Exactly. people are prepared to spend hundreds on a gun, hundreds of exotic clothing snd 'load outs' then quibble over a few quid for eye protection.

Here is how I made my gun case.

Now they are old and have been stored outside since the 90's so they have a little rust on them.
 
The case itself is quite heavy being an army surplus ammo crate. They are air tight and water tight and the locks are very tough and hard to lock.
 
Mine came with the original inserts for the munitions it once held, which are certainly bigger than 50 cal.

 
I took the lid and give it a scrub down with a wire brush to get rid of all of the loose rust and then did the same to the case itself.
 
I then took the lid and painted it with some green Hammerite we had laying around, this is so that the lid is protected from rust and rain etc for the future.
After it had dried.
 
I then started looking at foam to put in it, I figured most gun cases have egg box style foam in so I bought a sheet of it measuring 2m L x 2m W x 3mm H and cut it to size in 3 pieces. 1 for the bottom and lengthways sides. Then the other 2 for the other sides.
 
I then purchased some spray glue (carpet adhesive) and sprayed the inside and fitted the foam and then let it dry.
 
The final product turned out quite well, its not as good as a professional but it will do!

A new arrival, hailing from sunny Wales - south originally, west, currently. I'm pretty damn new to the world of airsofting, having never skirmished (but hopefully looking to go to a few here and there) and also having only owned one AEG before (a really, really cheap CYMA G36C back when I was 15), but my interest got rekindled recently.
 
I've just bought myself an ICS AK74 and before and since then, I found myself browsing countless forums for info on various topics, so I though it best to actually join one. Although i'm most likely going to be just lurking and reading due to my pretty weak knowledge on the topic, I might throw a few things out around here or there. (The DIY thread is especially interesting to me right now.)
 
From what i've been reading, you guys seem to have a pretty good, mellow and understanding attitiude here, which is cool.

(Apologies in advance for the long-winded nature of my posts, I have never been good at keeping it short and simple on forums, so if you TL;DR most of what I say, I understand. )

Great gun. Nice feel and weight, however if you want to use it for CQB you will need downgrade shells.
 
Also you can mod all of the dan wessons to be stupidly powerful, but then they are too powerful to use anywhere.
 
Easy to strip and you can see everything and you don't have to worry about anything jumping out or springing out when you strip it.
