  2. Long as I haven't offended anyone... 😆 I have no intention of letting anyone shoot at me with lidl eyewear, they were only for target shooting. But I do get and accept the honest and decent advice. Thanks. On a different note, I brought the CYMA blue edition mp5 for sale on here and am very excited... Can't wait.

  4. Eye protection is something you should never cheap out on. I buy loads of stuff from Aliexpress (because it's great), but I will never buy eye protection from there, even though my general experience on the stuff I have bought from Aliexpress has been fantastic. For eyepro, I bought a pair of sawflys, a pair of heroshark's mesh goggles, and will get some Trittech glasses in the future. As I need prescription inserts, all of these options I think went into the triple digits since prescription inserts are pricey (the Trittechs will go into the multiple triple digits...), but 100% worth every penny.

  6. Is this still available?
  7. Thanks Nick. Was it easy to convert to HPA? Do you need to add anything to the HPA tank to keep the gun lubricated? I thought (green) gas had silicone lube in the gas to keep everything running smoothly. This is my first GBB and I am struggling with the lack of ammo capacity. It came with 3 mags and I have been burning through the 130 rounds in 15 mins so need to use ammo more sparingly which is difficult as I am used to carrying 6 x 120 round mid caps for a 2 hour woodland game. I agree with the immersion side, I moved from a 1200 round drum on the AEG to 6 x mid caps as I enjoy the mag changes and keeping an eye on how much ammo I’ve used. Someone kindly let me have a go with their G3 which I almost bought but decided I wanted something smaller and lighter, also the G3 mags were only 20mm rounds each and he carried 10 mags which weighed a ton, more realistic I suppose. I thought I would be able to hold my trigger finger back but the apache is so much fun to shoot and I like to get stuck in so I am burning through BB’s at the same rate as I do with my electric MP5. Do I slowly build up to have 8/10 45 round mags or go drum? Decisions, decisions.
  8. From one Mark to another......Welcome 🍻
  9. I never get bored of seeing an issue grab bag, ha. If you sit and look at it, there's a significant carrying capacity there. Like you'd need a decent sized chest rig to have 3 mag pouches, 2 frag, a smoke and maybe 2 med-large GPs and an admin pouch for the generic internal space of it. Might have to start being one of the recommendations for newbies - one and done gear purchase right there, no assembly required.
  10. It's a topic that gets discussed often in any good forum/arena of airsoft talk, end of the day safety is the #1 priority in anything and most certainly in this hobby. I know I'll always say the same things others have said here any time it comes up, partly for the people involved but also for the many, many lurkers who just read the forum but don't post (usually on most sites there are actually way more pure readers than posters). The hobby has a real 'churn' of new players and people leaving, so any time eye pro comes up I find that most people with an enthusiasm for airsoft will want to get involved with conversation even though it's been said a lot before, because it always needs bringing back up to the forefront to stay in people's view; as it were.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm new to airsoft etc. I'm an old sod in my early 60s, but feel like I'm 21. Got into airsoft etc around a 4 years ago when I got a spec-ops sniper air rifle and my collection is slowly growing. My latest addition is the vorsk vmp x1 that I have just purchased from the classifieds section on here. Mark
  12. Hi Baser, it's ok . I've actually hpa taped it so I can run the the MP5 on a tank in the colder months and like that it works well . It's fine filled with green gas too , but in honesty I prefer using the stick mags since i see limited shots and mag changes as part of the imersive GBB play style . That said if a game demands a spray and pray style then the drum is better .
  13. So much this. A lot of these pre-made ghillies, especially the cheaper ones, catch the light weirdly and stick out like a sore thumb to anyone who knows what to look for. One option I tend to use is a £5 OD scrim net, secured with elastic hair bands that I then also use to tuck natural foliage in. Doesn't need much natural foliage, but a little natural foliage works wonders for concealment. The other option I use is an SCG pre-made rifle wrap. If you really want something pre-made, then these are good, but double the price of what you were looking at: https://www.longbowbb.co.uk/product-page/scg-next-gen-halo-multi-season-rifle-wrap (summer / sites with evergreen foliage) https://www.longbowbb.co.uk/product-page/scg-autumn-halo-screen-rifle-wrap (winter)

  15. Do it! I've only used it once, but so far really enjoying it. Even with the suppressor it feels lighter and handier than my other AR15s (MK18, CQBR, 14" URGI), and the kick is impressive (and loud) on green gas. There are caveats however. Had to buy a tool to get the hand guard off because the retention spring is so tight. Had a nightmare getting the barrel nut off too, because VFC love using loads of locktite. Then finally had to replace the hop unit and inner barrel because they'd locktite'd the hop screws and I stripped the head off one of them, so it now has a unicorn inner barrel and 4uad hop and nub.

  18. Cheers guys, I'm not buying anything till I go the my local site/shop I want to try before I buy. If I'm spending that much money I want to see it fits nicely and is comfortable. This post headed in a direction I didn't expect. 😆 I only wanted to share something I'd seen in lidl.

  22. What is the armpit to armpit measurement please
  23. I know i said id try the mash up, but the reality for the short game format at Dragons Lair, its just not needed. So instead I took the grab bag - short sling so it sits chest/abdomen and boom, a load out.
  24. I've got a VFC gas shotgun with the 30rd shells - same system as Marui, Cyma et al. On 3rd spread, it's a decent distance - I've never measured it but it's not that much worse than a typical AEG. On 6rd it probably loses 5-10m of range but obviously a bigger spread. I've played outdoors with it a couple of times and not felt completely outgunned. I think it also depends a little on the site you're playing at. If it's got wide open spaces, hundreds of people and everyone has a hicap then it would probably be a bit pants. Most sites I play at these days are built up/dense woodland and the games are semi-only with most people running midcaps. In those, if you pick your shots it's no disadvantage at all and makes for a very rewarding game. You do have to be on it with gassing up the little tank though.
  25. Thank you both for your replies, the hop rubber is indeed rotten and not really rubber anymore, I have ordered a new hop unit, so hopefully this may solve the problem. the mag seems ok, wasn’t left with BBs and seems to push them out ok. Regards the gearbox timing, I’m fairly sure it can’t be wrong as is seems everything is controlled by the sector gear? The only thing is the crown wheel and what looks like a non reversing cam? I guess this just stops the spring reversing the motor? Thanks again for your input.
  26. I had a Cyma springer for a while, and it was fine enough for cheap, but also partially glued shut and built in the most insane way possible. After a year it started just falling apart.
