  1. That's an uber idea - you could mix the two also - lead shot (fishing line split shot) mixed with plasticine...
  2. If the ASG is a clone of the A&K (which most of 'em seem to be) then it's cheaper than most to get up to skirmishable standards, but there are some essentials that you need before even bothering, IMO, even though it should reach about 440FPS OOTB. The stock hop unit is such a ball ache - it needs a hex key into the top to adjust, which means the top cover has to be off. The advanced one from airsoftpro.cz is easy to fit and works like a G36 type but a bit more precise, so you can adjust it simply by drawing back the bolt catch (although that is also cocking it, so if you let it return forward after cocking, then "open the chamber" to adjust the hop, you'll have put a 2nd BB into the hop unit - you need to cock then hold the bolt to adjust the hop, then let the bolt catch go). Also the bolt catch is quite small to pull an M150 spring back - with one, maybe one & a half fingers, so you need to buy the extended handle - here it is with a good pile of bits of varying necessity. You can get most of it from Daz on ASPUK too, but not as cheaply. Even so it's a fair drag to cock... I put in a Madbull Ultimate 590 x 6.01mm TBB which upped the FPS to around 540, which meant I could drop the spring to an Element M135 to come in at around 492 with 0.2g BB's - ppl say you can fit a 650mm barrel in them, but that puts the inner barrel well into the flash hider. visible through the slots, besides doing so may well make it difficult to acheive top FPS without going over 500, so you'd have to drop to a M130 and lose 10-15FPS, down to maybe 385... anyhoo, it's a lot easier to use like this. Edit: in reply to Remus above, doh!
  3. If you want your mid caps heavier, there is a fair bit of space inside 'em that you could put lead in - B&Q lead flashing, or better yet, get it from a scrap yard.
  4. I love the frogman concept, but, and don't take this as heavy criticism, is that a hoover?
  5. I've got a shovel that needs operating. I'm sure we can find a pile of shit somewhere...
  6. I don't want a kevlar helmet, Russ. I've got 2 and one of them I CBA to fix up
  7. Errrrrrrr-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer-urgh! (that's a klaxon) Alert! No such thing! Alert! Read the UK Law forum! Alert! Don't even attempt to justify getting it wrong with "it doesn't matter", because it really really does! Alert!
  8. Well, it's 'kin tempting. I mean I'd love the Sten for the lolz whatever and I'd wear the smock as a casual jacket, so there's no real downside except the slow it would put on all my other projects... I'll have to see how I feel come the 21st when I next have money.
  9. Yeah and if you can get a MK2 para helmet for less than £100, please let me know, eh?
  10. A MK6 is quite a bit bigger, even though the shape is pretty similar. You could probably bleach the strap of a MK6 down to something similar enough to khaki as only complete bell-ends would make an issue of it and they are available for refurb jobs on their own (but the place I was going to get one from has run out lol). Fallshirmjager just means paratrooper in German - so yeah, a Denison smock is a paratrooper's jacket/jacker...
  11. I'm hoping to see some shock cord or velcro make an appearance, mate, or I'm predicting some very irritating walks with eyes to the ground in your near future...
  12. Mr_B that scope listing is some kind of bollocks - there are at least 2 that i've seen saying "last one!" for that scope from the same seller and the same thing with the 50mm objective lens ones also. Just be aware that they're not cheap because they're end of line stock, they're cheap b/c they were made in China cheaply - which doesn't mean they are shite by any means, but may, and that's only may, mean that the tube is not a dry nitrogen atmosphere (which prevents internal fogging) and/or that the mount ring clamps may not be robust enough to put the kind of torque on there that prevents loss of zero (but you can Loctite 'em apparently - personally I need to try this on some cheap mount rings of mine).
  13. You know my opinion of Glocks, James, but I have to say that I wouldn't be ashamed to holster yours... even though it would be more like awkwardly holding a musical instrument than a pistol in my fist.
