Thanks to a member on this forum. Another British Marked Browning Mk3 So how have a mk2, mk3 early and now a mk3 late.

So main rifle is a classic army sar41 (mc51). The front end was a classic army MP5 SD. It takes a bit of work to get it all to fit. Some stick with just the mp5 cocking lever. But wanted to keep it realistic and used the G3 one. So had to elongate the slot for the cocking lever. Then you have to do a bit of cutting and filing on the inside to fit the mp5 front end. The sd handguard has to be dremeled wider at the back too, to fit over the g3 body.

No worries bud. Yeah I'm not sure. What makes me think it's a hk33 is size of ejection port and how thin the barrel possibly is. But it's a poor photo. Thing is with N.I. tours. They used alot of weapons for short periods as trials or specific things. But only a handful ever became "issued" or given an L designation. For example, the British army in N.I used the m79 "Blooper" extensively. But was never used anywhere else that I'm aware, or have seen. But I'm not going to go down that route too much or opens a can of worms.

Its not supposed to be a g3k. The G3A3&4 was in limit use in Northern Ireland. However... second pic looks like a hk33..... but is unclear. However.... the g3k is on my list to do next.

British Forces Collection updated. Now including SBS MC-51SD L101A1 (HK53) L9A1 DS (MK3 hi power) L117A1 (Sig P229) MODEL 603

Been working on this. FR Ordnance MC-51SD as made for the SAS/SBS Quite a bit needs altering to fit the mp5sd front to the G3 body. But only obvious mod externally is the charging slot was made longer to accommodate the G3 charging handle. But as no real pics available, it's hard to determine where the cocking lever actually stops on the SD variant. So stopped it just before sling point. Even though normal MC51 had the charging handle stop over the front sight.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

A 3d print of the shield sms susat mount. As used by UKSF. Painted and weathered to look metal. And a real shield red dot. -
As you say, I have had and sold alot of guns in my time. Now I can only speak for a few. I know a few are still running, and a few have died and been split. The the one I'm most proud of, was last year at NAF. Saw a TM famas, chatted to the guy, turns out it was my old one. Now I bought this famas new around 1997-98. And it's still going!!!! Damn things are indestructible. The one that broke my heart, was my TM M14 EBR. This had the full G&P EBR kit, correct king arms Silencer, G&P knights mounts. Real harris bipod. All G&P mid cap mags with 7.62 magpuls. The works. A year later, saw it for sale on an old forum that disappeared years ago (UKAZ, if any one remembers that one). Turns out he didn't like the ebr kit, found it too heavy. So stripped and sold it all, and turned it back to the basic M14 socom. Wasn't long after, that was then being sold for spares as had cracked the body and some how blown the gearbox. But didn't want to repair it. And that's one of about 5 guns I ever regretted selling.

Could be a newbie. Bought it, didn't enjoy the sport, trying to get rid.

Where did your forum name originate?

I thought it was from ww2, as the .50 ammo belts in the wings would measure 9 yards? I've heard so many variations of where it may come from. -
On the higher gas seems OK. Winter it does drop a little. But othe than hpa, not found a gbb pistol that doesn't drop slightly in winter. I did run on propane for a short while. But then you have to maintain the gun a bit more to stop it damaging the O rings. I've got a prime kit on another p226. Never had any issues to date. But the guarder body certainly looks sturdier. Which is weird as both ali and are similar size. May just be the paint coating playing tricks on the eyes.
-
I know it cost a bit to achieve. But if your looking for something that not only looks and feels stunning. But will also stand the test of time. Then may I suggest a TM P226 with full guarder kit! I ve got exactly that with the upgrades springs, hop up and blow back unit. Bought and put together by firesupport back in 2011. And never had an issue. And used it at weekend at NAF.
-
Thanks bud. Means alot. Yeah sure.
-
Seriously it is.... I was at NAF this weekend, and had them all set up. Didn't realise I had so much.
-
And another for the brit kit. An LCT HK53, set up as the L101A1/2 RM Close protection variant. Can't afford a real trijicon RX06, so this AIMO reflex will have to do. Note to self.... this collection is getting out of hand now... 🤣

Just to clarify, I don't have an issue with emailing, providing there's been a bit of chat or atleast some clarification sort of thing. Not in the very first message get a basic "I have this, email me @....... " Nothing about the items condition or any info for that matter, like you've got to go fishing for it all.
-
That's my thoughts, But was more it seems to becoming a regular occurance. So wasn't sure if a new thing to do or not. But will stick to my gut instinct and stick to the chat on here. Just been watchful as nearly scammed twice this year and twice before Xmas. The one before xmas was so comical. Was a user called "adams34". Who was trying to sell me something, and claiming it was his. Till I pointed out it was already sold else where. 🤣 Cheers bud.

Alright guys. So, I've been on these forums for a long long time. Yet comms have always been "normal" and convo and pics sent on the forum chat/message. But as of late, I'm Getting messages asking to go straight to email and chat there. And it's not just one or two. Which I just find a bit weird tbh. Now the old stickler in me, I just reject these messages, as can't see why you can't just chat send pics on the chat here. But I don't want to seem rude if they're genuine. Anyone else had this? And are they genuine?

I'm not normally an ak fan, but I can dig that.

Thanks for offer bud, but still wouldn't be the right one. The issued one is exclusive to the SA80 only as far as I'm Aware It's not a qd sling point, and is static in one position. I've purchased a multi position qd one for now, so It doesn't swivel. I may have to resort to making one. Here's the genuine one....

Right, hopefully it's there now. A few minor tweaks to sort. Cable and ptt for LLM 3d printed and put together. Found the correct LLM ptt rail holder. Unit colour added to LDS. QR codes also added. Still on the look out for the correct sling loop. But I know this is only exclusive to the sa80, so maybe waiting a while. Now to finish my Borneo SAS m16 (colt model 602) with early triangle type charging handle and grooved bolt catch.
