  1. Let us know how it performs on the mk46. As really intrigued.
  2. The rifle in the vid is the colt model 715. Later known as the C7. I built mine a few years ago with help from Jonathan ferguason. He's helped me out with my 604 too. Got another project he's helped with in the pipe line too haha. Just to bore you about hahaha. The 715 in the video is very unique. It has mainly A2 features. But the upper is odd. It has an A1 rear sight, but has a A2 brass deflector. Also another M16 A2 with the auto selection. Was originally bought by the sas, but is now in use with pathfinders, paras and royal marines. Here's the one I built while back.
  3. So another British rifle added to the collection. To most its nothing special. "Just another M16vn"..... But here I have started to build a colt model 604. As issued to the British army in the late 60s, early 70s. Now the 604 is something of a Frankensteinian. It's neither a M16VN (XM16) or the later M16A1 (model 602). Main differences are compared to either the xm16 (VN) or the 602 (M16A2). The 604 comprises of a xm16 stock with a pivoting sling mount. Not the static version fitted to the later model 602. It also sports a partial fence. The XM16 was known as a slab side, where the 602 was a Full Fence. It also comes with an A1 barrel but still uses the early 3 prong (duck bill) flash hider. The British version also came with just plain export markings, aswell as being painted black with a paint called Suncorite. Now mine is still a work in progress. Ive had the markings filled. I'm still to source the correct rear sling mount, as well as the chromo smooth fake bolt. I then tried to replicate the suncurite paint best I could. As the real paint was just slapped on. I tried the same but in the pics looks smoother than it actually is. Only other thing is slings. Early version came with AR15 slings. But very quickly guys swapped these out for SLR slings. So will look at that in the future too. Next up. A British colt model 701. To most its just a M16A2.... It is, but not quite. Main difference being, the fire selection. The US issued A2 was colt model 702. Which externally are identical apart from the 702 was 3 round burst. Where the British issued 701 was full auto. Pictured here in use during OP barras in 2000. As far as I'm aware these where only purchased in small numbers, compared to the earlier colt model 715 (C7) which is still in wide use today. With mine, I've replicated the correct export markings along with with the correct "auto" one. Upper is just a standard G&P upper with a real A2 handguard.
  4. What brand is this, or has this been custom built, as a few things look "off".
  5. Yes they are doing a full steel version. Will quick release as per the real thing.
  6. I would absolutely love one.... But; A. Can't find one B. I have kids and can't afford one.... hahah Unless you know anywhere that takes buttons and tears of desperation.... hahaha

  8. Looks great. I done the same many years ago to a novak 1911 with vfc tac light. Looked amazing.
  9. Any distinct markings or impressions? As there's always one or up for sale.
  10. This advert is COMPLETED!

Looking for an early stark arms/vfc glock 17 gen 4 with the correct glock trades (as pictured). Not the latter stark arms marked type Ideally want good condition, but happy to see what's about, even boneyard.

    £123

  11. They've been saying that since before covid. Now I love my king arms L1A1. And after also owning the ares one too, the king arms is alot more compatible with real parts. Plus if your a stickler for realism. The ares has lots of serial numbers all over the body, and they're all wrong....
  12. Yes the price is a bit high. And yes for DCA isn't anything new. But these will be full steel! And alot of R&D has gone into these to be right to the British version, and not just another M240. And also about price, my inokatsu full steel was £1500 and that was 10 years ago! I then built a full steel L7A2 gpmg from scratch! And I can tell you it cost me alot more than £2k.... As for lambda, they are a mixed bag. Some people Rate them, some don't. But honestly I can say the same for most brands. I've had 6 Ares Sa80s, and 2 have been a constant issue, yet the rest have been absolutely fine. And as for internals, I haven't run a support gun yet where I haven't had to pull apart the internals or fiddle with the box mag to run right.
  13. The last piece of the puzzle now arrived. A custom made full steel accurate L7A2 barrel to finish off my steel L7A2 gpmg. Just need to get it engraved with the original Enfield markings, and to get it altered to take the original inokatsu hop unit. Now going to convert my old barrel into the newer type HK L7 barrel, and to use to replicate blank use too.
  14. Yeah, I had issues with them. Luckily it was only £40 I lost. But they kept saying they will send a part that they clearly never had. So asked for refund after refund for months and got nowhere. Then suddenly got an email from them stating they can't refund as gone past PayPal refund time..... Bunch of crooks. Won't use again.
  15. Yeah I get that bud. I've also had concerns about how far I go. But at same time it's a nice compliment When in person there are easy ways to tell. One is the serial number underneath as all ares start stx not avl. Second, the little hole at rear of the mount isn't present .
  16. The sa80 collection coming along. But been working on the UGL and the susats this weekend. All susats are the ARES variant.
  17. Nice... camo looks close to that of British forces on the game ArmA 3.
  18. Managed to get hold of both a 3d printed 6x acog and and a 7.62mm 6x spectre. The acog I added the British qr code and some etched numbers like the real one. The spectre I added the U.S correct qr sticker as well as butt numbers. Still some work to do to the acog to get it looking better.
  19. My guarder body had those, I broke them off and used with a g&p lower. You are right jez, g&p never had those lugs.
  20. Depends on the platform. If its a M249 or equivalent then ice always used an elcan. If its a mk23, stoner, strike kit or alike. Then a simple red dot or eotech. Anything bigger I used either a specter DR 4x or eventually found a specter 6x 7.62 version.
  21. So an update. The British collection so far. Law 66 L115A1 (Aw338) L100A1 (G3A4) L85A2/L123A2 l85A2 TES L128A1 (M1014 shotgun) L74A1 (870 shotgun) L91A1 (MP5 SD) L7A2 GPMG L108A1 (MK1 Minimi) L1A1 SLR Colt model 715 (C7) L119A1 SFW L119A1 CQB L92A1 (MP5 A3 embassy seige) L131A1 (Glock 17 gen 4) L105A2 (P226R) L9A1 (Browning HI Power) L85A2 (3 Para 2008) Colt model 725 (C8) L105A1 (P226 non railed) L22A2 L86A2
