  1. Do not try to run around a woodland site in trainers mate, you will damage yourself! One of the most singularly important pieces of kit you should buy over anything else is a good pair of boots, even lightweight hiking style boots are a better bet than trainers, a lot of sites actually state 'suitable footwear/boots must be worn'
  2. Weapons: Okay the gun you've linked is fine as a starter, so don't worry about that till you have a feel for the hobby and know what to look for in weapons. Transparent AKs are practically non existent - i.e. If you look long and thoroughly enough you may find one, but I've never seen or heard of one. Best colour for AK two tones (in my opinion) is the bright orange since if you squint at it then it almost looks realistic haha. Cymas are brilliant but you will need a spring downgrade as they clear 370fps out of the box. Chest rig/Loadout: Best thing to do is to decide what you need the rig for then choose accordingly; chest rig/vest for CQB games or plate carriers if you decide to milsim/use low cap magazines. It's all dependent on your ideal budget as well since most decent chest rigs/plate carriers cost in the region of £40+ before you add on pouches. If you're on a budget then a prebuilt tactical vest may be a better choice as you can get a decent one for around £30. As a new starter it's unlikely you'll be running more than a couple of high caps so just having camo trousers on is enough as most pockets on these are big enough to hold magazines. This brings me on to the chinos. Don't bother with them and buy a pair of surplus camo trousers to wear instead (can get them for less than £10). Face mask: Depends on personal preference and your sites restrictions. Most ask for under 16s having a full one piece mask, 16-18s can have a lower mesh mask/goggle combo and 18+ can just use goggles. Personally speaking the goggle/mesh mask combo is my favourite combined with suitable head wear. I use these two products as my face protection: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/smith-optics-elite-boogie-regulator-goggle-10085-p.asp http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/370897157295 Boots: Anything sturdy with good grip is your best bet. Hiking boots are cheap and rugged but again it's down to what your comfortable in. Most commercial trainers won't take the abuse of regular skirmishing whereas a good pair of boots are usually cheaper and last a lot longer.
  3. Try etsy.com for small sizes of Russian gear. If there's anything in particular you're looking for, tell me your measurements and i'll keep an eye open.
  4. Think 3s are bad, try finding 1s in anything other than KZS

Technically you can do anything and not get prosecuted. Its a defence that will stand up in court, saying i played one game or are planning on playing a game would not If it was like you say the UKARA or site memberships wouldn't be required to buy form stores
  6. Probably asking the impossible, especially for a springer. TM Gspec is good out of the box but only in a country with the 1J limit- Upgrades are needed to bring it up to snuff for use in the UK,for example the hop up does not really like anything heavier than .28s without mods. And the FPS is very low,280 on .20s stock but it's pretty consistant. The low FPS really 'kicks in' when you use .30s or up,it's noticeably worse than with .28s and added to that the stock hop does not lift .30s well past 30m. Another thing,on ALL VSRs and clones is that the stock sear set and piston WILL grenade themselves. It's only a matter of time when. You need to get a new steel sear set and piston with a steel catch for reliable use up to a 120 spring. With a 130 and up bolt pull & return will feel bad with the stock sears and reliability is out the window so you need to cough up for a 90 degree mech and piston. Another thins is that as per usual for TM,prices are inflated outside of Japan, but the VSR 10 pro is often reasonably priced (ProAirsoftSupplies have them for 170 quid which is okay, only 70 quid more than the price w/ out shipping from Echigoya) Chinese clones like the JG BAR 10 which is quite good are hard to come by in the UK and in other shops sell like hotcakes so they are wee bit iffy to get (used market has plenty) If you want a good 'OOTB' springer try find a good pre upgraded one for sale, stock guns always need some work to be usable. If you want a good OOTB usable sniper weapon than the RealSword SVD is your best bet. it could also be better but it's one of if not the best out of the box AEG DMRs,in that it actually performs to meet the standards of a DMR. But,it's VERY expensive because it's full steel and most of it's CNC to boot.
  7. nah, you'll hurt someone, you can use a rubber ducky to troll someone or better yet: If you can use anything as a melee weapon, use a dildo.
  8. Normal site rules usually state that any melee weapon should be able to bend 30º or close to minimise any danger. As the description of that Bokken states it 'closely duplicates a real Katana's length, size, weight and feel', I guess sites wouldn't be too impressed with something that big with such little movement. Personally I've used a lightsaber and even an extra long suppressor to get melee kills in the past- anything can be a melee weapon if you're brave enough
  9. Unless you're getting something magnified theres not much point in anything other than irons For CQB a dot can be useful but the distances are so close its not going to make a big difference Also remember a sight it only ever good if its zero'd
  10. Con, I'm not entirely sure why you are a 'rep' for the BAC as you are so out of tune with what they have actually done and are currently doing. I highly doubt they are putting money in your pocket but they are 100% feeding you (and perhaps even themselves) absolute bullshit and you're lapping it up. Quite frankly mate, this is going to rub off on you – in fact it already has. The BAC is the brainchild of two desperate people that have zero prior experience in anything related, They've been winging it from day dot and have been lucky up until now. Save yourself looking like a complete moron. Quit.
