I heard somewhere that the officer had taken first pressure, which is a knats hair from going bang. If you see the video of the officers attending the Lee Rigby incident they decamp, draw and fire in about a second

I know that no one on here would do something so silly but this video really puts into perspective how quickly your life could end if you carry your RIF in public.

Its good practice basically.. we all know its airsoft and very little is going to happen.. but having been shot on the top of the fore head with no eye pro on in the safe zone because of some prats ill trigger discipline makes you think twice about it

I've always found trigger discipline and weapon handling stuff kind of obvious and natural to do.
For example your grip on a pistol should be as high up on the frame as possible but sometimes you see people holding it like half way and it looks retarded, not to mention completely impractical and probably uncomfortable.
I don't know why you would do that.
Reminds me of that kid on one of scoutthedoggie's videos with an MP5 and was holding the grip with his left hand and the stock with his right or something.

Like Nickona said it's just a bad attitude / not good practice to have your finger on the trigger. We could all say 'oh well we're not stupid enough to have it loaded' etc but obviously we do it for a reason anyway. Nothing bad is likely to happen but it could so you should be careful and responsible, even if it is just a replica it's still capable of firing a pellet and regardless of where it hits someone it's still not supposed to be discharged in the safe zone or whatever.

He's got eye pro on and he's at home and everything so it's fine really.

Would not even dream of such a thing, imo anybody who displays a RIF in public is an idiot.

The lad was a idiot. I mean what absolute moron thinks it's okay to go out in public with a replica weapon amongst people who won't be able to distinguish it from the real thing? The fool.

Treat your RIF like your genitals, don't get it out in public, don't wave it about where neighbors can see and don't be a dick! The only time you should have it out is when your in the woods with strangers.
....Oh no this metaphor was a bad choice

Another problem is power source. It seems to run on some form of chemical battery rather than the usual NiMH or a lipo. Its really low voltage electrically but it uses a chemical energy as well to drive the gears. You can't just leave it the cupboard either, you need to charge it everyday or it breaks and will never work again.

It can come in a range of colours at least, from pink to brown. However there isn't a nice shiny metallic black option and if you bang it into something it damages really easily. They developed some self healing technology which deals with the vast majority of issues within a week which is really quite incredible but you do need to take care of it.

People who know me will likely know that I have a bit of a thing for The Embassy in Leicester. It's local, it's great to play in and the marshals are great. Unfortunately, the site is closing as the developers are now beginning building work. Last game is 24th May.

Today, First and Only announced a new site in Leicester. The Towers Hospital. 1.2 Million square foot of CQB in an old hospital built in the late 1800s. It looks like it could be exactly what I was looking for and it's within walking distance of my house!

We get a lot of new airsofters down south- the facilities are there as many sites round me do U18 game days- however because of this influx there are more kids who turn up with JBBG special 2tones, who then need re-education in professional airsoft consumerism.

I am completely new to the world of airsoft and fell into it by accident.

I have been an avid airgunner for longer than I care to remember and while away many a pleasant hour hunting vermin for some of the local farmers.

Having grown up in South Africa and having a background in the military and policing, I have developed a passion for anything firearm related.
I have always owned air rifles and the closest I got to a pistol after leaving SA was a plastic single shot sig p220. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and had loads of fun plinking away at paper targets. I got so good with it that I could hit a billboard sized target from a foot away almost 50% of the time. This thing could punch a hole through a piece of wet single ply toilet paper from well over a hundred millimetres away with ease. It was possibly the most dangerous pistol I had ever owned and lived with the constant fear of being seriously injured by a BB bouncing of the ground and hitting me in the ankle.
I later discovered that there were other pistols out there that were a little more challenging. I acquired a rather pleasant umarex cp88 in .177 and the sig was retired to the cupboard.

My father (78 years old and still shoots) introduced me to the world of steel bb's. He had an obscenely large Dan Wesson that looks like .38 special on steroids. He took me to his local gunshop where he gets his ammo from and I found and fell in love with the TFW 1911. My fathers preferred side arm back home was the 1911, I don't ever remember him not having it with him.

Anyway I finally purchased a TFW and was not only impressed with the shooting realism of it but was overjoyed at the fact that it could be stripped like the real thing.
Sadly my father was diagnosed with cancer and as a result of the chemo was unable to shoot.
He still went on about the TFW and after a lot of searching I found a reasonably priced second hand one for him. Having spent more time than I care to remember in armouries gun smithing (hence the name), I did a complete rebuild on this second hand pistol. It was polished, hand engraved and chased and I made him a bespoke set of grips. He was so pleased that he took the pistol into the gunshop to show the owner. It turns out that he is into skirmishing and owns a mini arsenal.
He asked me if I could make him a set of grips for his S.T.A.R.S m92. What a silly question. I of course agreed but when the pistol arrived it was the most battered, hammered and well used pistol I had seen.
After hours of work I transformed this pistol into a thing of beauty.
I stupidly asked if there was anything else he needed doing and now have a Mac10 and Dragunov to rebuild.

My main aim for joining the airsoft forums is to learn a little more about the sport, perhaps get involved as well but also to keep my eye open for spare parts.

    That's me in a nutshell.
