  1. Either fake or a faulty batch maybe? No idea tbh. If you do decide to get some more goggles I cant recommend Revision Bullet Ants enough, got mine for under £20 as surplus (UK army drivers use them) and they've been brilliant, can even supposedly withstand a shotgun blast from 5m. Only two times they've fogged up badly was on a very warm, wet day when sitting in a small bunker, lack of air movement caused problems. If you do get a pair, rip out the foam filters before use, unless you're planning on spending time in a desert they do nothing except block airflow.
  2. Anyone here use an element eotech lense protector? The one I received is completely useless as it distortes everything. Am I unlucky or are they all crap?

Pull the film off the lense mate I got mine and realised not long after it has a protective film applied

Unless it's about 1 micron thick, there's no film on it

  3. It 'should' be able to take almost any m4 style magazine, there will always be some exceptions but almost any of them will most likely work fine. The regular G&G hi-caps are good quality and reasonably priced, if you're after mid-caps though you'll most likely have to try another brand as the G&G ones seem to be a pain to get hold of.
  4. 8.4v NiMH is fine but a 7.4v LIPO would be better, they're not difficult to use as long as you've done a bit of simple reading up beforehand and have a decent charger, they're perfectly safe as long as you follow some basic rules. A 7.4v LIPO wont give you a crazy rate of fire but it will greatly improve trigger response (when the trigger is pulled, gun reacts more quickly) and you'll get a higher capacity for the size of battery.
  5. Internally those two should be identical, so I'd just go with whatever you like the look of more as they're both good guns. For batteries I'd go with 7.4v LIPO's, you'll need to do a bit of research beforehand to learn how to use them safely (they catch fire/explode if charged/discharged incorrectly), but they'll have a better performance then NiMH's. One of the best places for batteries and chargers is http://componentshop.co.uk/ I use this charger: http://www.componentshop.co.uk/accucel-6-digital-charger.html Will charge almost all types of battery including LIPO and LIFE, this version requires a 12v car battery to power it, the slightly more expensive version comes with a mains adapter.
  6. I'm a regular at Bunker 39 if you want to know more about the site, cant for the life of me remember their policy towards <16's and accompanying adults though.
  7. Good quality for the money does not = will never break. G&G Combat machines are very good value for money, but they inevitably can and will eventually break. It's the same with any airsoft gun, the better quality ones may last longer / better accuracy / rof / etc etc but they will all break down at some point in time. Although some brands though expensive will disintegrate when you so much as look at them.
  8. Turns out G&G wiill happily supply individual parts directly! Top rail and front iron sight for $30 +p&p, seems like a damn good price.

Is this from GP Airsoft UK, or actually straight through them as in you can contact them through their proper website or something?

I just went to guay2 and e-mailed their sales department, got back to me quickly, even the English was excellent. Sent them my paypal details, just waiting for them to send the invoice.

Invoice through, £27.36 inc postage! Seems like guay2 is the place to go for spares.

  9. Or one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SJ4000-Silver-Action-Waterproof-helmetcam/dp/B00HHRFHG6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400530413&sr=8-1&keywords=action+camera+4000 From what I've seen the footage is as good, if not better then a GoPro, no idea what the build quality is like though.
  10. Anyone know of a retailer which will order in specific AEG components from manufacturers on demand (G&G to be precise)?

Unfortunately it's the non-hunter version which I'm after. Found the 3x zoom was a PITA at my regular site, whilst the rail it's got at the moment will work with a regular sight, it's plastic and a bit low. ris riser might work, but then it's more weight on the plastic rail.

