  1. They work fine for me but I only have AEGs so no real issue with recoil!
  2. I have a few Vector Optics scopes and one of their "budget" range branded Victoptics. They're all really good, sharp image, good quality controls. The Victoptics one is first focal plane too!
  3. Is that the Airsoft Artisan PMM kit?
  4. If there's no other manufacturers names on it I'd say it's most likely an ASG/B&T licenced one. Copy of the old Classic Army design.
  5. Hang on...do you mean Scotch Whisky? Or are you including Maker's Mark, Suntory etc? What about the single malts from Blackmills?
  6. No problem! To be fair we've all been guilty of going down the "REPLACE ALL THE THINGS!!!!" route at some point or other! Most guns come with a hop rubber that's way too hard for UK FPS limits anyway so I tend to try it for a bit then chuck it and replace with either the ubiquitous Prommy purple or a Maple Leaf (and Omega nub).
  7. Fitting a Titan won't increase your rate of fire but it should improve your trigger response, 30 RPS is getting up towards sewing machine territory so it's not really my wheelhouse but I'd say you're looking at lower than 16:1 for sure (depending on your spring etc) probably more like 13:1. Bear in mind that you could easily get a better rof just by using an 11.1v battery but you would still need to take things like pre-engagement into account. The TK45 uses a V2.5 gearbox so that's going to be different from the get-go, again though it's less popular than things like the ARP9 and the Classic Army X45. KWA in general in the UK are fairly uncommon (mostly down to cost to be fair). Not a lot has changed in the last 5 years in terms of basic gearbox design though. As far as the Virgo and the Avalon gearbox goes though, it's already got the electronic gubbins in so in theory you'd save the cost of the Titan (whether or not the VFC ECS system is actually any better is not something I can comment on having only used either Gate or BTC units). The rest of the mechanics is still just basic gears and pistons though so that's going to be no different than your old one. Worth a look at this ref the Avalon gearbox:
  8. Unfortunately you've asked a question that's come up a thousand times before - you're eyeing up a decent gun and asked what needs doing to it then proposed a huge list of non-specific shiny parts that you're thinking of putting into it. It's kind of like going into a BMW showroom and asking what the performance is like then telling the salesman that you're planning on replacing the engine and the wheels with something completely different when you get it home. Regardless, you did specify things like rof, fps and range but not how high a rof or what sort of range. The FPS you mentioned has a massive variation too.
  9. You mentioned a gun, said it was "great out of the box" barring the hop rubber and then asked if it was a good idea to literally rip out all the parts that make it a good gun and replace them with different parts despite having no experience doing it. You've said you want the holy grail of increased RoF, range and consistency when you haven't even tried it, apparently basing your view on having to replace all those bits in a completely different gun from a completely different manufacturer. Standard advice in this position is to leave it the fuck alone until you've actually used it and decided what is lacking then fix that. To use your own words "I don't want to change something that is actually worth keeping"
  10. The difference is so small it can easily come down to how well they've been soldered on. Which is always an issue with soldered connections to be honest, it's why any industry that relies on good, reliable electrical connections has moved away from it!
  11. Electrically the Deans are marginally lower resistance and physically smaller than XT60s but the XT60s do have a more positive locking action. XT60's are easier to solder as they have proper round pins with solder cups and are easier to not overheat which can bugger up the pin alignment. In terms of genuine vs copy Deans, the contact quality is much better on the legit ones and they're really not that much more expensive. Add to that the fact that it's highly likely that nobody else on your site will be using XT60's meaning that you won't be able to borrow a battery (unless you have adaptors) and the Deans are potentially the better bet.
  12. XT60's are arguably better connectors, Deans are fine IF you get proper ones not the cheap copies. XT60's are easier to solder and cheaper to buy though.
  13. It was crap before you took it apart...

  15. @Sitting Duck will probably be better equipped to answer this but I think you may have too weak a spring for the gear ratio you're using.
  16. Despite having been told that a ML rubber had been fitted by the shop that put the aa hop in it is still running the original rubber and barrel. He's getting around 460-470 fps currently.
  17. Cool. Plan is to fit the original hop unit as soon as he manages to find it! Any recommendations on rubbers? I did suggest he get a better inner barrel so vsr rubbers would be an option.
  18. Seems I have a similar mate. He's had the AA hop chamber fitted and a stronger spring. Now the bolt is super tough to pull and the BBs either get chopped or double feed depending on the adjustment of the BB stoppers. If I get the stoppers to actually not double feed the nozzle doesn't seem to want to seat forward properly. Is there any way to fix this beyond putting the original hop unit back in?

  21. Yes, I usually buy the FMA ones because they a) fit better and b) are far more adjustable with individual pads etc. The Emerson/Nuprol ones that just have a solid liner are properly gash.
  22. It's not so much the fogging as the "raining out" that bothers me, up in the top inner corners of the lenses. I do sweat like a paedophile in Mothercare at the best of times though!
