Not being funny but if you spent say £150 if on a FA bare bones budget

or

If you went complete nutz on a 1,000 budget you still will be wondering....

To be absolutely honest get the hell out there and start skirmishing a few times

you could buy all this and with a few skirmishes think you may wanna sniper

you could even decide it ain't for you - either hate it, not like being hit, sprain

you ankle - loads of things but decide maybe it isn't what you thought it was

And human nature being what it is you will never be happy & content with what

you got - the grass is green or his gun looks better than yours.........................

The crap me and I'm sure many many many others went out with when we started

but that didn't mean we had a real brilliant time either......

Even me with B500A1 getting owned most of time but still stopped some other guy

gallop with his £350+ gun using a £50 one - how pi$$ed does he feel

(not much really coz $hit happens like this all the time)

get out there n get shooting - hire gun £150 gun £350 gun - whatever

yes if you are gonna buy something try n buy something decent etc.....

but maybe try not to run before you have learned to walk so to speak

You are facing the same dilemma that most do when starting out. Fact is that airsoft is an expensive hobby. You could save a chunk by getting a cheaper gun though.

The G&G plastics are really good. It doesn't have a plasticy cheap toy feel if that's what you're worried about.

I've put a better spring and motor in mine which cost like 40 quid altogether and now I get a consistent 345fps and a lot better rate of fire.

Standard raiders sit around 310 - 315 fps which is more than good enough.

i would get the combat machine but i want a gun that is full metal but seeing as its alot cheaper i will probably go with the combat machine if they are hardly different (so many decisions )

Don't get hung up on the "full metal" thing. The polymer bodied combat machines (not the plastic ones, the nylon reinforced polymer ones) are as strong as if not stronger than metal. Plus if cost is the issue bear in mind that the guts of the t4-18 is going to be basically the same as the combat machine. The cost difference between the guns is more than the cost of a tight bore barrel.

Don't try and scrimp on the protective gear though.

Also suggesting dialing back on the gun. Combat machines are very nice rifles. The Nylon bodies are very often stronger than the zinc and aluminum crap alloys used in guns. Guts are more or less identical,so performance will be close to the top techs.

Using the money saved on some good boots. They make a world of difference man. Ones that are often recommended are German Kampfstiefel 2000 boots, indestructible known to last a very long time. Offer great ankle support. The Mk7s can often be found in grade 1 condition around the 40 pound mark. British Pro boots are great too. They're goretex lined so won't soak. I've waded through marshes and played in bucketing rain and my feet have always been bone dry. Also offer excellent ankle support. Only thin I'd say is that the soles are not the strongest things ever. German Bergstiefel boots are a bit more expensive but Have very knobby soles which offer great grip. Then you also have your high end Haix,Lowa and Meindl boots.(These 3 also OEM Kampfstiefel and bergstiefel boots, their own name stuff is a bit more expensive) Pricey but the quality is fantastic.
