Where do I start? Maybe with they're rare because they were discontinued as they didn't sell well due to being crap and unreliable so good luck to anyone who wants spare parts or extra magazines.

Or maybe that they were £100 new.

Oh and they never had a bolt hold open so the crap repair makes no difference

Who the fuck would put a turd like that in a display case 👀

    I don’t think it will

The only thing I found that will remove anodising is drain cleaner, it needs a soak in that and a good brillo

Ano goes into the aluminiums pores, you really need something VERY aggressive to remove that (and whatever you use will also want to remove your skin!)

I stripped shitty not quite anodising that PTS uses with nail polish remover, which is only 30% acetone, off a Magpul PTS Masada, that was less than a year old, given these haven't even been made in near 10 years, and you don't know the state of it under the paint, the risk is too high.

Hard anodising goes into the pores, normal does not. Hard Anodising is expensive, PTS cut corners and cheaped out, as you could lift it with light scuffing.

Doesn't MWS limit you to just AR-based guns? (And a SCAR-L for a lot of money)

TM AKX et al are also empirically better than WE AK's, if not compatible with many RS parts, but then most will take a functioning gun over a pretty one.

  4. Been a user of WE since the closed bolt era, but i'm now swapping to TM as I don't have to stick with a single, shit aftermarket option (note, not upgrade, aftermarket, as they're anything but upgrades).

Also another consideration, WE V2 (what most retailers in the UK have in stock at the moment, and what all used sales will be) is now end of life, as V3 has been released 4-5 months ago. There isn't enough information on the reliability of V3 to be able to recommend them, and V2 parts ceased being manufactured 3 months prior to the first production runs of V3, so parts will start to become more scarce.

I'm not certain at all, but I think Tectonic might be a bloke who's notorious for being the worst businessman in airsoft. Has started and failed as many ventures as I've had hot dinners, often disappearing with people's money. Keith.. something, I believe. Someone here will have heard of his antics at some point.

As I say I'm definitely not certain that Tectonic is this specific bloke, I just know the last thing he started up was a company making BFGs. The taking of money and not delivering product with all sorts of bs excuses about supply chain etc fit the MO of this person.

    Yes, that guy.

No, i just swapped 'em straight in. Assumed the softer rate would offset against the longer 300mm length. I'm guessing i should?

Recommended on HRC is to make them 230mm long, to stop misfeeds - which is typically caused by bolt bounce.

I'm not sure if i'm going to be much help here... Very new to GBBR, and not exactly a whizz with hpa either!

This is an APFG MCX Spear, which i believe is based/made by VFC.

Its got the Airtac VFC adapter in it with a PTS short 170rnd mag.

Plays nicely at 120psi on the regulator which is handy as my DMR's are set to that too. The npas was removed as it fell out whilst tinkering and i've not bothered to put it back in yet. Ive since fitted the winter springs as recommended on this forum but i appear to be getting bolt bounce so may swap these out and/or refit the npas.

I've not used it in game yet so ive no idea how it will perform. Thinking of spraying the adapter tan to blend it in a bit too

Did you shorten said winter springs to 230mm?

And I can use any branded AEG m4 mags. So I could get a 5x pack of specna arms aeg mid caps and that would just work in the VFC hpa mag adaptor?

Airtac adapters need to use AEG mags with a significantly higher spring strength, cheap AEG mags are almost always not up to snuff. PTSEPM1/1S definitely work (what the adapters are designed around), older EPM's (Gen1) do not. Mags i've tested that do not work, anything made by KWA, Specna, Ares, Classic Army. Some CYMA's can work, but only more modern ones, G&G are hit and miss - if they have the follower that goes outside of the mag lip, forget it, G&P Troy mags will work, but you'll have to part fill.

PSI wise, it'll depend solely on if the adapter in question has a built in expansion chamber, if it does you will be able to run it on 80-100PSI. If it feeds the line through the adapter direct to the output valve, it won't run on anything less than 120-130PSI, and probably more realistically 140-145psi (and if you've got heavy bolt, or other heavy recoil mods, higher PSI to overcome mass).

Edit: Looked at them. Neither variant of airtac for VFC M4 has an expansion chamber, so its higher PSI almost certainly.