  11. However most AEGs won't have the range and accuracy to take full advantage of a magnified sight, so most of the time they're useless for anything but recon on the other team- and even then you can do the job better with a monocular or small pair of binos which would cost less and likely be more effective.
  12. I get not everyone is a milsimmer, myself included. But, what is this obsession with rps? You are shooting RIFs, the real steel fires at roughly 1.5 rps (unless Google lies), so unless you are an absolute shit shot, why does anyone want a 40rps bullshit set up? Learn to shoot and learn to shoot single shot, your life will be made instantaneously better by not being a hi-cap wanker and you will have far more accuracy and range as your gun will perform a full-stroke for every shot. 40rps is bollox, if you need that you need some fucking training! Get your guns shooting straight, get some range, get some skills..... using anything over 1 hicap a game shows you are a hit and hope. (I am not against hicap mags as they save weight etc, but ffs learn some trigger discipline!)
  13. Red lasers wont be a beam, just a dot. Unless you are in smoke, fog etc. Green lasers are usually produce a visible beam however are usually more than 5mW. UK legal ones are maximum at 5mW. You technically can import more powerful ones legally, however most reputable sites will not allow anything more powerful than 5mW. Go for a 5mW, they're not really that powerful but you can use them at most sites. Range wise you will get about 30m before the dot becomes quite faint during the daytime outside. Indoors you generally dont need to worry.

I've watched quite a few vids so far and i've heard that you can use the sun's rays to distract enemies. Then a lot of it was the usual; use cover tactically, never chase enemies. All of which I know very well and do but since I didn't know that maps, I was left wondering where to go and when i do find cover, it's usually where an enemy spawns... so i gotta learn the spawn mechanics... but I do like Caspian Border for now. But it's funny how there are so many mindless noobs running about doing nothing and it's annoying when there is a high levelled person on the other team in a jet or heli; they are almost impossible to take down when my team cannot do anything about it. It seems like i'm the only sane one on my team because it's usually only me who is firing a smaw or rpg at them. But when there are some mid levelled players in the game, sh*t actually gets done because they actually ptfo. I think i'll practise a bit more on campaign mode with the gun's recoil mechanics and reading symthics stats, but so far, I really love the AS VAL from playing that mission as Dima. Anyway... how long did it take you Ed, to get decent at the game?
  15. No need for that stuff before getting mags and boots! Plus they're generally known as modifications, you won't really be upgrading anything except maybe your stock's quality
  16. OP Archangel 24 hr E&E With a twist. Sept 13th-14th 24HR event Site1 Ceri forest. Should you decide to sign up to this event as Russian forces then please pm me and we'll add you under a different name. Spetsnaz Special Forces from alpha group GRU have supplied a lead element of 6 scout sniper teams who have been deployed from their base in the southern district of Russia. The main tasking is to take out 2 key figures of the Ukrainian militia. However during the infil both key targets gave the command to deploy SAM rockets and shot down 2 Russian Mi-26 helicopter troop carrier helicopters in separate areas of a large forested area on the outskirts of the Crimea region in the Ukraine. During the attack both sets of pilots gave the order to ditch all kit in an attempt to lighten the load prior to impact. FSB have intercepted icom chatter giving a rough outline on their position and that they are currently patrolling the forest for any survivors and intel they may have with regards to the ongoing situation in the Crimea region. The four pilots of the downed gunships survived the attack as well as the sniper teams and require an immediate extract, unfortunately for them the kremlin have advised they will firstly have to locate any possible intel around the crash site area and if their equipment is serviceable then they are to carry on with the mission and make it to extract at 12.00hrs the following day. Locate and kill the high value targets. Link up with the downed pilots prior to extract. If the sniper teams or pilots are captured they will have a 2hr interrogation time frame. After the 2hrs is up you will then merge into the the militia team and assist as new team members.
  17. Hi guys just been to my second skirmish (1 more then im getting my UKARA still unsure as to what gun - i want so many!!) im after some advice. i purchased a pair of ESS Profile NVG goggles from ebay for about £25. went to my first skirmish, and they started flaking on the inside - i read somewhere that this was most likely the antifog coating flaking off. i emailed the seller who said they hadnt had any problems previously, and they sent me another pair. i used this second pair today, and the same thing happened. i figure there is either one of 2 things: a) the goggles are fakes, and therefore the lenses are not proper or, i sweat so much that it is too much for the lenses. im would like to know whether anyone else has had similar issues - im happy to buy a proper lense if you think that could be my problem. or i need to start looking for something else. im a little reluctant to purchase mesh goggles due to the potential risk - had some shards go through one of the guys airsofting today with his mesh goggles. Should i go for some smaller goggles that cover each eye individually - if so what recommendations? or should i look at going for a BBA rampage mask (or similar) and have some ballistic glasses underneath (to provide the protection)? or have i overlooked anything else? thanks in advance Chris
  18. Its June and we haven't heard anything. Any update on when/if you are intending to open?
  19. Fair enough... I've got the barrel and as far as I know... Installed the rhop correctly. I've gone for a m nub in a lonex hop... As soon as I can get out to some range... I'll see if I can get it working. I can't say as I can do anything conclusive... I just haven't got the time. But I can certainly give the differences in std vfc vs upgrades.
