@typefish, you've been asked this twice and have failed to answer. Can you please clarify whether members can attend tomorrow?

https://extremeairsoft.co.uk in Leicester is a 45-50 minute drive north of you, well worth a visit. They also have a CQB site, https://thedepartmentcqb.co.uk About 1h NW of you in Cannock, you've got https://jdairsoft.net -- or or about 1h westbound on the M6 / M6 Toll from Extreme Airsoft ๐ Not seen Patrol Base since they got revamped, but it's a good bit further north of you, up in Huddersfield (about half way between Leeds and Manchester) -- and that's a 2.5 - 3h drive.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread
TacticalWaifu replied to Mack's topic in General Discussion
Interestingly his location shows up as ABUBAKAR FAROOQ ARTS 21LG... and appears to run the business "Uk center Lahore Pakistan" with pics by a Sheikh Sanaullah in June... Nearby is the very legitimate "The Buisnes" music shop... The McDonald's is apparently in Moffat, but with a Warrington postcode and a mobile number... Then, between Maccy D's and The Buisnes we have... the "Piper Bravo" oil field -- which Gopinath Subramanian rated 5 out of 5 stars 9 months ago, saying "Terrible story". (It's a rig, not a field, and it's Alpha that had the disaster, but who am I to ruin such a rurally-located inland North Sea drilling platform...) Going back to so-called @Districktairsoft, his previous 2 listings said pick-up only in Croydon, including the Dave's Custom LCT which is now up in the new "bundle" ... which "would not disappoint" when listed in May, but now "currenly not working" but still somehow worth ยฃ1100... Fascinating stuff. ๐ฟ -

ยฃ150 pistol with a couple of cheap mods/accessories and "2 gas drums worth ยฃ300 alone" ๐ค๐ญ -
Time to get out the popcorn, methinks ๐ฟ Monumentally stupid though, and it risks putting more watchful eyes on the hobby / bringing legitimate airsofters into disrepute... ๐ค

Unsurprising that others are recommending them, TM tend to be the best in this regard, between realism and reliability, nothing else compares. If you fancied a bit of a change, Elite Force do a 1911 TAC CO2 -- it's actually made by KWC, but EF handle the licensing, packaging, QA, etc. Solid, and CO2 gives it a decent blowback/kick. Full-metal, the KWA M1911 NS2 P2P Mk IV works well - solid, gas-efficient, but a little pricey. Proprietary hop-up and bucking though, so you won't be swapping them out. KJW KP07 M1911 deserves a mention -- MEU 1911 features, but as it's TM-spec parts, there are lots of options for swapping out or upgrading things. Not technically a TM, but a reasonable specced option out of the box, without TM pricing. Narrator: "Having wanted reliability and finding nothing to compare, Skullchewer now has four TM pistols." ๐ Alas the KJW will be a clone of the Tokyo Marui, so -- while decent enough (albeit missing the branding) -- I fear I may be too TM-like for @Skullchewer

Some fields have a no-running rule, it's not universal. Additionally, while there is a lower power limit, there's also no MED. There tends to be no sprinting in CQB sites, but they tend to be tighter and smaller, so there's less "need," and more chance to get hurt -- plus Japanese airsofters tend to be focussed more on tactics, rather than rushing around. At the end of the day it generally has more manners -- cheating is rarer, there's not the fighting you see (especially in the US), there's just more honour and respect all-round, IME. More clear-cut and tactics-oriented than rule-bending and sprint-and-spray ๐

@Tackle have you considered adjusting your hop up and just firing at France? ๐

SO MUCH THIS. It's the regular folks that are the meat and veg of venues going, and keeping places running strong. I saw an (USian) airsoft YouTuber recently complaining about folk who'd turn up with fancy guns, and then beg to borrow play fees... like, my dude, if you can't afford to pay for yourself, why should I believe you'd be able to pay me back? Green fees are a weird one. I think some people don't like the idea of x chunk of change going on y amount of time running around, but venues still have bills, insurance, etc. to pay, so it's important - and ยฃ5 or ยฃ10 a game generally isn't going to cut it. If they could see their fee per hours of skirmishing, or per smile (cheesy, I know) they'd probably feel better about it -- but the Gucci gear folks would rather put the money towards a shiny toy, than the opportunity to have fun and actually use it ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Anywhere have a VFC Umarex G28 gbb In Stock?
TacticalWaifu replied to ragingviking's topic in Places to Buy
Google is your friend. A cursory search of the main dealers say no, but that's not surprising in the least -- it came out a good few years ago now, and there were only 300 made worldwide. Your best bet would be placing a Want ad on the forum, and keep checking the various airsoft selling sites/forums -
Not a lad, but I'll weigh in all the same As others have said, some places took a hit with the pandemic -- I'd imagine some folk sold up as lockdown went on (and on, and on...), others maybe fell out of love with it... numbers are still pretty good in a lot of places though! I don't think sites are struggling to find players too much, but obviously it can vary -- I've seen some places packed like sardines for one skirmish, and only have a handful of players the next. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I think cost of living counts for a lot now -- I know of one site at least which has basically tripled the price of its pyros, and removed member discounts on consumables and fees For sites, a lot of the worry is how they've managed to keep going financially during covid, and if/how they've managed to get player numbers back up afterwards. Think it can really depend where you are, though!

