  1. Politicians and the public will think what they want, seeing airsoft next to what is available on the civilian market in the UK won't really make an impact. They already think we're all evil lunatics who bathe in childrens tears. The point I was making is that rather than fighting essentially the same argument (guns are bad m'kay) as two separate groups, we fight the same argument as a single voice. Many members of the public see shotguns as something people in tweed use to hunt gamebirds and claybusting as something they 'might like to try one day' but don't really care beyond that. What we do, by dressing in camo and running around using full-auto weapons and using real-world tactics? To most people, the claybusting is less likely to harbour lunatics/terrorists/whatever Excellent Ad Hominem, allow me to ask permission to add 'you're probably, like, 12' to my excellent list of internet comebacks. 'I shoot proper stuff' was added to show I use and understand both sides of this current topic. The real point I was trying to make was that the skills are mutually beneficial to each other and mostly transferable. Ahh, the good ol' appeal to authority. Now, don't get me wrong, if you were/are serving military I have respect for what you do. However, I deal far too often with service personnel who 'know it all' and then immediately pick up a gun, finger on trigger and point it at me. Great, cheers for that. Regardless of you being military/police or 'just a civi' You're just as squishy to a bullet from a firearm as me and your eyes are just as squishy to a BB.
  2. 1. They've been kept very seperate the last 3 years (usually the airguns between the two areas) 2. Most people there can tell the difference pretty quickly whether it's real or not 3. Anything firearm shaped IS a firearm and ALL firearms are ALWAYS loaded. There should be no difference in your handling of airsoft or live firearms. Particularly at a gunshow. 4. I shoot propper stuff and airsoft, my airsofting improves my mini rifle and my .308 improves my sniping. clay shooting helps my practical shotgun. All are fun and All are safe. We I want to be as far away from that as possible. 5. Why? We're all the same as far as politicians and the general public are concerned. The more we stick together and shout the same stuff the more we'll be heard.
  3. Because of... reasons? Also, pics or it didn't happen.
  4. The gearbox case lines up with the hop unit and isn't at an awkward angle or anything?
  5. Check compression through the piston and cylinder to air nozzle. in a proper setup slowly but firmly pushing the piston forward should seal the piston against the cylinder. Is the Pro-win mounted against the gearbox nice n tight? FPS variation could be an air leak or signs or pre-engagement. What BB are you using? Barrel? Hop rubber a good one and not got any wear?
  6. that's a huge variation in fps. Should be (with a mean of 290) 285-295fps make sure AOE is right and the second tooth is removed Make sure the tappet is moving freely and the return spring is good enough. and by double feeding, you mean that for one cycle of the gearbox (one audible pop sound) two BBs exit the barrel or one pull on semi cycles the gearbox twice, becuase people still seem to be convinced it's an overspin issue (although I doubt it personally.)
  7. Shouldn't overspin with an ASCU in it unless you've turned the active brake off Would probably say short stroking is the way forward. You don't need to delay the tappet, you're already getting too many BBs as is What is power like? is the right nozzle fitted? Is power level stable (within 10fps shot to shot), and the same as on semi, when in full auto?
  8. assuming this (this being height from floor increases accuracy) is the case then it should be easy to test. What happens when kneeling? Is there a cut-off point where groupings suddenly decrease rapidly? Failing that, there's always a squishy bit behind the gun that's usually responsible for poor shooting results
  9. In order of most important to least: Eye Protection (and lower face if required/wanted) Gun Spare magazine x300 round capacity (3x midcaps or 1 hicap) *Large gap where things become subjective after this* Sight/aiming device More spare mags Dump Pouch Speedloader full of BBs/BB bottle Sidearm Holster Mags for sidearm Somewhere to put the mags beyond your pocket *another large gap* Anything in multicam or with 'admin', 'utility' or 'large' in the name
  10. Guarder glock slides are pretty consistently shite. Buy the WE-tech version built for the WE pistol instead.
  11. OK, so I know I said not to feed the troll. But I said a two tone would look better, and it does. Also added shades 'cause cool guys wear shades, a trump 2016 pin and little sparkly swastikas for effect.
  12. and even then you should ignore it. I'll be honest, slightly disapointed it's not a two tone CM16. I think that would have really made the loadout special
  13. G&G SR25 is good, whack an M120 in and you're away Ares SR25 is a nice bit of kit too, quick change gearbox and the EFCS from the amoeba series. Bit more money though. The Krytac SPR isn't really a DMR per say, just a long AR. I mean, put an m120 in and you should be golden, but it doesn't look like a DMR without a .308 size mag. The HK G28 is awesome, bang on out of the box, just a LOT of money.
  14. Never said it was a reason to PC game, just not that console peasantry Just play insurgency and naff everything else off, always in for a good game!
  15. Fine mate, they're no Lowas but I've ALWAYS been impressed with Karrimor footwear, particularly at that price. May leak a little in wet weather, but that's what Sealskin socks are for!
  16. Boots, got a pair of soloman 4D GTX I've used for about 4 years now. I'd NEVER suggest trainer height boots unless an existing medical condition means you can have anything with ankle support. If you want a specific loadout, you need boots to fit. If you just like playing with no fussing about, then get a decent pair of hiking boots
  17. 7.4s are fine in everything, comparable(ish) to a 9.6V NiMh. 11.1 are the next size up (3 cells instead of 2) and are what power most 'brrrt guns' these are what you want to be careful with putting in a stock gearbox.
  18. Yeha, 5 year old NiMhs (or NiCd if they were well used when you gave up D: ) will just want replacing, they're about £10-15 each so not mega bucks, or swap over to the greatly superior LiPos
  19. depends what brand they are, tbh. Decent stuff tends to be fine left alone, cheaper chinese gear will likely want a new Piston head Oring and hop rubber. As Mos said, shoot them first and see what happens. If you can, get them chrono'd, most airsoft shops or all sites will be able to do this for you.
  20. On an M14, you can just remove the selector components to lock it. To prevent jamming, use a big battery (11.1V Lipo or similar) and make sure you follow through with shots, keeping the trigger pulled until the gearbox stops
  21. *better click on here and make sure there's no moderating to be done* You fuckers, now I want some pineapple. And it's 1AM, where the hell do you get pineapple at 1AM
  22. Looking at the states for Firearm Ownership is GOOD. Looking at the states for social aspects.... less so. TBH, I think Ian nailed the social thing pretty well. To take this away from CC and Self defence, what about private ownership for sporting/collecting/hooraygiggleswitchisfun reasons?
  23. TM Tend not to, most other companies fit them from the factory. You CAN buy them, but I don't bother, it has not negative effect beyond being louder
  24. Do you mean the one in the middle of the valve or on the outside that rests between the valve metal and metal on the gas tin?
