  1. I like having 'hipster' gear, I don't like looking the same as everyone else on the field. Although sometimes it has it's drawbacks in the uniqueness : comfort : usefulness ratio. Sometimes an item I buy can be really unique and useful but not comfortable, comfortable & unique but not useful etc. I'm actually really reluctant making these posts to newbies guiding them to the gear I use, as I know if they buy some of it there will be a lot less uniqueness to my setup if more people use it I've always strived for a unique look in loadouts- hence my M4 with mud brown furniture
  2. A friend of mine owns an SRC Tokarev and uses it as part of his 70s-80s Soviet loadout; as there's no decent Makarov on the market he was forced to use a TT-33 with his loadout and he absolutely hates it. He's had nothing but trouble with it, and this is a guy who owns several other niche Soviet guns (including a Silverback PP-19) which there are barely any spares available for. He actually refrains from using it as it vents really frequently and he has to keep plenty of spare mag lips, as his break too frequently
  3. He does when I view his channel https://www.youtube.com/user/OperationAirsoftChan/videos

I don't like the way Dice and EA are taking the series- it seems more like EA are trying to peddle a new BF game every year like Activision do with COD.
  5. Sorry to rain on your parade mate but that PC looks more like it's in Multiland: It's used as an arid variant of the camouflage Vegetato, which is used by Italian forces http://camouflage.wikia.com/wiki/Multiland
  6. Welcome to the forums mate, any questions just make a thread so we can answer them
  7. I've seen a fair bit of tigerstripe around recently. There's a few guys at my local who use it, and there's 1 or 2 who use Arid tigerstripe:
  8. I don't want to sound too disrespectful, Flex, but you don't need another gun for a while- and you definitely don't need to spend £300-£400 on one until you get a UKARA or similar registration. Focus on accumulating kit such as: A decent pair of boots Facial protection Magazines and batteries for your existing gun A chest rig/plate carrier/assault vest/belt kit to carry mags, BBs, batteries etc A hydration system such as a knockoff camelback or a decent water bottle A pair of sturdy combat gloves? A set of proper tactical clothing that will last, such as Propper, 5.11 and others Maybe further down the line a sidearm, holster and mags for it? Maybe look at GBBRs later on? It's not just about 'not minding' maintenance on them, you also have to have the capability and determination (as well as a steady supply of funds) to keep maintaining one.
  9. Tigerstripe was developed for rainforest use in South Vietnam during the war- Vietnamese rain forests have a lot of plant foliage which is not vertical, like this: The lack of vertical trees means the Tigerstripe pattern is more effective in this environment, and the blacks, greens and browns of the tigerstripe pattern fit in with irregular shadow created by plants, the different hues of green in different plant species and the mud of the rainforest floor.
  10. I'm unsure about woodland Tigerstripe but I really like desert Tigerstripe. Arid Tigerstripe's OK though.
  11. Idk about anti material rifle use at Bisley. I know you can do other fullbore shooting there though
  12. It's definitely legal to buy and own a military grade sniper rifle with the right license, as long as it's bolt action. Hell, it's even legal to own bolt action rifles chambered in .50bmg (like the Barrett M99 and M95) if you can afford it, although the only ranges you can fire one on are either military or up in Yorkshire.
  13. Tbh I'm glad I've never seen them outside of a horror bag/box
  14. Not forgetting the dodgy 'Tayto' crisps....made in Ulster, free C4 charge with every multipack!
  15. If you go with a family member to an O18 game and rent for a few skirmishes, then they could qualify for a UKARA defence and be able to buy you a RiF. Otherwise you could play there and get a junior membership (If they offer one?). Once you get a junior membership I think it works in the way that you can buy a RIF with your own funds if a parent or over 18 carer is present. Cyma models over CM.048 are the best as they are 99% steel, but require a downgrade OOB as they shoot a little hot, as well as maybe some gearbox TLC. G&G RK47s are supposed to be epic as well, Ed has one and he loves it
  16. You'd have to do that for a pistol anyway- and what happens if the site you've just been to closes or you go to a different site to try it out? You'd be left with a pistol and you'd be £35 poorer because you'd have to rent. In 4 games of £35 rent fee on top you'd spend more than the price of a new CM16
  17. Why buy a pistol when you should buy an AEG first? Jesus Christ.
  18. But yeah back on topic- I'd love to do some 5.56 shooting with a different weapons system, and I'd equally like to have a go with an MP5 or similar 9mm SMG- permission from local police is one thing, but importing fully automatic weapons systems into this country is entirely another. If you're planning on buying ex-army systems then fair enough; however if you're buying direct from dealers and manufacturers in the US or in Germany, you would find it difficult to get it past borders on both sides
  19. An L98A1? They've all been recycled, we use a semi auto locked SA80 rifle now under designation L98A2.
  20. Ya know, there is a dedicated gun/gear review section on this site
  21. PlastiKote is utter SHITE. It's not proper matte at all (my M4 was reflecting ambient light off the PlastiKote painted parts) and if you don't treat it with a protective coat it will come off with a fingernail. IMO Krylon is the best I've used and is actually suited for painting weapons, be they real steel or airsoft, as you don't need to put a lot of effort in for a decent effect and it will stay on even if you scrape it against plastic buckles etc.
  22. If you bought the charger I linked a while ago, it's £12 for the charger as well as the PSU- and it's great as a basic charger. I've had mine since April and I've had literally no issues with it or with LiPo batteries. And reading the first post, i literally face palmed- you seem to be basing your knowledge of LiPo safety off videos and data from the internet where testers go out and purposefully try to break/destroy the batteries to see how durable they are. If you treat the battery right and don't overcharge it you should be fine. The battery you linked should charge safely in about 1.6-2 hours
  23. I have the same problem with tight body pins on my M4- I can't even remove the front sight because of it!
  24. If you can afford it, maybe go down a VN war post 1970 marksman route? With an upgraded wooden stocked M14, telescopic sights, full tigerstripe uniform and some ALICE webbing along with a green beret style headdress?
  25. Yeah, load it up with 0.20s and fire a few hundred rounds. That should do it
