😆 Yeah I've got the Magpul, functionally I think it's the very best option going for the A5. Probably a bit bland looking these days but loads of battery room, comparatively not that pricey, as much M-LOK as you'll ever want and not bloody freezing in the winter. Mine took the tiniest bit of filing to a couple of corners internally to snap on perfectly, but they don't even always need that.
-
I dunno... bit of a vanilla, run-of-the-mill, pedestrian looking setup there tbh, you'll find most other people at your next game running the exact same kinda gun I'm afraid.

There's one final little piece I need for an AEG build that I've been working on for a good while and EB/W762 is the one and only shop that seems to sell what I need, but the site/s just time out when I try and visit. Been that way for a couple of weeks now, at least for me anyway so thought I'd check just in case. https://www.weapon762.com/triggers-and-trigger-guards/2179-bj-tac-g-style-trigger-guard-for-aeg.html A couple of other shops advertise the trigger guard I'm after and say it's 'GBB/AEG' except of course, as we know, AEG receivers are wider and (having already bought one to try) GBB trigger guards are way too thin and float aimlessly between the attachment points on the lower of an AEG. It's so not close it's almost comedic when you try it; the proverbial hotdog down the motorway.

Purchased as I wanted a replica of the HK steel mags used with the L85, but it's not quite an exact replica, so I never used it at all. Has some cool markings but the shape isn't quite right and it's like other STANAG 556 AEG midcaps in that it's a tad shorter than a real mag. No idea on capacity, at least 80 or so iirc. Please do check out my other ads, happy to do bulk discounts. Always open to offers on price. PayPal fees and UK 2nd class postage are included.£6.50

I'd pretty much call this New Old Stock. Wouldn't be surprised if it's been a decade now since G&P stopped making their nice line of proper Colt marked M4 AEGs that were such a staple around the 2006-12 period. This was the last one Fire-Support had in, and I've done a lot of searching and can say there's few if any G&P Colt ARs left in stock anywhere. I bought it for an M4A1 build project, but my local tech doesn't do G&Ps for some reason and I'm not interested in AEG internals, so I ended up with a scratch built M4 and this was never used. Wish I could keep it because the receiver set is beautiful and the outer barrel has military Colt markings that I literally cannot find anywhere on any other M4A1 AEG barrel now, but alas I've got no storage space for repeats or multiples. I plugged a 7.4 in to it, pulled the trigger maybe 3 times and can confirm it turns over just fine. Charged the old school, Surefire M500 style light handguard (incandescent bulb and everything, not even LED) and that works just fine also. After that just packaged it all right back up in to the original packaging as it came from F-S. It didn't leave my bedroom. Didn't chrono it but it'll be the energy level you'd expect from a gun of that era (definitely under 1.1J). Comes with it's metal USGI 30rnd style mid-cap, which fits possibly the best of any mag in any gun I've ever touched I'd have to say. Takes a good press to lock but it's not hard work to get in and out by any means; however there's not the slightest bit of rattle or wobble when seated (don't know if it's the same with other mags, but the supplied one is spot on). The one issue externals wise was the front receiver pin could just fall out when handling the gun, so I've upgraded the pins to the modern style with allen head bolts that cannot fall out - as per pic 2 inside the box. Price includes PP fees and UK delivery.£295

In 95% of cases the word upgraded should be regarded as if your wife said it, i.e. it doesn't actually mean what it's supposed to mean or what you think it means. It's not generally any individuals' fault, I personally blame retailers for mis-labelling their spare parts section as their 'upgrade' section.

They're also active retention if you can't abide the idea of passive, but then again passive is a faster draw. Edit quote - @Lozart"I have the same type of holster, the one piece of advice I would give is that while it has been generally good, just make sure that your Surefire clone fits the rail on your pistol properly. Last couple of times out using my TM M9A1 the torch has separated from the pistol rail and the pistol has come out of the holster while I was running. Currently looking at resurrecting my old Safariland clone for that one." After what happened at my last game I wonder a little if that might be a TM M9A1 issue specifically, the rail on that frame doesn't quite look like proper spec picatinny to me. -- Another learning point for me was attachment methods of pistol lights, which have become more pertinent and worth paying attention to in the age of holsters that purely grip the light. The X300/U is good but it doesn't clamp down exactly, whereas a lot of Streamlight designs have a screw running laterally that you can actually tighten. Given that airsoft rails have airsoft tolerances and clone versions of the X300 will as well, I think that's something people should pay attention to. There's nothing you can really do about it before you physically put the 2 items together, but worth checking before heading out the door.
-
Do you want to/can you spend £550 on holsters and have room to store them all? If no, easy decision. I've been using Blackhawk Omnivores that grip the lights for years, saved me a lot of money and space. I never buy a gun-specific holster unless said gun doesn't physically have an accessory rail. I've looked at the KC offerings too and I'd use one if I didn't already have enough holsters.

