Why would they, when it's packed to capacity every year?

I'm very much of the opinion that everyone should know (or be able to find out) what to expect, and if that's not what they're after, just find something else to do that weekend and let those who enjoy it enjoy it.  There would have to be some sort of monumental life-altering cock-up to surprise me now.

Yep, you still can I believe.  There's a post on one of the FB groups right now where one guy showed the price differences.  Interesting stuff indeed.  Seemed going through PB added around £70 to the TG price that we used to get pre-Brexit.

It's probably an old price before the value of the £ dropped like a sack of spuds against the $.  1.38 last year, now 1.15 (ouch).

In the catalog there's only $3 different between the C and D 🙂

    Ouch.

So only feasible for Distributors or big retail companies like Patrolbase - who had a turnover of £8.6m last year.

My little order from AK2M4 came through the post today (great service as always). New 240mm ZCI barrel paired with a gear parts omega nub and a old ML bucking. To finish off they are inside a new ZCI hop up unit.

    Reason I've upgraded the hop up unit in all my DE guys is for 2 reasons;

The first is the arm has a different moulded end and the omega style nub doesn't fit in there properly.

Secondly the standard DE hop adjust wheel only has half the adjustment range as the ZCI or similar design (I used a specna arms one for reference).

Hopefully now it will lift and fire .30g as well and as far as my other DE guns.

@Cr0-Magnon When Luke did the work did he configure it as a DMR originally?  For standard builds he does a lot short-stroking.  I don't know much about those G2 gearboxes.
@Lozart From memory I think it's the other way round, the zci hop window is around 1.5mm longer for the MR patch, but it's never really caused me an issue on testing, however every single brand will react differently.

Out of interest what type of cylinder does it come with, you mentioned the stock inner barrel is 463mm so I'm assuming closed?

Normally I'd get all <ackchually> over this, but just for once I'm going to take a higher level view:

OP lost a sale and created this drama through being overly paranoid, because nobody cares.

Police forces and Trading Standards don't care.  Nobody is enforcing this.  No private seller is ever, in practice, going to be asked to provide a defence.

Even if they were, there are no standards for it.  A simple declaration by the buyer about the intended use would satisfy the letter of the law.  UKARA, and all equivalent schemes, are suggestive, not prescriptive.

Given any evidence that the buyer is a regular airsoft player, I'd have no qualms at all about selling to them.

Oh, and nobody is going to care about GDPR complaints either.  Not while there are feelings being hurt on Facebook.

From what little I know about GDPR apparently it's acceptable to share data / information without consent if there's a lawful basis.  Since you're accessing this information to check the buyers eligibility under UK law I would have thought this constitutes a "lawful basis" but I'm no "para legal".

However if he's already given you his UKARA he could also grant you permission / consent for the retailer to check this information.

    That's my take on it.

Note - for the ‘lawful basis’ context, the OP would be the law checking up on someone. As opposed to using the UKARA as a source to confirm the information provided.

Anyone who would be committing a GDPR offence with UKARA data would be the data holders.
Either the central UKARA register, or the sites register.

The data is collected for specified purposes, which include checking a registered players details are valid.
The data should not be held longer than required ….. so in theory expired memberships could be deleted and validation would come back as failed
But legacy data can be retained for a reasonable period to protect sellers if they needed to legally justify a past sale.

The guy is being a dick, but they are also correct that UKARA details are not required and the seller could ‘legally’ sell based on other ‘evidence’ such as photos of playing
(But it is up to the seller what they accept as it is the seller who is legally responsible for any UKARA offence)
(((PPS as a former ‘former police officer’, what would be their opinion of gov.uk websites & the motor insurance industry providing open access to whether or not a vehicles registration has valid MOT, road duty & insurance, including a full MOT history of failures ?

That can tell you a fair bit of ‘personal’ information about the owners

Ahhh right, yeah it's if one of those then it'll be bang on.  My M110 has done 500,000 and still at M110.  Could be one of many things buddy, air nozzle is a good place to start, also make sure no clogged vents on the piston head etc.

What's the inner barrel length and the cylinder type?

What fps are you getting with the M110?  Technically that should put you over the limit.  Worth looking into.

ak2m4 reacted to Rogerborg in UKARA - yes I know it should be a banned topic….but
Can't see where I was disagreeing.  I'm actually of the opinion that retailers have become too lax, given the apparent lack of policing of sales.

That was my point: PatrolBase do accept things other than UKARA.  As they can and should.

They do seem to take providing them some sort of defence more seriously than other retailers, some of who sell and accept a completely bogus defence, and one which asks for a membership number, but then just lets you tick a box, as per this:

Something that I actually agree with, because the defence concerns itself with future intentions, not past actions.

Yup.  My view is that if you have a game of airsoft booked for next weekend, that actually matches the "for the purposes of" defence more closely than what you might have done last Sunday.

The caveat to all of this is that our defence was granted on a whim that isn't explicit even in secondary legislation, but only in an explanatory note accompanying it, which could be amended or withdrawn at any time.

So while we all know that the current system is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard, it does sadden me to see airsoft retailers doing public end-runs around it with nonsense like "cosplay" defences, which just invites the banhammer to fall on us.
