  1. UPDATE: Took it apart again and drove the pin out using a punch, it looks like it'll accept the guarder/JG replacement as the only CYMA one available is that abhorrent modern MLOK looking one off the platinum - cheers for the help @Hatchet Will update this thread when the guarder part arrives for reference if it fits or not - just in case somebody ends up stumbling on this thread looking for guidance like I was (considering how often the MP5 charging handles get cockslapped off by HK enthusiasts, I was suprised to find very little regarding replacing it)
  2. Gotcha, I mostly just lurk and post in other people's threads so I wasn't too sure where it should go. I'm pretty sure the mods have moved one of mine in the past though. Also I'll give it a little go with a pin-punch tomorrow, I just threw the thing back together for now and I can't be fucked opening it up again (even though it's really not hard whatsover honestly)
  3. Hi all, Recently picked up a lovely CYMA CM041 w/ a torch handguard, but unfortunately due to roller delayed related mind control I ended up fucking the charging handle that's within the cocking tube, I know: no way - I was going to order a replacement but thought I'd have a look beforehand so I could see if the guarder steel replacement would fit but I can't even get the thing out - any pointers? The grub screw/allen screw that's inside just either free-spins or doesn't fit a single one of my allens, and I've tried several different sizes. Am I doing something wrong or do I just need a hyper-specific key to fit it?
  4. Good idea, I'll give it some thought tomorrow if I can be bothered going through the misery of getting those pins in and out again Like mentioned in the OP, it's a little inconsistent at times as it'll underhop a 0.28 pretty obviously, and then you move it a micron and it'll start overhopping, hence the desire to change out the rubber - it tends to self adjust sometimes but in terms of feeding and reliability it's been pretty flawless. The in-built tracer unit seems to work pretty well too. I'm in two minds about just taking this barrel setup out all together, and keeping it as a 'night game' setup (as we're locked to 0.2g at our site's nightgames, so what's unhopping a 0.28 will probably work perfectly fine) and then throwing in a longer barrel and a rotary style hop for normal games so I can run my PBS-1 without ammo chipping/splitting inside it, although that'll cost a fortune and I'm still trying to justify paying near triple digits for a new stock as I'm not too big of a fan of the SLR one on the AK-74 (as it's fucking monolithic on the front length wise with such a tiny stock)
  5. Hi all, I recently picked up (financed the fuck out of) a CYMA Plat AK74 with the SLR rifleworks handguard and stock on it, and while it's been pretty dependable and honestly a lovely gun over the last 3 months of ownership (apart from it contracting selector-itis in last Sunday's outing, which is a shame but at the end of the day, it's an AK and they all do that eventually) I've been struggling with one particular aspect, that being the hop unit. It's some in-built tracer afair with your standard AK slide adjustment but it seems to either have 0.28s not hop at all, or end up hopping much higher than the point of aim and there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to place nice with some sort of inbetween so I've just had to adjust and re-zero to the fact that the hop's flying them upwards. So, after deciding to get my feet wet and order some stuff to do my first few rounds of hop changing and general ""tech work"" in the UTR I decided to grab a second for the AK in the hopes of fixing the aforementioned issue. A few stuborn knurled pins later and the unit's out, but CYMA have decided to glue/threadlock the hop plug and clip in so you can't get it off? Any pointers? I didn't want to start applying heat using a hairdryer or similar considering the board's there without at least asking around first. Thanks!
  6. Have you ever ordered anything rif flavoured from 18A? I've had my eyes on the E&C glocks as they're metal slide, have full trades and apparently have steel internals - and for the absolute pittance they are on 18A I was wondering if there's a catch - either tax isn't included in the price, or shipping is a pain, or there's some sort of customs charges etc Any info would be appreciated! Lots of good stuff on there but I've noticed as you add weight the shipping price goes up pretty steeply so multiple seperate orders might end up cheaper than one big one
  7. It's honestly incredible how every single teching session steadily goes from theraputic to requiring therapy yourself in the span of around 30 minutes, you'll have 90% of whatever you wanted to do done, get stuck with one tiny thing, get frustrated/order what you needed, and when you're closing your gun back up until said part comes or you can have the patience again something'll go wrong or a spring'll be a cunt and before you know it you're a shivering, sobbing mess losing your mind praying you'll never pick up a hexhead screwdriver ever again

Lovely stuff, where'd you source the RK-3 for the SLR-RW in the middle? After one myself but can't seem to find a single one in stock anywhere.

