Couple of questions if you dont mind, as it's my first GBBR...

  • How do you adjust the hop on this....I'm guessing clockwise (as you look down the barrel) increases?
  • Given a reasonably full gas bottle, how long does it take to charge the 30 round mags?
  • Do they do slightly higher capacity mags?  Say 150 bbs rather than 30.
  • How compatible are WE spares - I've read about the pot metal used in these things 🤪.
  • How strong is the folding stock?  Would I be nuts to use it for a sling?

As always,  tah in advance.

Congrats on your new gat, and welcome to the Gas Blow Back Flexors Club.  You'll find your smoking jacket and glass of fine brandy or champagne will be provided by Jeeves very shortly 🥂

Yup

15 seconds? if it's a silent fill valve, you wont lose much gas if you overgas it anyway.

Nope

Yes, practically the same rifle.

Eh, I never use that position on any G36 rifles.

Perfect,  cheers.

BTW, I'm taking my pews at the weekend, but my knee is still Donald Ducked from last gameday, getting a new brace today, so we'll see how things go for Monday. 👍

As far as I know, its a clone of the WE G36 so should be compatable with any WE spares. RA Tech do a load of parts for the G36 but I would just leave it stock until it breaks.

However, I have a few RA Tech parts in my WE G36. I don't know if the AA version has a plastic charging handle, if so, I would recommend getting a metal one as this will 100% break on you.

Yeah - the little handle bit on the end is plastic with a rather small looking pin holding it on.  So will look at getting a spare in...// [scroll forward20 minutes]...  you gotta love oriental websites and their horrible layouts 🤣

Found it on page 37....   http://en.ratech.com.tw/english/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=176:rag-we-094&catid=27&Itemid=119

And in the UK - https://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/gas-blowback-parts/we-rifle-parts/we-g36-(999)-parts/WE-G36-(999)-Cocking-Handle-Set.html  for my future reference as much as anything...  https://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/ra-tech-we-g36-g39-series-charging-handle.html

Gave the barrel a nice clean, so will have a play with some mags tomorrow and see what can be done with the hop.

What FPS are you getting from it? On a hot day my WE one can shoot well over 400fps and it needs a NPAS and weaker gas to get it close to be usuable.

I have had a bit of a roller coaster on that one.

A full mag will be well over 400 using ASG Ultra Air Gas.  After a few shots it bounces around between  250 and 340.  I shall load one up and post some chrono pics...  My butane bottle adapter isn't coming until next week.  I'm hoping the much bigger bottles will give a more consistent fill pressure.

Abbey 144a:

The F denotes the load that was refilled with gas.

There are some anomalies, which I am hoping was down to the fact there were a few pre-fired BBs in that bottle.

More worryingly, a metal pin has fallen out of my of the pews - it could be a Glock, the 1911, the Auto 9 or the new G36.

Sad times. 😪

Those are some whacky numbers there.

Sometimes, with Gbbr's it not about the consistancy, it's the experience.

Post a pic of the pin, some airsoft super tech might be able to ID it for you. Although you may find out when one of your pews falls to bits mid game :(

Well, it ended up being two parts lose....

Took the front grop off and this little plate came out too.

Can't see where either came from (limke I said, the pin could be from another pew).

Also found the castellated nut that holds the outer barrel in place was totally undone.

Can't beat airsoft QC 🤣

I have just stripped mine down and cant see anything that resembles the retangular peice you have found. And there is nothing in that diagramme that resembles that bit either

The only pin from under the hand guard I can see it the one that holds the mock gas block in place.

This website seems to stock every bit you need for you rifle.

That peice is from the mock gas cylinder that's at the front I do believe. Should feel a slight spring tension when you slide it in.

I've had mine 6 months now, on mine I've developed an issue with it shooting fully auto on semi but the plastic tip on the charging handle has stood up fine.

I couldn't see any missing pins, and closer inspection shows that this pin is probably older than this pew.  Time to take the pistols apart again methinks

Which bit dude?   I can feel the spring in the gas tube.

As above it looks like #52 in this diagram, I'll assume airsoft isn't your priority just now, quessing you're spending Hong Kong Dollars just now but here's the diagram...

Hi ho, you going quiet has coincided with me being on hiatus on medical advice... Which I've now decided to ignore.

So hopefully see you on the battlefield at Spec Ops soon 😎.   I might be going Sunday morning.   Depends on whether I'm still alive, my wife might notice a guitar getting delivered on Saturday, and then....
