  1. Let's be fair though, nothing is actually going to happen to the rifle. It's just that it would be issued with a different optic. As it stands, if a Colonel makes a good enough case for his/(are there any hers?) regiment to be issued particular optics and mounts, hey presto... if they're in stock somewhere, we've got a new topic for aficionados to get their knickers in a twist about
  2. Yeah, civilians were hit and iirc killed in Northern Ireland by 7.62x51mm penetrating through brick walls.
  3. Now That's What I Call Rewired. Such a joy to work on my CM.048
  4. just got pipped on fleabay for soviet gen 1+ nv rifle sight bumMER!

I lost out on a Brodie helmet, got home and logged onto ebay 1 minute after auction ended, it went for less than a tenner :(

Was only the shell but if I replaced the inner of my RAC helmet I would have a spare inner.

Some SADF webbing has come up and if I loose it I will be so annoyed! Doesn't help its ending midday while I'm busy and can't use my phone or computer!

  5. Yeah, no limits. But I think there is a soul to each of the factions - Delta do get most of the geirdos, The Others do get most of the nutters. Not sure on Bravo really: the DPM diehards maybe...?
  6. ^^Life imitates art The MOD have been reading airsoft forums!
  7. Motorola XTX446 Radio according to the seller they take 3 x AA batteries. They take a Motorola 2 pin plug for headsets though, so not compatible with Motorola Talkabout or XTR446 single 2.5mm TRS jack plug PTT's. Still, they have been going for less than £15 for a couple of months and at that price, for a new Motorola radio, having to get a new PTT for it isn't much of an issue.
  8. MOTOROLA XTX446 (not a typo) - £12.50 posted ~ fleabay The seller has a pile of these which have been going for less than £15 every few days for a couple of months. No battery: apparently they will take 3 x AA and Motorola 2 pin for audio accessories <- which is a pain in the arse, although I'm planning to go wireless for PTT so I would have had to buy a new one anyway. I'm tempted to to dismantle it and hardwire the PTT base unit to the handset with about 150mm of wire between them to cut down the spaghetti on my chest and, with the PTT transmit unit loose to attach to gun handguards, I should be tangle-free.
  9. ^^Oh yeah, AF-UK camp zone is a must. Dunno how I'm going to get there yet meself, but at this stage it feels a bit early to start worrying about it. There's always the train etc again if push comes to mental...
  10. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing you motley fucks again almost as much as I'm looking forward to those end-of-day mass battles Others for me too, Geoff. I've found my home Can't believe I let myself be talked into Delta 1st time I went! I was a proper spare prick at an MTP/MC wedding
  11. OMGonads! I haven't seen one of them since I was in the Cubs! I refused then as well! Even a nylon nightmare beats one of those buggers in the rain.
  12. ^^Mate, I've done it all the way there and back from Nottingham, via London St. Pancras and tube to Waterloo, on public transport, so I'm not seeing your problem... Carrying tent & everything in a bergen + rocket pouches inc MK6 helmet.
  13. 22-23-24 August 2014 Info Booking is open already! Whatever... If someone else doesn't do it first, I'll start a General Discussion thread nearer the time for all those wishing to go, meet up, etc. I plan on going again and hopefully AF-UK will be there in platoon strength... you never know
  14. Fleabay, Alex. Fleabay is your friend.
  15. Yeah, don't get me wrong Nutster, I too applaud the effort. It just wouldn't work around here, unless I kept my vests on stands on the fire escape...
  16. I put mine on coat hangers in my wardrobe. And my clothes on the floor I'm not even joking!
  17. It's just a myth. They just look bigger in comparison.
  18. Yeah Russ, having gone as far as you have, you need a Lee Enfield No.4 next. Deffo. The further from Nottingham, the more of a bugger a Sunday becomes for me. But I do want something to go away to in May. My soul has been set on that path for too long for the wanderlust of my trigger finger to be denied. Or something. Oops, almost forgot. I read that soldiers wrapped tape around both ends of the E-tool to keep it in the carrier, but i spose a pin will do until you scoot along on your arse or the like.
  19. Thought I'd make use of the way my doctors are yet again experimenting on me to get some authentic looking rough stylee Soviet gear pics, but I had to mess with them summat bad to get anything half recognisable and there's only this one worthy of showing. More for the lols than anything. I spose the background leaves posibilities...
  20. The entrenching tool handle looks great. Is it original or repro? My RD-54 backpack arrived this am. Good lard, it needs some repairing before it's skirmishable! Looks like its last owner was killed with a machete! Shit... just thought what i'd written then. Bloody hope not!
  21. It's going to be easy to spot camouflaged players this summer if they've got an M4. Just look for the Cyalume
  22. I'm not at all sold on the Orgus hype. The theory only just works in TK Hop Twist barrels and there's a vortex there. What Orgus cannot get around is the eff ay see tee FACT that the wider the barrel is, the wider the exit cone. End of. It may well be possible under certain conditions with certain BB's to get positive results, but snap firing under skirmish conditions, even well aimed fire into uncertain air conditions, humidity, barometric pressure, colon disposition, etc... I just don't see it. But thanks for the link - at twenty five bar for a 1 point sling, i'll make me own
  23. Did you do that, Chris? Please say you didn't?
  24. There's nothing wrong with most CYMA models out of the box - they just clank but they shoot better than a lot of more expensive guns!
  25. ^^You know what I'm developing as a policy toward CYMA internals, GK? Leave 'em alone. They're meant to be loose and noisy and coated in earwax - they work best that way. You put a TBB in there, you'll need a spring downgrade. The next thing, you'll be wiping all that earwax out and doing a nice shim job. Then you're going to check the compression and find it's shit. So you'll want a new O-ring, maybe a piston head. A new piston head on that nasty looking off-white plastic piston...? So that's a nice new SHS blue one. And that crappy no-O-ring air nozzle...? No way, man! What you want in there is a nice shiny ali one... going into the stock, who-knows-what-degree hop rubber...? Nah... gotta be a G&G Green at least, maybe a Prommy Purple for a marksman rifle... maybe get a new CNC hop unit to go with... And by then, if it's working as well as it did when it was stock, the noodly-appendaged god of airsoft is smiling on you... Edit: OOps, i almost forgot! Thanks for the info on the sling point. Have you got a linky?