Also need to get around to getting mine done with an Aster, the fire selector's doing AK fire selector things and can't reliably shoot semi anymore which is a big dealbreaker with there being so much semi-auto at our site lol

    4. strykerles

      strykerles

Got the rk-3 from Sixmm, postage can take a while but had no problems with them. I only use semi so I set the selector setting to safe/semi/semi 🤣

  8. Yeah, Pete talks all the time on here about how ZCI's quality has been steadily dropping since they changed hands with the new barrels produced to a much worse quality, which is why he's personally stopped stocking new ZCI barrels on the site 6.00 looks scary but from what I've seen and heard they're really good, granted you won't be using shitty ammo anymore though lmao
  9. Could try an XT barrel from AK2M4, heard nothing but good things about them and I'm sure they do 363mm
  10. Hate to revive such an old thread, but how did you get your ZCI plastic hop to play nice? I just got your average macaron/zci plastic today (also from AK2M4 lol) and while I've managed to test perfectly fine and get good results, I can't get anything in when it comes to full assembly. Even with just the two metal rods that guide the UTR branded bolt (with no springs, nor the bolt) it prevents me from getting it in as it's getting stuck on something, even after pushing the hop into place like you mentioned. Did you do some fitment?
  11. Special ordering some VFC parts to fix my fucked USP and turns out the crystal clear P8A1 .pdf diagram and the extremely low resolution USP image of it's diagram don't have the same part numbers in the grip assembly, which means after three weeks of waiting for them to arive I've ended up telling them to order the wrong parts. Oopsie doodles, time to wait a little longer :(

  12. Me and a friend went halves on a second-hand Co2 converted Galaxy M82 barrett a while ago and didn't have a chrono at the time as we were pretty new to the sport - imagine our suprise when it decided to shoot 3.6J on the first shot when we borrowed a chrono to test it at our site's range lmao - it calmed down after around 15 or so shots to normal "bolt-action" power which made it quite a pain in the ass to field which is why it sits in a bag in a cupboard somewhere 😗 - it was still such a good deal that we're not upset about it lol
  13. A good reminder is that if you find things on TWG that aren't on PB's website for whatever reason, they can special order them for you if you go through the email process ([email protected]), was how I got the DE UTR-45 specific 8fields pouches for my setup. TWG can also get you certain weird parts that you can't find anywhere for certain manufacturers (in my case, a replacement mag paddle release spring for my Double Eagle UTR-45) although it was a quite the battle (23 emails) it ended up coming through on the end. And they might have forgotten to charge me the 4 euro or whatever they wanted for them. Oopsie doodles!
  14. I ordered the torch back on the 19th of Jan and it was at the door by the 25th of Jan, so around six days give or take. Some items have crazy delivery estimates to cover their own arses apparently (as the holy warrior EXPS3 had a delivery estimate of the 30th of april and just randomly showed up unannounced two days ago lol) so I'd give it a pretty good chance of you getting it in time.
  15. Few bits from the land of quality over at Aliexpress came the other day. Holy Warrior S1 EXPS3 and the little fake Zenitco RP-1s (I bought another two for a mate because they were like £1.30 a go compared to the £20 we'd have to pay for the LCT ones over here), honestly super impressed with the HW and it's now the highest quality optic I own, which might be saying a lot but hey: We're getting there! Nothing more fun than slowly building your dream rifle piece by painstaking piece.. (and waiting multiple months for single parts to randomly show up lol)
  16. Just had my Holy Warrior S1 randomly turn up today despite claiming that it was going to be delivered on the 29th of April at the earliest

Love me some Aliexpress, shame they can't show parts in the searches anymore tho

I think Ali just does this every time (or at least the couple of times I've used them), they deliberately massively over-estimate shipping duration to cover their butts.

  17. Hi, Me and a mate recently picked up a Jefftron equipped AEG off a gent on here, and after fucking around with it for a while (seriously, why do you need a password for your gun lmfao) we managed to get it working apart from a few niggles with the selector - with it not being able to pick up the stickers on the plate to indicate what firing mode it's in (it thinks all three positions are safe) So, we go and look on Jefftron's website and fresh new stickers are available for a few quid - perfect, we think; only to realise that due to our fellow countrymen a few years back they no longer do UK shipping and instead require a £50 worldwide option for a set of 3 quid stickers. So, any ideas or pointers? Willing to buy any leftover sets if anybody has them spare from their unit...
  18. Any reccomendations for G36 mid-caps? My JG high caps I bought keep skipping ammo in firing with my particular G36 and I'm tired of being as much of a human maraca - I bought one of the Novritsch SSR63 A1 mags just to try and while they require a little knock to get in they feed way better, just I can't be fucked having a nightmare with customs and having to pay so much shipping for just a few mags. Any ideas for alternatives?

      JinxDuh

I've personally never had an issue with the battleaxe G36 mid caps. They fit & feed flawlessly in my JG, Specna and Cyma. They're a little bit of a pain with the S&T in terms of locking in as easily but do still lock in. The other bonus is they're dirt cheap!

