  1. Got the Howard Leights, they are decent enough but get your head hot and are annoying with a cap. Got the surefire, decent enough but found a bit of a fiddle and ache after half a day. Got the Howard Leight Laser Lite squishys (they fit nice). I've played CQB for years and never had anything loud enough to really need them. Before splashing loads of cash I'd check what sites you plan to play at allow, most ban the TAG stuff which can get crazy. BFGs (quake8, oshi, etc) I've never worried about (most places ban the 12 gauge blanks, which are loud). Strikeforce in Gloucester use some really loud disposable pyro, had one go off between my feet and it was an 'interesting' experience but even then didn't cause any issues without earpro. If you're going somewhere new i'd suggest stick a couple packs of squishys in your bag just in case.
  2. Natural fibre is an absolute dick to work with preparing etc, so that is why it costs so much. A 200m spool of properly produced Jute at 4/5mm diameter can be upwards of £400 on its own, before anything has been done with it. Basically, its monstrously overkill for airsoft, but then some donkeys run around with real plates in so..
  3. Ahoy, welcome, and yup, /thread, basically. It's best not to change too many things at once, as then you'll never be sure what's helped, done nothing, or made it worse. Maple Leaf Macaron 60 plus an "omega" style nub is my go-to. I've messed around with flat hops, R-hops and S-hops but why bother when the Maple Leafs do such a good job? This combination, although ak2m4 is off this week and not taking orders: https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-buckings-nubs/maple-leaf-macaron-60-nub Opinions will vary and you'll see 50 suggested (especially in colder weather when the rubber will be harder) or 70 (from Johnny Abroadlander where it's scorchio). I've tried both without noticing much of a difference at UK power levels, so now just stick to 60. While you've got the barrel out, give it a through clean through using a rod, cleaning patch and isopropanol or your solvent of choice. You'd be amazed how much oil and grease some barrels ship with, and they can spunk more badness down there over time from whatever's coming out of the cylinder or magazine. That'll help accuracy / consistency. Ultimate range is determined by the muzzle energy, which is a different subject. But if you're getting anything between 1J - 1.13J using 0.28g BBs (or as heavy as your hop can lift and your wallet stand) then you'll be competitive with anyone else. It's rare that those last 2 or 3 metres of range really matter, compared to having correct and consistent hop applied.
  4. Not really listening to music as such, but as I'm trying to learn how to play my guitars (all 4 of 'em) I have a long list of Top Choons that I try to play along to. Everything and anything, quite lidddderally from ABBA to ZZ Top as long as I can use Chordu to get the simple chords so I can try to wrangle some rhythm guitarishness out of 'em. God bless him and his Canadian cotton socks, but Mr Bryan Adams has written some hits aren't really 'my taste' but that are damned fun to play along to, and not too tricky. Same for a bunch of other popsters. I'll give anything a go. Luckily though, I'm finally getting to the point where I can hit on the beloved Cardiacs, for some of the simpler (slower, less stoppy-starty) numbers... and this epic is the current fave for strumming along to https://chordu.com/chords-tabs-cardiacs-dirty-boy-id_d-dd4fMUhAY

