Manufacturers and owners manuals

Why do so many of these companies fail to provide proper instructions for the use of their products?

My recently purchased LCT - no instructions or indication of which way to operate the hop up, no instructions about maintenance, no unjamming rod but a silly little useless plastic shield with LCT written on , a low or midcap mag with no indication of how many bbs it holds, etc. And yet they include a big glossy catalogue of their products with lovely photos in full colour?

Classic Army AK scope mount - no instructions of any kind, and these things are a bugger to put on if you haven't done it before.

Armorer Works - no instructions, nothing relating to the hop up and how to operate it. There is a little film online that shows you how to remove the slide and that is about it. Also shown is somebody slavering the slide rails and internals with silicone oil from a spray can. Stuff flying all over the place. And naturally, no unjamming rod.

I have finally found a place which in the UK which sells unjamming/cleaning rods, but it took me some time.

Sorry but I just felt like a rant.😀

I think Fire-Supports website has the owners manuals and documents available for download on it.

Any specific questions and I’m sure one of us can answer them. Quick note... don’t spray silicone into the slide. I don’t know why people are so intent on doing that, but silicone doesn’t lube metal on metal and if you get it into your hop it will ruin any hope of accuracy

Absolutely. I only put silicone on seals and plastic blowback units, never on metal to metal parts, hop ups or barrels.

I take your point about asking on here Wolf, but you'd think the makers would include some instructions.

For example, I have ordered two hicap metal magazines. I know they will come without instructions, and yet I have heard that AK mags have to wound clockwise and not anticlockwise like most other mags.

It's just something I have picked up on the web, but I would have liked to pick it up from the manufacturer.

I've just checked the LCT gun manuals Prisce, and there are a lot of them.

But people must be keen to get hold of them.

Because there are none in stock.😂

Frankly, bad as it is, that's the game and you're expected to know shit/teach yourself/find out somehow.  Not in all cases, I think every gun I've had has come with a manual that explains all the important basics that a new player would need to learn, but obviously there are exceptions and a lot of the basics are just assumed as known.

if you want a nice one just find your local gun shop and get a .22 cleaning rod with a rag holder attatchment. alternatively just ask around at your local site- someone's going to have a bunch they'd be happy to give one away

Both of my WE pistols have come with manuals that are on the face of it quite comprehensive, however the English translation is so bad that it's often difficult to work out what they are on about ! the exploded diagrams are useful though.

I suspect that most manuals would be as bad as I have yet to come across one for anything that's been translated from Chinese or whatever that is remotely coherent.

Well, at least they tried.

And they should be commended for that.

And for the quality of their pistols which has been steadily improving.

I'd buy a WE before a KWA.

As would I. Their first stuff was a bit hit and miss, but WE have come on leaps and bounds

Have to say I am very pleased with both mine, very sturdy and feel 'solid' . Not had any issues with them except a leaky valve in one mag which was a 10 minute fix. Running them on nuprol red which gives them a very nice snap. May reduce the life of some parts but don't see that as a problem since they don't get used every game. The new 1911 that I have just got is a lovely bit of kit.

Found this French video of the same gun I own; the LCT AK74un

It really p...ed me off because this blokes gun came with a proper owners manual. It would have helped me a lot as a newby to have a booklet like that. Looks like it explains all the basics and has useful diagrams.

I bought two LCTs and neither of them had an instruction booklet.

I think I'm going to ask the retailer why LCT has stopped supplying these with their guns.