Absolutely the circumstances were atrocious -- but in a time where replicas can be identical to "real steel" variants without the lethality, and convincing effects for muzzle flash / projectile travel can be created without the risk to anyone else, why wouldn't you agree with it? Sure, catching some airsoft replicas might make you feel like there's a little less realism for a moment, but there are plenty "dummy" guns that did the job long before airsoft came along... Replicas and props aren'y anything new by a long shot, so what exactly are you against / in disagreement / uncertainty about? ๐คจ

For those who don't know: for some verification of online pics, people ask for you to write your name/username, today's date, etc. on a piece of paper, and scrunch it up before unfurling it and taking the photo -- the idea being that it's much harder to Photoshop or fake details on that, compared to someone holding up a flat piece of paper. Dude's obviously trying to get pics to he can post the image and make like they are "his" items to sell, most likely sending potential buyers sweet FA.

TL;DR: KC won a big Ukrainian defence contract, which is taking priority for the next month or so (early-mid July) - so until they finish the contract, other products may have up to a 5 week lead time. (Doesn't apply to stuff they already have in stock.) Majority of left-handed stuff and some other custom options are made to order, so will be subject to that 5-week lead time. @Titchiemagoo if you're worried, best bet would be to call/email them, and see where your order's at -- especially if it showed as in stock when you placed it: https://www.kydexcustomsuk.com/contact ๐

UKARA works because it's one of the few legal defences to allow retailers (or current RIF owners) to sell you a RIF. UKARA itself doesn't make any money AIUI, and actually incur their own costs for running the server with player registrations on, and ICO registration. Unsure if they pay the "professional individual" who handles "programming" (read: site admin), or the admin representative -- but they don't make any money from the Association existing. As for retailers, they can easily (and do) sell two-tone IFs, and/or accept non-UKARA defences when selling RIFs -- so plenty ways of making money from sales even if UKARA wasn't a thing.

That still doesn't address whether this "emergency" management meeting is somehow different to management meetings as per the Constitution, other than being impromptu -- and therefore doesn't answer whether or not members can attend, which they're "encouraged" to do with MM's?
-
Appreciate the update -- for those not in the know, you're David W., right? How are you differentiating between an "emergency management meeting" and an EGM or (minimum biannual) management meeting -- the latter of which "members are encouraged to attend" (ยง 6.1.5)? I appreciate this seems to be a bit of a rush job, but do you have any idea when an AGM may be called? I only ask because UKAPU haven't published any meeting agenda or minutes for 2022, and there doesn't appear to be anything listed for who was elected and when - which seems important, given current elected officers are the only ones allowed to vote at an MM? Thanks, ~TW

That's marginally concerning to say the least. Going off Constitution Draft 3.5 dated 2021-03-02 (the latest UKAPU have published): There are various points of order which the leadership of UKAPU seem to have failed to consider or keep to -- so rather than firing shots at every individual wrongdoing, I'm going to reiterate the only one that matters right now: This doesn't seem to have happened. You've certainly only made this forum aware with *less than 7 days notice,* much less 28 -- and the required written notice doesn't seem to have been given to members. Facebook: last updated November 4, 2022 Twitter: last updated March 4, 2019 (looking for a press officer, a position still vacant in mid 2023) Instagram: last updated February 18, 2021 Website: last "news" update: "Facebook announcement" (which never happened on Facebook), February 19, 2021. You've not informed the membership of the AGM, you've not given sufficient notice for the AGM, and you've certainly not given any notice to members concerning election of officers, or the opportunity to nominate members to stand as candidates prior to officer elections. Additionally, it doesn't appear officers were elected in 2018 or 2019, which was concerning, since they're supposed to be elected annually for a 1-year post... 2020 and 2021 seem to have been pretty much the same people being uncontested and voted unanimously, which is a concern given how badly basic communication and governance seem to be going (or not going) ๐ TL;DR: it's a shitshow. You're not even trying to follow your own Constitution, and haven't remotely given the membership notification, never mind adequate notification, of the AGM -- so the fact that you're suggesting it's going ahead in less than a week is a complete farce.

Not content with spamming this over airsoft subs and elsewhere, you need to spam on forums too? ๐ Your ad reeks of desperate Waltism, and sounds like a serious attempt at removing the fun of airsoft, to be volunteer squadron of elite *checks notes* people doing drills with toys*. I present a noble warrior for inclusion in your ranks - his bravery and selflessness know no bounds, as proven by him being awarded both the BSC and the SSC. * but with military precision!
