GearTech
Anyone else enjoy playing around in photoshop? Been doing a lot of edits lately. Such a massive program, think I could mess on for years and still only scratch the surface. Purchasing a drawing tablet in April to see if I can reignite my love of drawing. Supporters Sitting Duck Posted March 24, 2020 Supporters Share Posted March 24, 2020 Any bit of software is like trying to master a new strange complex computer game Learning just the basics feels like that ultra hard level you have stuck on for days/weeks It is an amazing feeling when you finally manage to get to grips with it even better when you understand it slightly and start to slowly begin to incorporate your new found skill (even if only on a limited scale) From rendering, to figuring out DTP stuff to Oooohhhhh is that what macros n crap do in xcel etc.... Fucking easy peasy - when you know how of course, impossible when you don't Congratulations sir, don't understand any of it, still can't work the Virgin V+ box, leave it to the kids but well done, some very nice work indeed
heroshark
I used to enjoy fucking about with my friend/bosses desk top picture at work to see how long it took her to notice. Surprised I never got the sack for time wasting tbh.
Mostly Retired Moderators L3wisD Posted March 24, 2020 Mostly Retired Moderators Share Posted March 24, 2020 Been photoshopping for years now, just never in a professional capacity. Would love to though - just the odd beer-money gig here and there. Interested in how you did this effect - looks a lot more effective than the usual Poster Edges / Threshold / Oil Painting technique. That's the technique I used. Then refined each layer a little and added colours here and there

AK47frizzle
For drawing, I'd highly recommend clip studio paint instead. It's far superior and more intuitive to work with than photoshop.

I got it at a discount, otherwise it's $50 usd for the pro version and 220 for the ex version. Well worth it imo. An alternative is opencanvas on steam but that also costs money

I would for you to ignite this passion again cause I think you can have your own forum section were you photoshop people's photos just like the above. Really cool mate! Keep going! I would like to see more.
leadly
I used to mess about with Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro in my early teens. Me and a friend would make banners and signatures for people on the forums we frequented. It's something that I've now not used for years but won't ever uninstall from my PC just incase! Oh Infact I did use it recently to crop out my mates wife's face from his wedding photo and pop in a picture of a barmaid we saw him nattering to once! We all laughed atleast! Using my powers for the greater good!!
