Welcome to the forums. You don't state where you are based - so I'll assume UK. My notes: - Don't replace the barrel yet (I don't think the AEP barrel will work anyway). The TopTech stock barrel is decent enough - just give it a good clean for now. - Start with replacing the hop rubber and nub and see how it performs: https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-buckings-nubs/maple-leaf-macaron-60-nub - This gun uses the older-style G&G hop unit, which isn't bad, just a bit outdated - maybe later replace it later with a ZCI Plastic rotary unit (when back in stock): https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-chambers/zci-rotary-hopup-chamber-plastic-m4 - Chrongraph your gun before and after any upgrades. There's a good chance that as-is, your gun will struggle to hit 300fps (TopTechs of this era were 1j/328fps from the factory to UK shores but often were below that). - Consider a longer inner barrel/mock suppressor if you need to get the FPS up - the very short barrel means that the gun is over-volumised (hence the noise) which means a good deal of air is wasted in the firing cycle. A longer barrel will make use of that extra air and provide additional FPS as a result. None of the above involves opening the gearbox. If the gun shoots well enough after the above, then happy days. Given that the gun hasn't been used in some time, here are some other things to consider next if you are having any performance problems: - If you are confident on opening the gearbox - clean and relube, particularly the compression parts (Piston, Piston Head, Cylinder and Cylinder head etc.) - Replace the piston and cylinder head O-rings - Important Inspect the gearbox casing for any cracks around the front/Blowback port - Toptechs are notorious for this (example below). You can do this to some extent without taking the gearbox out of the lower receiver: - Inspect the gears for any wear/damage - Inspect the piston rack for any damage to the teeth (G&G Pistons aren't great) I'm sure others will chime in shortly, but my advice is to keep it simple (and cheap) to start with.

Yeh - but the Specna Flex does not have the requisite trigger unit or wiring to plug in a Perun ETU++. G&G ETU Trigger unit: Specna Flex Trigger Switch: So if you want the function of the ETU++, you will need to open the gearbox and replace the traditional trigger shuttle assembly - and if you are doing that you may as well skip straight to the Perun Hybrid as is a fully optical/magnet based system that doesn't wear out like the switches on the G&G trigger units can. If you are only interested in semi-locking the gun, you can do that mechanically via modification to the selector plate, or adding a set screw to the side of the reciever to prevent the selector switch rotation to the full-auto position. But if the gun locks up for any reason - it's unlikely to be unlocked in-game without being able to select full-auto.

Questionable politics and airsofters

So - I occasionaly wear one of these olive Webtex shemaghs around my neck (some events even mandate them for opfor kit). For my own edification - are we saying that some people find it offensive to wear something like this? -
Thanks. I'm not planning anything like RIFs etc - just some RS bolt-on accessories that are trickier to source in the UK. And the 5.11 HQ & clearance outlet is also within reasonable travel distance, but I can wear a new set of Taclite pants on the plane home...🙂

I have 4 days to kill in San Francisco in September. Not a holiday, but I have to go for...reasons. Was planning to visit some stores in the wider bay area (SF has nothing itself) with the hope of picking up some RS plastic bits (i.e. Magpul or similar Stock(s) and AR pistol/vertical grips) and maybe some playing gear. Anybody bought anything like that back in the hold luggage? Any problems with airpost security/customs? Ta

Don't forget Ambush at Botley - not a bad site - they just need to work on the fields a little as it was primarily a Paintball site - but they've knocked that on the head in favour of Airsoft. -
Perun Hybrid. If you want cheaper - you will probably be looking at a T238 off AliExpress - but reliability is somewhat questionable on those (depending on the model version). Gate Aster is a similar-priced option to the Perun, but IIRC needs an additional sticker in the gearbox shell for the trigger to work.

I think @Stevobeavo covered it in this thread: Basically, ZCI Plastic Hop Unit, ZCI Barrel, Maple Leaf Macaron and Omega style hub.

