What is all this "warrior" stuff?

As for the SLR and chicken wings, the first few seconds of this are quite interesting; this is certainly how I was taught to shoot the thing.

As above, standard gear ratios are usually 18:1. 16:1 will make your gun run faster (not loads more but even so). These are very good https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/gears/zci-gear-set-advanced-18-1 these are at the very least better than the ones that are in there right now https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/gears/shs-18-gearset
Set of shims https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/zci-shim-set?search=shim (do your research on YouTube and TAKE. YOUR. TIME.)
Get some decent lube and clean the gearbox out while you're at it.

They are most likely 18:1; you can check the ratio by counting the teeth on each one and working out the ratio that way.

That would explain it!  That piece pushes the tappet plate back, allowing a BB to feed.

It is indeed the sector gear, but you would probably be best advised to buy a whole new 16:1 gearset from someone like AK2M4 (allegedly, other purveyors of airsoft bits and pieces do exist), along with a delayer chip to ensure that the tappet plate stays back long enough.

Whatever you do, you are going to have to do some shimming to ensure that the gears are spaced properly.  There are some very good guides to this online.

Surely being humiliated and losing your game fee by being thrown off site should be reserved for the most egregious behaviour. There were all kinds of solutions here other than kicking the player out.

Utter bollocks!  The guy's gun was within limits on the weight he was using; chronoing him on a heavier weight than he was using and them booting him off site is out of order.

Yes point is there on alot of things . But I am not getting at the joule creep malarky
I am getting at that was in there limits for .25 which he was using both times he was tested. So why be kicked off for joule creep on the heavy bb which he want using ??

If ur mws had gone over by that 1fps then u would have be kicked .. and u would have felt the same .

They just asked what BB was running and chrono with that at first chrono test . They then tagged and locked off his regulator saying all ok ?
Didn't see any other BBS there to chrono with tbh . I took a empty mag and full mag with desired BBS using that day and they just used that one .

But the marshel / owner gave a ruling then changed it to suite his bb?
The farest way would have he had problem with my mates gun was to chrono all his mags to see that he was running the same weight and FPS ?  Not chuck a heavier BB in to say it's over ?
I am not arguing about site rules etc . It was all explained in briefing etc . But my mate did it all according to them rules ..
Tbh it's a lesson learned . I have been to a site where they chrono my DMr on .2 and they said I can turn it up as running lo . And I have told them it's set for .45 and is at limit for joules ? Difernet rules for diferent sites ...

Wellll.... I approve of sites doing regular spot checks all through the day, using their own BBs, and heavy ones at that.

    But.

If they're going to do that, they need to be absolutely clear about it so that you can tune for it, and provide them at pre-game chrono as well.

Mugging people with a surprise weight is a cad's trick.  And it's a peculiar weight at that.  If they're really concerned about what over-volumed guns can creep up to by loading heavier BBs, they should be using 0.4g or even heavier.

Sounds like another site owner who has formed a muddled but adamant opinion, and now won't be swayed by reason or logic.  Sadly, there's no critical thinking test for running a site.

    [EDIT] Oh, this lot?  https://firstandonlyevents.co.uk/first-and-only-airsoft-rules/

I've ranted about that "actual" and "variance" utter gibberish before.  What a bizarrely over-complicated way of saying that they have a 1.1J limit for AEGs[*], but 1J for HPA.  And they explicitly say "All our Chronographs are measured with 0.2g ASG bbs", so why would you tune for anything else?

[*] Also, they don't seem to know that 350fps on 0.2g is 1.13J or 1.14J, not 1.1J, so it's not even clear which figure they'd use.

    I'm calling Dunning-Kruger on that.

Interesting; there is nothing on their website about chronoing with anything other than 0.20g BBs.

If your friend was using 0.25g and was under the limit with them, that should have been enough to meet the site's requirement.  Testing on heavier BBs and failing him when they took the power over the limit is ridiculous and unfair.

I am not sure if this is common across sites in general but, at the woodland ones where I play, there has been a significant reduction in the number of DMRs.  I am not sure why this is but, on talking to a few players who have stopped using a DMR, a common factor seems to be that, given the limited lines of sight at woodland sites, there is little or no advantage to running a DMR against well tuned weapons running 0.30g+ BBs at 1.05J with, for example, a Maple Leaf Macaron rubber and Omega nub with no MED and full auto.

I had a hot and sweaty day at Tower Airsoft in Essex.  This was one of the days run by Camo, who always put on a great day of airsoft with solid but relaxed marshalling and games that make good use of the site and its structures.

I went on my own today as my second eldest is away having far too much fun in MTP, some of which involved an L129A1 and a GPMG.  I am not at all jealous (honest!), but it was quite scary to think that my first shots with a GPMG were 40 years ago; where did the years go?  However, the site had its usual quite large number of experienced and sensible players and I had a great day sneaking around the site turning up where I was not expected to be:).

Unfortunately, the heat seemed to get to people and both numbers and energy levels dropped off a bit during the afternoon, which was not really surprising.  However, the games were still good, just slower.

Overall, another very good day at Tower; many thanks to the Airsoft Plantation and Camo guys, the players and the catering staff, who had a good supply of ice lollies.
