Hi,
My account "colinjallen" has been hacked; the hacker is using it to try to scam people with this:

I have contacted Admin to get the account closed down.

That might be a good idea!  I have messaged and emailed proffrink.

probably unnecessary, but here's hoping you get it sorted soon.

Thanks; the more, the merrier!

I can only presume you've used the same password everywhere? If so, lesson learnt. Use random and unique passwords with a password manager.

Your password was probably obtained from a breach on another site, they then only have to search your username and find what other sites you use and try it there.

I have a variety of passwords; however, here and ZeroIn had the same ones.

check yourself at https://haveibeenpwned.com/ as obviously your password has been obtained somewhere, and make sure to change that password if you use it anywhere else

also worth checking your device :)

I have removed the advert, and restricted the account until @proffrink can deal with it.

Thanks for that:).  I doubt that ZeroIn will be as proactive.

Hmm, sorry that happened to you, and thanks for letting us know. It's pretty concerning that we're being targeted.  I hadn't considered that we'd be worthwhile, but scammers can net hundreds per victim on each bogus ad.  I admit to being a bit lax on this, but I've just changed my password to a rando one now.

It seems that someone else has been hacked on ZeroIn.  As you note, one decent scam can net reasonable amounts and these lowlifes are probably doing this over a wide range of selling sites across a variety of hobbies etc.

Not that I ever use it now, but I've changed my password there as well.  It seems that they're going after idle accounts where it's less likely to be noticed - they made a bit of a mistake with your active account here.

No luck on getting it back?