@ak2m4 It's a compatibility thing unfortunately. The PX02 is the closest metal-racked piston to the stock KWA in terms of dimensions (the GB is fractionally oversized to standard V2). It was a heartbreaking purchase - £30 for a piston delivered...😩 BUT it fits the GB perfectly - minimal lateral/vertical movement but moves freely on the rails. @zknightzero I would suggest the AOE version of the XT Piston head - the AoE needed correcting on my gun - I don't normally bother with AoE corrections in general, but this gun needed it. You might also have to shave the second to last tooth down for clearance - a couple of minutes with a file should sort it. Oh, and almost all of my guns use POM piston heads from AK2M4. Much prefer them to the aluminium types.

Hello there - welcome to the forums. 28TPA works fine in my testing - runs much cooler and draws less amps. You will get a slight full-auto ROF reduction though - which is no bad thing with the tappet timing. The extra torque shouldn't be an issue with the stock gears. I would recommend replacing the Piston and Head. The all-plastic pistons don't seem to last long - a common complaint with KWA guns. Gate Titan II - make sure you have the latest firmware as there has been issues with the way that the Titan II (but not the original Titan) 'sees' the sector gear teeth in the firing cycle with the additional sensor fitted on the board.

Yep - I had a Gamo PCP (Venari). Moved onto an HW110 and I've just bought an AirArms S500 and the tactical platform chassis (yes that's a PTS stock as a placeholder) Struggling to find anything fun or exciting in Airsoft at the moment. I'm spending most of my spare time at the moment fussing over pellet choices and my 25m Benchrest scores. If it wasn't for my boys - I would consider moving on from Airsoft altogether. As it is, my youngest is 10 - so hasn't even played yet - but is absolutely desperate to play alongside me and his older brothers. So I keep going.

@HuttArmouriesLooks like a Wraith PDW stock to me - minus the carbon cheek piece. Where the tank screws into the rear of the receiver is the regulator. there should be a pressure adjustment screw. Hopefully this manual should cover it for you: https://www.wolverineairsoft.com/files/documentation/WRAITH Aero %26 PDW Owner's Manual.pdf

@Tackle Could be worse - it could be a Honda Jazz. Their drivers are worse than the Beemer/Audi lot around my neck of the woods, mostly wearing flat caps and driving half the speed limit.

Is it really? I mean really, really? Stop to look at the context - we run (or amble with intent) around, playing dress-up pretend solders, with toy guns to shoot little plastic balls at each other. In the grand scheme of things - nobody else gives a shit about how the organisation handles their constitution. I know I don't. You've laboured your point - if you have an issue with UKAPU - email them.

God - this is boring. At least Mr No_Face could throw a decent insult to get us old farts all riled up. This is just peddling pedantry.

Double Eagle or spend more?

I can never quite understand why players bog themselves down with a ton of useless kit in CQB (i.e. plate carriers with hydration carriers etc) - you just end up making loads of noise and smacking into things. Now with a just simple micro chest rig, a handful of midcaps and your gun stripped of all unnecessary accessories - you can be very, very sneaky in CQB. UCAP Valiant (Dorchester Prison) lends itself brilliantly to this - epic flanks can be done if you maintain noise discipline and you can easily find yourself behind the opposing team who are completely unaware. Good times. -
Great news - thanks for the update. Fair play to the tech I suppose - if you are a one-man band, you are only one significant life event away from (inadvertently) wrecking your business and pissing off your customers.

Pressing F for you. -
Since the HobbyKing UK Warehouse shutdown and Brexit - Turnigys are not viable anymore. I have ~30 Turnigy packs (for RC as well as Airsoft) but they will be reaching their end of life soon. It's unlikely that I will be replacing them all at current UK prices. Not quick from the HK warehouse in my experience - they used to send LiPos via boat (that might have changed though) and they last set I ordered from the HK warehouse took 14 weeks - but that was around 8 years ago to be fair. Never bought batteries direct from them again. Is the EU warehouse an option?

BFGs are allowed for normal game days there. Don't know if that's the case for the NAF though.

I would bet my left nut that some thundercnut will let off a pyro in the middle of the night for giggles. 3000 airsofters...in one place...with alcohol.....urghh. And those portaloos are going to be minging. 🤢 Have fun!
