  1. Ahhhh, watch this space... one of my AK's, either Morena or one I'm building from parts, is going all post-apocalyptic. I had a feeling an Elcan would look uber on an AK-74 or newer yonks ago, but it just took me this long to get the money free and clear matched up with one for sale, because realistically I was unlikely to cough up £105 for a new one. Strangely though, over the last month or so I've seen a few, one cheaper than I paid for this. Has a game that features an Elcan bombed badly or something...?
  2. Yeah, that's pretty much it, lol! Busted!
  3. Actually the HFC HG-106 isn't half as bad as it looks like it will be once you see it f2f. It works with green gas for eg (although I don't hold the can pressed to it for long), but don't let that fool you because it's still a POS - it's just that when u see it close up it looks like it wont last 5mins... The 'mag' is prone to popping out which spills BB's b/c the spring only latches until it's pushed all the way in and is then loose. This is ameliorable (it's a fucking word NOW) with LX tape. It is pretty low powered too (& GSM only knows how bad it would be with weaker gas), although it is potentially useful as a last ditch weapon at close range, especially if you use 0.12g BB's. But it's a crap shape for any kind of quick draw. The only unabashedly good thing I have to say about it is that it fits into a Pistola Makarova holster perfectly and stops it looking like wanky cosplay...
  4. So, as is my want, I can't remember where i'm up to in this thread with stuff i've bought and only just received and i just cba to go back and look... so: I think i remember mentioning an Elcan replica? Arrived today with a scuff during postage, but it's just cosmetic. The seller wrapped it in plenty of bubble wrap too so fuck knows what the posties actually did to it! ANyhoo that is now attached to an ICS side fitted scope mount which i got for less than 1/2 rrp on fleabay and fitted on Morena my new CM.048 AK-74 and reprezent da boss of looking for trouble (excuse me, don't know what happened there) Black nylon MP9 drop leg holster - as a modern alternative for my Vz61 Skorpion. A whole bunch of used ak parts from 2 fb contacts, nice and cheap, because the way my projects are coming together, i'm going to be left with a fair bit of ak-ness left over so may as well stick it all together as a gun to sell. Pair of British army surplus brown Altbergs - turned out to be in pretty bad shape, but the bloke has agreed to a spanker of a refund, so that's ok, but i'll only get this summer out of 'em before i'll want some new boots to go with my putative modern-ish NATO loadout.
  5. Morena gets her new (to her) Elcan, woohoo!
  6. ^^Love the Star Wars flash hider, PT If you're not into it, can i have 1st dibs on buying it off you?
  7. Sounds like she's the woman for the job! Could become a decent sideline for her too. I'll never have enough money to do that event as well as my other airsoft plans. Naturally I'll want to see pics though
  8. If you can find someone in HK/China who makes the fabric you want your battle dress made from, these people will make it to order for you - you'll just have to tell them what size the buttons are so they can make the button holes right and sew vintage ones on once it arrives.
  9. It's simple, Russ. Wool fuck's you up all the time. Denim merely pisses you off and only when it's wet.
  10. A TBB will boost FPS but generally speaking it wont improve accuracy. An upgrade hop unit like this will improve accuracy and if you get an H-nub with, as above, a Prometheus Purple soft rubber, it will be a lot better. An even better choice of nub is the ASPUK or RA-Tech type. From the sounds of it, barrel instability may be contributing, because your shots are going left and right. But something else to check with that is what BB's are you using?
  11. Well, the Varmint version is a budget solution according to Warren. There probably are other more expensive options. I dread to think
  12. Yeah and I have a steel tube which could probably go inside it as a barrel too, but @£5 a pop I'm not so sure. I can well imagine me constantly thinking "I could get him with the LAW but is it worth it for a fiver? Maybe I can keep his head down with way less than half a bottle of BB's and save the LAW 'til I'm sure of getting loads of 'em..." which is all well and good if I wanted to wear pips on my jacket instead of a stripe, but a. I don't and b. I'm just trying to have a laugh, not simulate real battle cost analyses!
  13. Yeah, he asked me for all that gubbins too - I gave him Skirmish' contact deets and told him to ask them if he really wanted to know. Motar probs will turn out to be less of a ball ache in the end
  14. I'm thinking that the simplest way for me to proceed may be to make a closing breech, like a cork with bayonet fittings like a lightbulb and a fixed firing pin attached in the centre. Then some kind of lever to push the whole moscart back onto the pin to fire it. If you can dig that link out, I wouldn't mind a look. Even in French it may spark off an idea or three...
  15. Ah, I didn't know that, mate. Sorry
  16. Yeah, but I haven't been at home for yonks so I've asked him to hang on to it so it doesn't go back and forth in the post as much. Back soon tho
  17. After that status, Sam, I'm not surprised, but I thought it'd be 9 months yet...
  18. I'm thinking that a CO2 moscart might be the way forward. Maybe driving a piston rather than the gas pushing the missile directly.
  19. Yeah, those stens are still going for a oner. It's sooooooo tempting. But I'm in negotiations with a Russian bloke to get a complete all season afganka that will actually fit me properly and that's probably going to rush me one and a half... but it is the outer jacket and trousers which are for summer on there own and the quilted liners, with fur collar, plus the lot tailored, so if the deal comes together I won't feel spanked so much as wallet-shy for a while. Shame because I could proper go for a loadout like yours, Russ, or an RM Commando one. Actually a Maquis loadout would be a lot of fun too.
  20. Give us a linky for those missiles, please mate. I've recently bought a model LAW from another member on here and I plan to make it skirmishable eventually.
  21. Yeah, if you want to do it justice you'll need a P90, a MICH 2000, and a tan 6094... Oh yeah, and a tan glock in a horizontal chest mounted serpa.