Help needed - Really want to start Airsoft BUT..
TheFull9 replied to WillMidz's topic in General Discussion
I'd say there's 2 reasons you see so many posts online about guns that broke super quick: 1. I'd bet that in 99%+ of the instances where somebody buys an AEG, goes to a game and the gun works, they don't say anything about it on the internet. Whereas if it breaks there's a strong likelihood they will say something (applies to all conceivable products). 2. People starting out unfortunately don't tend to really know which brands are good so they just buy 'the cool looking gun' (whatever that is in their mind) and some of the turd brands happen to be good at knowing how to design the aesthetics of their guns in order to sell lots of cheesey gearboxes e.g. Ares. Plus of course there's a possible newbie fudge factor with people jamming dropped-BBs in to mags or other random acts of RIF mis-use. Also crappy uber cheap BBs, mags and/or batteries can be huge contributors, just like bad ammo or mags with real firearms. -

It's a fairly close replica of a real double-stack 1911 that's gotten somewhat popular in the US thanks to various TFBTV videos, but I'd probably wager that specific airsoft version will have cheese internals and blowpipe spit ball range. Be alright for a non-skirmisher/safe queen if someone purely collects. Naturally now someone will drop in and say they have one that shoots lights out, but for £100 with all that metal you'll always roll the dice on a lemon, even if some examples are half decent. Doesn't make much sense as a skirmish purchase when the TM 4.3 exists though imho. -

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/sas-ii-ultralight-gas-blowback-airsoft-pistol/ ? Looks like an airsoft-gun-shaped red flag to me personally. -
You can 100% paint pen on any mag, but the matrix is a fairly prominent feature of the de facto global gold standard of 556 magazines - https://magpul.com/pmag-30-ar-m4-gen-m3.html?mp_global_color=118 Military customers want it, as do many civilian shooters; it's probably stipulated in some government contracts too I'd imagine. Just means the paint in the recesses basically won't ever rub off, or not for a very very long time. More longevity of marking even if the user is crawling around in middle eastern sand all day every day for months on end. Still a minor feature, but it essentially costs the exact same to manufacture each mag with or without the matrix, so for people who need markings that will last under rough handling they might as well include it. Obviously irrelevant for airsofters but then again of course so is 90% of what people buy for airsoft.

Tectonic Innovations / Extreme Airsoft - Any Issues?
TheFull9 replied to Burrelly's topic in Places to Buy
I'm not certain at all, but I think Tectonic might be a bloke who's notorious for being the worst businessman in airsoft. Has started and failed as many ventures as I've had hot dinners, often disappearing with people's money. Keith.. something, I believe. Someone here will have heard of his antics at some point. As I say I'm definitely not certain that Tectonic is this specific bloke, I just know the last thing he started up was a company making BFGs. The taking of money and not delivering product with all sorts of bs excuses about supply chain etc fit the MO of this person. -
More modded than made, and not me but @Anonymoose (absolutely top bloke). Outer barrel lathed; gas block mounting area cut down from a full M16 front sight length down to the compact block length for the Geissele style gas block. Little mill cut done on the top for the locating pin. Also drilled the bottom to add a slot for the locking spring pin, since neither of the original 6 o'clock slots in the barrel for the mil spec front sight pins lined up with the hole in the new block. Mag release button hole in a totally unknown blank AEG receiver set filed just slightly, now fits the BJ Tac Geissele mag release which EBA listed as AEG, but I reckon is probably GBB. I believe I've fitted a GBB mag release to my Krytac LVOA though so fingers crossed this will actually function correctly once the gearbox goes in.

What do you want to change? Presuming the carrier is Direct Action, got some WAS pouches up front there, can't actually get any better than that durability wise. Solid kit.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
TheFull9 replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Receiver set engraved by West Laser. 416 mag for the 416 I don't own. AEG parts because AEGs are totally in vogue right now and they're what everyone is talking about (Madbull buffer tube, 2 x G&P barrel nuts, old school TM lo-cap USGI style mag). Above is from MLE Mart. Website is pretty bad, but they went so far as to take the staple out of the packaging for the mag, wrapped it in bubble wrap then put it back inside. Well, someone did anyway, if it wasn't TM themselves I presume it was MLE. -

Anyone got a front wired TM Recoil AR? Need part NGM4-39 and of course there's not one to be had on planet earth. I drilled through the holes that the detent for the stock sits in, which was great when the gun was front wired as the stock locked up tight and the stock adjustment lever doesn't wobble, but now I've got exposed wiring under the buffer tube. Hoping somebody has a SOCOM and is open to a swap, will add cash!