  19. Had a friend's AUG barrel-release button ping off somewhere in it's last outing - anybody know where to source a replacement? It's a snow wolf SW-020 and from what I can tell it'll take TM parts, but I've no idea where to source an exploded parts diagram to get the part ID let alone find a replacement. Any ideas?

I can always take mine off and measure it if someone can do a 3d print or something. Not ideal but Aug bits are few and far between!

@Egon_247with dimensions I could design and print a replacement.

Samoon will sell you one for the GHK AUG, which will probably be compatible.

  20. Airsoft's really kicking my ass lately. Last outing I had had my CYMA plat SR-25 die for no reason, alongside my DE UTR-45 [the SR-25 has randomly revived itself the other day but for how long i don't know, UTR still dead], then my WE G18c exploded it's internals and is now light-striking with the new steel replacement ones, and then today my VFC USP9 which has been rock-steady since I bought it as my first rif has shit the bed too - the fuck is going on? Lmao

  21. Handy bit of advice! Will keep this in mind when I eventually fall down the comms rabbithole [me and my mate just got our first comms, a set of Baofeng-888S which considering it was like 20-something quid; two units, two chargers and two sets of all the accessories plus a nice little.. poundland in-ear microphone each really isn't too bad!], PTT looks like an terrifying money pit and I dare not put a foot in that puddle just yet or I might end up homeless. Speaking of things I've bought - I decided to get brave and take down the fire-control group on my WE G18c that I bought off here second hand and promptly fixed, then modified, then restored to it's rightful status as a WE G18 (completely fucking broken lmao) and turns out the hammer wasn't a fan of.. full auto mag-dumping with an aftermarket +50% or so recoil spring. In 28 degree weather. Using red gas. Four times in quick succession. Turns out, these are supposed to be together... It might have been a little moment of weakness, but - my nephew thought it was the coolest thing ever! Steel replacements have been ordered for the entire hammer assembly alongside a new return spring (the old one decided to snap in half when I took a pair of pliers to it and embeded spring steel powder in my middle finger, wasn't the nicest!) alongside some of the annoying springs in-case they decide to ping off the bloody thing into outer space to never be witnessed by a human being ever again. Plus an enhanced nozzle to install when the green one either explodes from red-gas abuse or when I can be bothered. Now all I need is a BlackHawk for the thing but poor Klarna's been abused enough for one week. Amen. MOLLE grenade pouch also on the way for the little Novritsch gas refiller container thingy.
  22. True, I was really looking forward to a few videos of the insane DSG wankergun mentioned in the OP as I think they're just awesome showpieces to wow people with at the firing range (although it's a bit of a different story when you decide to shoot poor rental man dave and his little lad 120 times in two seconds, which I hope people don't unironically do with said wankerguns lol)
  23. Probably best day of airsoft I've had so far in the last year of playing - kneepads and an anti-fog unit + glasses insert for my goggles made playing so much better. Or, it was the best day of playing until two of my guns decided to go click and die of death for no reason... Go airsoft!!!! 🙃

  24. I grabbed the universal adapter as reccomended here the other day and while it's not perfect (the strap struggles a little with the extremely long UMP style magazines) it works well-enough, esp. compared to the agony of using shitty cheap speedloaders that get jammed every three seconds. I just wish there was a way to snap the mags in like how the M4 mags go in - that'd be perfect. Oh well - universal is good enough for now but I'll have to keep an eye out for a proper UTR-45 adapter as the platform gets more and more popular. Cheers for all the pointers lads
  25. Evening lads, I field a VFC USP9 as my primary sidearm but it's unfortunately a bit of an oddball (seriously, you search 'USP' and nothing but the HK45 or the MK23 comes up) meaning that 'upgrades' and parts in general are very scarce or non existent - however last month I decided to pick up a WE G18c and did some little bits to it while I was fixing the mags (was missing followers) and the modification that impressed me the most was the little RATech recoil spring and buffer set that was around 150% strength, as it overall just made the pew feel so much more responsive both in shooting and handling, with the much more positive slide racking being my favourite detail. Or, it was - until I got a little excited when my little nephew came round and I decided on the amazing idea of firing full-auto mag dumps with red gas in 28 degree weather which has completely fucked the thing. That cockup aside - this got me thinking - would a HK45 'enhanced recoil spring' be a drop in fit? Each GBB pistol on Eagle6 is specific to a certain model so I was just wondering what the differences were and if it'd be viable to pick up a set for a different pew to try it in the USP9. I'm not looking for insane performance gains or whatever - I just want the awesome feeling positive feedback of racking the slide and firing it that's present in my G18 (although my USP is the only one that actually works at the moment!) So yeah, if anybody else is a USP9 enthusiast who's done this to theirs, or has experience dealing with slightly uncommon variants of GBB pistols they field - do let me know