  20. None of the reviews I have seen of R hop have really shown the difference of just the R hop or different barrels they are used on and certainly not at the sort of FPS we typically use in the UK. The few reviews I have seen often show a default 6.08 barrel and basic bucking+nub compared to a tightbore with R hop, ie none isolated testing. When someone says an R hop is more consistent what I expected to hear was something like - "on 100 0.4g BB shots the 99% grouping was 12 inches at 200feet, but with the R hop that grouping was reduced to 7 inches". Good isolated testing of the high end options and how they are combined just doesn't exist as far as I know. Even in a lot of the tests where we see them comparing groupings there isn't a lot in it, the pattern is pretty wide and the variance is very high that its hard with the number of shots they took to draw any useful conclusions from the performance difference they are claiming. There is this guy in New York who did such a video with R hop and a tightbore at 60 yards and looking at the two sets of groupings there really isn't much in it. He would need hundreds of shots to determine if there was a difference, and due to the variable wind on the day and his own inaccuracy it was very hard to tell if there was an actual measurable difference. There is one guy on youtube who did good comparisons of guns. He did them inside with the gun clamped. But he never tested upgrades, only the guns stock. I haven't seen anything from him in a year after he changed jobs so I think he has completely stopped now (despite updates on facebook saying he was going to continue). Ideally I want to see him with his highly isolated and scientific approach compare the upgrade options to determine the exact impact of these things individually and together. But right now I don't think there is a good test that I can refer you to that would show you the genuine isolated impact of the R hop or twisted barrel and certainly not one with them combined.
  21. Personally I would say there are better sites to buy from in terms of customer service / quality but selection of cheaper guns isn't great on proper airsoft sites. Admittedly though, BB gun sites are good if you just want something from target practice. I just wouldn't buy anything £50+ because they overcharge for a lot of their stuff like their RIFs which you can buy cheaper elsewhere. There is just a lot of us here on the forums who don't like the 'BB gun' sites because they tend to make up things about their guns, delete any bad things you say about them and so on. Not to mention their bad service. That said I've honestly never had a problem with them in that respect (although I don't buy from them anymore for the above reasons) Most people would recommend you save up and buy a good starter rifle or pistol. I know you only want a cheap gun but a WE or KJW pistol / G&G Combat Machine would last longer / be more fun to shoot and be good at a skirmish if you wanted to do that.
  22. @snuff - nope not done anything to the lenses except give them a quick once over with the ESS antifog cloth @Adam - thanks for the recommendation - would these work even sweating more than an incredibly sweaty thing (i was going for another saying but thought better of it in case of minors )
  23. you cant buy the gun from him at all with money or gifts or anything that is illegal, as said above If he gives you the gun out of the goodness of his heart as a gift and thats it and just he is giving it away then thats legal. Using the gun is fine at a site or not, owning one isnt the problem either its the buying of it, so if he gives you the gun as a gift there is no reason why you cant keep it and use it!
  24. Russe that sounds awesome that would be really cool. I would actually really like to play a a Horde survival kind of game, with say a group of survivors in a simple concrete building on a small hill. The building would be 3 storeys: ground floor would be 10 riflemen, max ROF 20RPS,max ammo capacity 10000 rounds each ,second floor 4 support gunners, ammo unlimited,ROF unrestricted, third floor 6 snipers/DMs, 3000 rounds each. Against them run 100,who are allowed only single-action weapons (non sniper) without sights of any kind, with unlimited ammo and respawn. Every 5 minutes the attackers receive 5 points, these are used to buy special players.A horde Overlord makes the decisions Abilities can be combined, and vanish after death. Costs for classes would be: Semi:a single player can use their semi-automatic weapon for a single life (cost 1) Full: a player can use their fully-automatic weapon for a single life (cost 3) Heavyweight:a player can sustain three hits before dying (cost 3) Precision artist:a player can take a single shot with a sniper rifle (cost 5) Smoker:buys a smoke flare (cost 10) Praetorian: Allows use of a riot shield for a single life (cost 10) Grenadier:buys a grenade,if player dies in possession, he must not use it. The grenade would be a bb shower grenade, a bb must hit the defender to kill (cost 30) Tank:can withstand 5 seconds of solid hits/ref's discretion (cost 45) The list could go on. It could be played as survival for a set period,or as a challenge to beat a site record. Slightly unrealistic but I'd give anything to play that.
  25. Buy/trade a gun from a friend - yes illegal Be given a gun by a friend and not give anything back - nope not illegal Use at a site - no not illegal