  11. Get one of these: http://www.componentshop.co.uk/accucel-6-digital-charger.html You'll need a 12v car battery to charge from using that version. Or this one: http://www.componentshop.co.uk/accucel-6-digital-charger-3282.html Which comes with a mains adapter. Very good charger, will do NiMh, Lipo, Life and some others as well. I use it on 7.4v 2200mah Lipo's from the same site. Edit: Before you start using Lipo batteries, google up some guides on charging and use of them. They can be dangerous if used incorrectly, especially if charging on the wrong settings. You will also want to change the connector type in your gun, most people use deans connectors (the little red block type connectors), I use XT60's which are pretty similar. It's very easy to use these as long as you have some basic knowledge of a soldering iron.
  12. Could be a problem with the spring inside the bottom of the magazine. Hi-caps are very easy to take apart. There will be a screw in the base of the mag, undo this and the entire plastic internal part will slide out of the top, there's a couple of small springs to keep an eye on as they can be a bit fiddly to get back in to place. There will then be a large 'cog' at the bottom which will split into two pieces, inside of which will be the coiled metal spring. I had an issue with one of my G&G hicaps after it got dropped in a stream, must have got a bit manky on the inside then when wound part of the spring snapped. Simply bent another section round the middle of the cog and it was good to go.
  13. The rail is terribly overpriced for what it is, would love to get one but never for that kind of money. The stock grip is surprisingly comfortable though, if a bit bulky. My site is OK with the adjustable fps, but at some point I may just swap the spring for one which does 350 on max, which should avoid any issues.
  14. Wow, looks awesome with that stubby suppressor, stock flash hider looked a bit 'meh'. Internally what's it like for replacement parts?
  15. Hadn't heard of this shop before last weekend, only found out they exist from the retailers list on UKARA. Well designed website, everything clear and well laid out. Although item descriptions do appear to have been copy/pasted from another store. Online ordering process was hassle free, extremely simple to set up an account. Communication was excellent and yet slightly lacking at the same time. After ordering I received a phone call the next working day telling me that there had been a stock error and one of the AEG's I'd ordered was in fact not in stock, they apologized and to make up for it offered me a slightly more expensive model for no extra cost, which was very decent of them. However, they didn't inform me when the order had been dispatched or provide a tracking number, they also didn't mention that one other item was out of stock at time of ordering (site showed as being available), although when e-mailed they replied within minutes politely apologized and let me know that it had been dispatched separately via royal mail. So all in all not bad, just better stock updating and information regarding orders would be nice. Great selection of G&G gear as well.
  16. G&G G2010 (F2000), just got myself the hunter version. Other then the buttpad being a pain in the arse to get on it's a very nice AEG, also takes stanag mags. However, it does kind of look like a big black fish.
  17. Anyone used http://www.a1airsoft.co.uk before? They seem to be the only place in the UK with what I want in stock, but never heard of them before.

Yeah I was surprised about the lack of info, they've got a lot of stock and the prices are competitive. Well designed website as well, much better then some of the more popular places.

I'd just like the option of buying something nice and wood stocked without it being ruined by bright green paint lol

Just take the paint off a two tone, or repaint one.

You're an airsofter and you can prove it, nothing says the defence is only valid if you're over 18, that's just for purchasing.

The ACPO have said the VCRA is unenforcible so you literally cannot be arrested for manufacturing a RIF. At least not an airsoft one lol.

shit for that, not for changing the colour of it.

  19. You should be able to stretch the rubber outer away from the lenses a bit to pry them out, when you put another lense in line up the ridges before popping it in.Shouldn't be glue on anything except the foam filters which you should just pull out, they don't do anything except hinder airflow if you're not in a desert.
  20. How long did you guys have to wait for UKARA? Almost a month for me, starting to think it's gone missing...

Unfortunately the guy who stamped the form at my site sent it off, so not sure exactly what he did with it. In retrospect I should have done it all myself, might get another form if it's not through by the weekend.

  21. If you want something fun, but not really skirmishable, try a Dan Wesson revolver. They're CO2 powered and chamber 6 shells which each take a single bb in the front, pretty much functions like the real thing. Nice build quality, good weight, feels solid as anything and looks very cool. Unfortunately don't own one myself but had a go at shooting downrange with the 4" version a couple weeks back with some metal bb's. From what I remember although you can get low power shells to make it useable on the field (standard ones shoot very hot) they don't use 6mm rounds, making sourcing plastic ammunition quite difficult. Edit: On the other hand though I may be completely wrong, unless wolf armouries are incorrect they do fire 6mm. http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=17351