    Monolith Loadout

And I need to say this too, if anyone on here has a monolith loadout or anything stalker related (the games, not court orders lol), feel free to post here, I'd love to see everyone's interpretations of different factions!
  6. So, just went looking for an exploded diagram for the Raptor SV98 and went to Raptor's web site (twraptor.com) and it's now got a holding page. I noticed they've not said anything on FB since Aug either. Anyone got any ideas?
  7. It took a while to get me back to the bunker. It was a collection of little things that put me off, lots of shouting, pushing the game too hard, marshals stripping people of any kind of stealth tactics by walking up behind them and shouting "move, move, come on lets push forward", which is all well and good until you're wielding a single pistol and there are 8 opposition players around the corner with rifles and lovely little camping areas, waiting to pepper the life out of you. It started to seem as though there was an element of clique-ness and there were becoming rumours that certain people were managing to skip chrono, resulting in hot RIFs on the field, which isn't particularly fun in such a close quarters environment. I might add that I'd never experienced a hit from anything that felt like a hot gun, and the chrono issue may have been only rumours, but with everything building a gloomy picture of the place I decided to take time away from it. I had an experience where I had a few duff flash-bangs from their onsite shop, not a big issue. I had a quick chat with one of the staff, to let them know more than anything, he decided it was much more appropriate to call me out in front of everyone, telling me I had no idea how to strike a fuse and that there was nothing wrong with them, despite the fact that they were all damp from storage. It irritated me, because I'd always recommended them as a site to visit, we'd played regularly on an almost weekly basis at one point. The flash-bang incident was the icing on the cake. Going in last night the atmosphere was much different, it was calm, the marshals were respectable, visible and in the right places at the right time, the briefing was prompt and to-the-point and the game play was well managed. I felt like the night was for the players, like it once used to be, really enjoyed myself. Even if you only go once, it's worth a game for sure. As for Valiant, that one is on my list of "places to visit". I did the Vendetta site in Gloucester and absolutely loved it, a number of our team have done Valiant already and they loved that too!
  8. Is there anything you don't like about the viper vx gear? If not then why not get a new set? My recommendation for chest rigs is always the SADF M83 chest rig. I'm no way a big guy and mine fits my skinny body with more room for adjustment. Lastly and mostly only because nobody else has posted it, there's always this😁 https://www.evike.com/products/31263/
  9. I'll be honest this is looking very much like the airsoft equivalent of Fyre festival . Just from a numbers point of view . You need 1000 paying players just to get the primary prize money from admissions and that's without taking into account the rest of the event costs which for something of this size would be substantial. The website gives no real detail but just one line bullet points of the week. The website also shows a fire service presence on site for the week which i am highly dubious of having worked with blue light services for various events and organisations. No information on the people running the event or even their identity , no limited company registered that i can find , no indication that the amount of interest is actaully there to make the event viable at this stage. I do not envy the organisers trying to get this started and appreciate the effort it takes to get this kind of event set up . However without anything more solid I just don't see it as viable. I am surprised at some of the "sponsors" of this event as if it does turn out to be a fyre festival type affair there are some big, well trusted names that would need to ask themselves some very serious questions down the line

Looking for a couple of recoil midcaps for TM mp5 message me if your selling anything used

  11. I've no experience with them, but you've done the right thing by not opening it up, I'd recommend you email patrol base & then follow it up with a phone call, if they recommend anything other than returning it, ask them to confirm their advice via return email, & should it still have an issue, insist on a full return for refund or exchange, depending on what YOU want. Unfortunately vorsk aren't known for qc, so it could be a one off lemon, or a generic issue with them ?
  12. I’ve recently got the “Hitman” Vorsk vx9 1911 with the extended barrel silencer brand new from Patrol base. Tried shooting around 20 shots through it but it’s shooting quite heavily to the left with and without the silencer attached. Has anyone experienced anything like this and is there a simple solution I’ve missed? I.e more hop, more rounds through? I’ve been reluctant to do too much so far in case it needs returning.
  13. I've got TM red, white & green shells and as far as I'm aware the differences are cosmetic only - which is why I got them in the first place - they're gasless mags so no reason why they'd influence anything other than feeding. Got mine from Fire Support. Sometimes it's better the devil you know.
  14. Thank you all for the above. I have tried the hot water over the outer barrel, and still having issues. I cannot seem to break that initial seal on the thread. I’ve removed the outer barrel but it’s only 10-12 cm long and cannot be gripped with anything to give me some extra force 🥲
  15. If you're near Reading - Look at Z-Mart CQB in Newbury, its in a sectioned off area of a Shopping centre, ran be the guys who used to run the old abandoned mall Site in reading iirc (Might be wrong). Not heard anything bad about the site.
  16. Even as stripped to components Germany is bloody awful and requires loads of paperwork. I wouldn't fuck about with Turkish plod. If anything goes wrong... Post to Russia via Royal Mail is still fine. Take the things apart and declare as parts, but you've no insurance if it all goes wrong. Russia Start date: 28 February 2022 Latest Update: 26 June 2023 End date: Ongoing Incident: Service availability Latest Update We are still despatching postal items to Russia. We are continually monitoring the situation and will provide an update if there are any changes to our service moving forward.
  17. Cyma are a solid choice for anything these days. Krytac and G&G are both worth a look too, though they're a bit pricey for what they offer.
  18. Going through Istanbul, anything other than shipping it internationally, probably not a chance in hell - its nigh on impossible to properly document them to meet the Turkish requirements for importing firearm replicas, even those in transit to elsewhere.

