Glock 18c, Which Version/Manufacturer?

Going for a Glock 18c, but there are a fair few out there from various manufacturers and I wouldn't know which to go for.

What I'm looking for is something that is upgradeable, that can use a carbine conversion kit and has a lot of parts available for it.

The current Glock 18c's I'm aware of

WE Gen 4 Glock 18c

WE Gen 3 Glock 18c

TM Gas G18c

TM 18c aep

Cyma G18c aep

KWA G18c

Wouldn't mind some opinions from anyone owning any of these and some pro/cons too.

i have the cyma glock 18c aep, i have just ordered :-

300mah lipo 7.4v with adapter

eagle6 aep spring

i haven't skirmished it, but as standard they are 200 +/- fps, with those items i should see over 250fps with a better rof, not as much as a gbb pistol, but no gas costs :D and in winter they should still work

i believe the carbine kit fits them, but i am not 100%

edit :- i should also add the cyma is a clone of the TM G18c (the fixed slide one)

I have a WE Glock 17 Gen3, which is the same as the G18 aside from it being limited to single shot only, and it's easily the best pistol I've ever owned.

Incredibly gas efficient, gets 50+ shots on average per gas fill, mags are very reliable, not had any of them start leaking on me yet, accuracy and range are mental - fires flat and straight out to 45m and fps is generally around the 290fps mark - all the above is based on my experiences using .25g BBs.

Only issue I've had is that I had to replace the outer barrel with a steel one, because the stock, pot metal one exploded into two pieces after about 4000 shots.

I've also used the Gen4 which uses the same internal parts, but has a few different sized back straps for the grip.

I'd say the WE Gen4 would be a fairly solid choice. It's probably the one I'd go for.

Thanks, I was aware that the Cyma was a clone and not a bad one considering it's half the price of the TM version and takes its parts too.

I like the fact that the Cyma is more cost friendly and is not gas dependent.

Does your Cyma not come with a 500Mah battery?

yeah, and charger, though its not the best of charger's hence why i am moving to lipo's

almost forgot, mags are very very cheap :D i have ordered 3 cyma 99rd mags, i think it only came to £27 :D

edit - also there is a ris/silencer adapter which is less then £30 iirc

I had the KWA and I wasn't too much of a fan of it. It cooled down very quickly, I was lucky if I got the slide to lock back after a single mag! That said, I only owned it during last winter, so it was sort of to be expected...

It was okay, but if I were you I'd go for the WE.

i use the kwa/ksc 18c got 2 of them and a 26c. and tons of spares

always fun to use, yes it can cooldown a lot if ya on auto and if you spam semmi to much. the extended mags yeh sometimes you can get all 49 out but you might as well just put 40 in there as it will shoot them no problem. found the short mags work even better (probably due to less bbs)

now comes the fun part.... maintenance.

fun to tinker with as its very simple once you figure out how. problem is many parts are fragile and weak and the tiddy springs like to vanish at any chance they get. the fire selector is the biggest weakness to a new owner. if you don't loctite the grub screw then the pin will fall out and then the selector (inc. spring and bb) will launch out and be lost forever. stock slide and barrel have sloppy tolerances so rattle (but this is due to the auto function) the trigger bar is prone to bending from heavy trigger pulling and thus will cause it to shoot auto all the time. the "impact hammer/valve knocker" can break and many other parts will wear down easily. G26c metal slide or recoil rods do not exist anymore, unless they come with them.

good news time there are a few upgrade parts easily available still (recoil rods, MAG spring sets, slides barrels, tightbores, maple leaf rhop thing, and a few others) and real weapon parts fit also sights and holsters and some other bits. most of the time when people break /loose bits on theres they sell them on real cheap. i can link you to places in HK with short and long mags for £12 each. and you can always get a carbine kit and have even more fun ^^

if ya need help fixing them let me know and i'll send you the photo repair guide

Ended up going for the WE Glock 18C.

Fubbing brilliant piece of kit, especially on full auto, but I guess that's one of the reasons for it's popularity.

I'm positive that my next pistol will be a Glock :P

Has anyone tried or seen a VFC/ Stark Arms GLOCK 18C? How does it compare in terms of weight, authenticity, markings to the real steel etc?

I hate glocks, but to be honest, they are good pistols. So I might have to look at getting one my self.

debating on a WE G17 or a KJW G32, Inputs?

CO2 option for the WE Glocks?

Sounds like a good idea and I hope they go though with it as I would like to try a green gas pistol on CO2.

And to the guy asking about VFC/Stark arms. Can't say I've heard of either of those brands, nor have come across them on any sites/forums.

If your looking for a Glock the following manufacturers make (or copy) them.

WE

Tokyo Marui

Cyma

KWA/KSC

KJ Works

Couldn't give you much detail about all of those brands, but I'm sure a few people on here might be able to.

The Stark Arms/ VFC glocks are quite special and seems pretty well know but not as well know as the ones you have listed Jack (WE, TM etc..). The Stark Arms Glocks are the most realistic Glock on the Market today. Their simply stunning! I have done days of research on them and I may have some for sale very soon if anyone is interested.

Does anyone have this compensator for their Glock?

FHD00105.jpg

And if so, does it need an inner barrel to be attached, or would it be able to make use of one?

What's your experience been like with it too?

You've never heard of VFC? you need to get out more

Not really. :/

Did you not hear about all the massive hype with the H&K 417 that was released last year?

Guess who made that?

I've never heard of Stark Arms though. Apart from in Iron Man movies.

Vfc are a high end manufacturer, they make the cool stuff that everyone wants.

They set up stark arms for trademark protection for theain company I believe and have released a few pistols, a few glocks and an m&p compact. Not heard much bad about them not sure where you would find spares though, maybe wgc?
