a tiny little Lipo or an external battery box
  15. I'm still using my 9mm blanks, they might cost more than .209s but they're a long way from being expensive. I might go back to 209s because I still have over 70 that I hardly use. There isn't much difference between the two really bit the 9mms are significantly louder, especially in small spaces. I found 209s were 5p a throw and 9mms were 40p a throw (£5 for 100 and £20 for 50 respectively) it's a big difference but neither one is expensive compared to single use pyrotechnics which are often around £3 a throw
  16. I second the 4x for long range. Being able to see your bb in flight is the only way to reach out to the end of your range with any degree of wind without hosing down an area. If you're using an AEG, then the latter is an option. With a GBBR, you're stuck with semi auto and you need the precision that a magnified optic offers. It does come at a cost though. Raising the gun to aim down the sight takes a little longer with magnification than with a dot sight, but in the extreme close range where it matters a lot, I don't even bother with the backup sights and I just "feel" where I'm shooting. At a push I'll turn on my torch so I can see the bb flight clearly, but for most of the time I'm either using the scope for long range, using the backup irons for the close /medium range and not bothering at all in CQB
  17. I think what you meant to type was that you are a perfectly law abiding citizen and would never dream of contradicting the stalwart legislation of our fine nation... Right?
  18. Hey, if the laws made sense, it wouldn't feel like home
  19. In technicality, it is illegal to do. In practice, you will never get in any kind of trouble if you use it properly for skirmishes and don't wave it around in public. And UKARA isn't a licence, it's a defence which just happens to be recognised by UK customs and police. It's not necessary for airsoft but it is the most straightforward way for most people to get an RIF for skirmishing
  20. If you go home without sore knees and pulled tendons/ligaments you haven't been moving fast enough. Or you just weren't daft enough to play with a fully kitted out Osprey mk4 and still run like you're in a set of trackies
  21. It might vary from state to state. So exporting from a state with relaxed laws might let them get away with it. I don't know US law so I can't say for sure
  22. For us law it needs to be permanent. A flash hider will need to be glued on securely for example
  23. Doesn't your mp7 use a threaded flash hider? The ppsh will be hard and you might need to paint the steel
  24. For me, it's always to move faster than the enemy expects you to move. Of a flank is opened up for a moment, get behind the bad guys before they realise. I shoot more people in the back than the front in cqb
  25. Unfortunately, even though you can legally own a lethal weapon you still can't get hold of an RID unless you go through the rigmarole. It's not you that would break the law, but the seller who needs to keep within broken laws