  20. Also to note you may not need anything expensive to fix the mags. Depending where the leak is and what's wrong. Just a clean up and relube, possibly a little bit of PTFE tape 😁.
  21. I'd say yes and no. There have been quite a few changes where newer tech is slowly adopted, such as lipos and mosfets, but they're nowhere near essential and nothing touted as a game changer has remotely been anything like one
  22. Anyone used short mags? Particular the 240ish round double mags. Anything to note, other than lower capacity?

    Kwa qrf mod 1 shell

Kwa qrf mod 1 shell only this gun had a polarstar kythera, I only bought this for the engine, so what you see is what you get this would be a good build for a hpa system ie: wolverine inferno, polarstar jack etc, so anything with an fcu and trigger board, it's got the kwa gearbox that's been modified to take a hpa engine and the lower has been modified to take a cnc hop unit, if you're going to use a different hop unit other than the standard kwa you will have to take 2mm of the feed tube, so that the mag cach works or just order a kwa qrf mod1 original hop unit, i will include an ak wolverine inferno nozzle for wolverine hpa build and yes the mags are include 4x 80 rnd £100 that includes PayPal and post

    £100

  24. Yes, it's changed and not all for the worse. Speedsoft and the gear for speedsoft (HPA, masks etc) have become much more popular. Rifs have evolved with some tech and the brands generally seem better. The snobbish elitism of milsim seems to have reduced, (a lot of "milsim" people now seem to like structured skirmishes) as has the reverse snobbism. The people playing are people who haven't been watching the gwot/Afghanistan/iraq on the news or war movies, they have more experience with cod and Fortnite so the guns, gear etc are more that way inclined. The whole impression scene seems to have gone (with the odd exception) but it's been replaced with speedsofters and people who just want stuff that works and that seems to be very disperate. At my last skirmish I regularly came up against the same player, he was using speedsofter type stuff and he was very good, getting the better of me several times. Made the day a bit more challenging etc but he could have worn anything and he'd have been good. I'd like to see more specialist events (ruleset wise) Defiant Airsoft seem to be doing that, gunman are to a degree.
  25. Hello all. I've been away from airsoft for a few years now but making a comeback! After going through all my gear, checking and cleaning up my guns (TM 416 Devgru AEG and TM PX4 blowback pistol), I realised my PX mags are toast. They are leaking through both valves and O-rings need replacing. After having a looksy online for O-rings and/or valve replacements, I came across TM valve taps for running an HPA system into the TM magazines. Started researching into this and from what I saw/read, it seems fairly straight forward. I've never run HPA before so I do have a few questions though... Is running HPA through TM pistol mags as straight forward as it seems? Fail safes: if my regulator fails and decides to dump all the air into the line, is there anything I can install to prevent my pistol exploding in my hand/holster? How many shots can I roughly get out of a 13ci tank, at site allowed pistol FPS rates? Is there anything I need to do to my TM pistol to prevent damage from running an HPA system? Do I literally only need a tank, a regulator and a hose for a full pistol system? What are the better brands and retailers to get HPA systems and parts from? Many thanks for any help offered!
