Enid_Puceflange Posted Monday at 11:58 Share Posted Monday at 11:58 How long is acceptable to wait for a payment from a buyer Im pretty quick replying to folk, and just got abuse from a buyer (on another forum) For agreeing a price and sending him my payment details -immediately , last week. I gave them 5 days to pay me (I’m not in the habit of pestering someone for a payment), then moved on to the next interested party Now they are in the huff with me 🤷🏻♂️ Tackle

Nah, there was none of that Just will you accept my offer, which I did then two days later asking how much we had agreed on 🤦🏻♂️ Went on for over a week Fortunately, the other party paid my asking price 😄 Rogerborg and Galvatron
Galvatron Posted Monday at 12:30 Share Posted Monday at 12:30 24 hours is the extreme end of reasonable. After 5 days, I would assume they're taking me for a ride. I'm surprised a "family emergency" wasn't thrown in as well for good measure.. Enid_Puceflange
Moderators Tackle Posted Monday at 12:41 Moderators Share Posted Monday at 12:41 Obviously a tyrekicker, probably didn't have the money to start with. I don't sell much, but unless we've agreed a timescale for payment, I'd be expecting it the same day. I've previously agreed a few times to "wait until payday" with buyers, but never again, unless their reliability is reflected in their feedback etc, as every one has then gone on to ghost me when the agreed date has arrived. #Feckintimewasters🤬 But what about when you're the wannabe buyer, seller talks to you, you respond by asking for their paypal details...... & then you wait....... & wait......... & wait......... & then you see it marked as sold ffs. As a seller, if the first guy you talk to agrees to buy & asks for your paypal, wtf would you then start discussing it with the next in line, surely basic manners & courtesy dictate this ? You wouldn't go in to the butchers & ask the guy serving you for the last xyz, only for him to wrap it & hand it past you to someone behind you without a good explanation. strykerles Posted Monday at 14:41 Share Posted Monday at 14:41 As said above, 24hrs unless other arrangements are made like waiting until payday or until they can collect in person and pay cash Tackle
ButcherBill Posted Monday at 17:17 Share Posted Monday at 17:17 Life sometimes gets in the way, I'm usually the buyer & 24hrs is prob the longest I've taken to pay. As a seller (my one & only offer to sell) I was ghosted, even a polite 'sorry I've changed my mind' is acceptable from a seller or a buyer IMO. FYI, if you accept someone's offer please reply by message, quite a few times my offer has been accepted & I only found out by checking my emails (just as well I'm a needy bugger & check them a few times a day). Cannonfodder Posted Monday at 19:06 Share Posted Monday at 19:06 Unless the buyer has asked if I mind waiting a few days then I would expect payment that day. Quite frankly waiting 5 days is taking the piss especially with zero comms. Tackle

Moderators Tackle Posted 6 hours ago Moderators Share Posted 6 hours ago Got a sort of similar situation going on here, messaged a member a question about a rif, he quickly responds with a promise of pictures later, true to his word he sends said pics. So then I sent him what I believe to be NOT an unreasonable offer, explaining I wouldn't need the extra mags & battery. That was more than 24hrs ago, he's read it, been on numerous times since, but not a dicky bird ??? I'm a big boy lol, I can take rejection💔, but the silent treatment, really ? Thing is, not sure if any of you are like me, if I get the taste for something new, whatever cash I've got aside for it will burn a hole in my pocket, so if a seller takes 3 days to make up his mind, there's every chance I've moved on & bought something else.