  14. I'm adding this as a separate post so it will go out as a new notification: I must add that some of Ed's vid's, IMO, have tipped into "semi-pro" as opposed to "amateur" and although that holds them to a higher standard of criticism, if any of you are actually following my opinion, you should know that when I say that something is "good amateur" it is implicit that I forgive faults which are not present in even "poor semi-pro", so when I'm talking about Ed's YT it's a case of, unless I point out that something is bad, assume it's broadcast quality. NB And yeah, that may sound arrogant, and maybe it is, but yes I am the arbiter of cool
  15. Apart from the yankiness, i didn't think it was that bad for an amateur cut. The bg was well chosen b/c it wasn't too busy so it could be relatively loud without obscuring the consonants (and thus intelligibility) of speech and for constant rise of energy you cant go far wrong with watered down anthemic trance. The font and central placement of comms subtitles pissed me right off, but the placement of "HIT" worked well and tbf until we have access to cameras that can resolve BB's from muzzle to target, we are always going to need some kind of visually relevant hit event or any skirmish makes little sense. The split/windows bit was a pants cut decision but thankfully brief. That really should only be used as a precursor to a sub-climax which needs help to be impressive, so promise, promise, break, let the energy fall by going to split/windows... bang! jump back in with the less than great event, quick move on to the next bit before anyone notices that it wasn't that good... Thing is, to do this well, you really have to change your whole perspective, but once you do, your innocence is gone; you never see/hear any media as just an audience member ever again. It's like a famous sample from a big choon back in the day: "we are music makers, we are the dreamers of the dream..." ...but we're not the people getting off in it. Would I watch this vid again? No - it is amateur, but mainly b/c it's soooooooo yank. Still, would I voluntarily listen to Abba? No - but their stuff is fantastically produced, amazingly well conceived and brilliantly written to suit its conception... I can and do understand tricks of the trade and use them in exactly the same way... I just fucking hate them lol!
  16. Mate, I burned my bridges with credit cards when i was @uni - my attitude was "If you're daft enough to lend it to me, i'll spend it... oh, you want it back? Yeah, sure, the thing is you didn't read the small print*". Although... I have recently finally got around to spanking £300 on a new washer/dryer through an entirely new source of credit - thank you very.co.uk - which does give my monster overdraft a slight amount of wiggle room - but i dunno about a oner's worth... If it's still going by the 21st, that'll be a different story *i. I don't give a flying fuck. ii. You cannot intimidate me with threats of court action A. I've been there before & B. but not limited to, I've worked in auctions so I know it'll cost you more to send the bailiffs in than you'll get for the stuff. iii. I am not ashamed of being in debt. iv. Even if (iii) were the case, it's not my fault that the economy is built on the idea that a debt is an asset and therefore he who has least actually has most, but not really. Obviously this will all come to a sticky end soon, so I'll have my slice of the emperor's new cake and spunk it however I see fit: just call it A. my bonus, B. my golden parachute, C. my birthday present. v. With particular reference to (i), no seriously, I really don't give a flying fuck.
  17. 90Kg? Eeeeeeeeeeeeee when i were a lad....... wait til yer get to my age! Fuck off the lot o' yers, with yer fucking metabolisms and yer fidgeting yer fucking calories away... ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr V^^V oh btw i'm in a bad mood
  18. Yeah, if Ed was on the list I'd vote for him, but he isn't. I know it takes a lot more knowledge and some more kit would help, but I'd enjoy airsoft vids a lot more if we got overlays of the map, pauses to explain by quick cuts to the map, a cast of characters in the beginning and plenty more of the graphic stuff Ed has been doing - but with graphics for directions of friendly fire/friendly movement vs opfor fire/movement / zooms - all that good stuff
  19. I love that gun. I' so jealous. If I'd known I could've got a repro for that price, i'd have been walking around in one for a day-to-day for yonks!
  20. Good point that. Someone might know who they are IRL though... they may start up under the same name / different url...
  21. Ah, but you know what he has got going for him which trumps all other considerations? He's not a fucking yank.
  22. Then vote for him: http://playerschoice.popularairsoft.com/
  23. 'Kin right. What is it with yanks and customs declarations, eh? You're not planning on wearing it in a combat zone, so clearly it's a toy. End of.
