First off tried looking for the "Say Hi" discussion bit, but I failed to see it on here, so sorry in advance. I'm ex military and have been for almost 14 yrs now, and I'm looking for that buzz feeling! I've served all over the world from Bosnia to Afghanistan.... Does this class me as a noob when it comes to airsoft? This is my first visit to the world of airsoft and I'm looking for something different, and fancy taking the sport up I'm also Manchester based.

OUT!

Shakes head, moves topic to the aptly named New Players & Arrivals section.

Welcome :).  Have a read of the pinned (sticky) topics in each section, they contain lots of useful advice and knowledge to help new players.

Welcome! :)

As mentioned there's a bunch of transferable skills that you can apply to Airsoft. It'll certainly give you a buzz. Only bit of advise I can give would be to make sure to keep your ears open and ask any questions if you're unsure on something. There's a ton of useful info on this forum so have a search around if you need a quick answer.

The community on the whole is pretty laid back and are more than willing to help out a new player, regardless of their past experiences, provided they're polite and willing to listen!

Have a few rental games to make sure you'll enjoy it (although I imagine you will) before you bite the bullet and start buying your own kit. This hobby can get very expensive..

Welcome to the forum. We have an ex-military guy in our squad and he performs wonderfully.

There's an ex-military guy in the squad I tag along with at my site. (I've only been there 4 times now)

So far he has left his gun at home and had to race back home for it 3 times lol.

That’s why he’s Ex-military.;)

Edit: I hasten to add have played with and against military members, some are brilliant, and others, not so.

We had 1 guy who kept trying to play like it was real life, so wouldn’t risk running into the fight.

I assume he meant playing like a massive pussy. As if he would actually die. Not looking over cover, moving forward, nothing.

Only the crazy ones. *raises hand*

I play with a toy lobster, that floats, as a knife, what part of that sentence would make anyone think I was sane? :D

Try a .43 sniper to the back of the head at point blank... it was a complete accident and the numpty ran in front of the gun.

I didnt take the hit, I took the shot. Felt guilty for days, luckily he’s a mate and admitted it was his fault. Live and learn.
