Shootin Aces Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Hi all! Anyone got any ideas on how to repair this? Or how to clean it up a bit, I did think bronze paint but thought I would ask
SgtTalbert Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Paint would work, as its the side, rail cover even?
BigStew Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Two part body work putty, sand then paint. Will be purely cosmetic though

Tommikka Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 It’s a rail. Accept it has happened. The rail will still function as a rail, there are still threads in there. Mount something on it, touch up with some paint or if you don’t like it then replace the rail. Back in the day I filed back one of the rails on a gun body to precisely align a feed. The item manufacturer saw my mod and asked for more pictures and dimensions which they put into the redesign of their next iteration. I no longer use the item, so if I bring out that gun there’s a shiney gap on a black body. It has no effect on function
Supporters Samurai Posted February 21, 2020 Supporters Posted February 21, 2020 I'd clean it up with a drill press and a big drill bit so it looks a nice chamfer, then some paint.

Tec-Spek Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Dab of paint and accessory over it if needed. I'd say thats as good as it gets without going to overly extended efforts.
AlphaBear Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Get a dremmel with a sanding stone and finish it off. The some JB weld and paint it.. Best thing is to use some magpul xtm covers though if you can...
