What, because it fits so well between the goalpost-sized gap where his teeth used to be? 😇

Imagine if a 24h game or a weekender was charged like the time-equivalent of cinema tickets... 😬😅 $$$$$$$ Which, according to YouTube, can also lead to horrible injuries... that haunt you forever online 🤣

Presuming it's open A1/A3 category, you basically just have to know https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code (now the Drone and Model Aircraft Code), and pass a 40-question multiple-choice exam online every few years. Operator ID (basically being the one legally responsible for the aircraft) is ~£10/year, Flyer ID (showing you're competent to fly) is free of charge, and means a retest every 5 years.

Hi, @Reef! 👋 Great to hear you had a blast! Absolutely appreciate you looking before asking the same things -- something that can be quite rate in these parts! Forum folks are friendly though, so if there's anything you're unsure of or hasn't been covered before, don't be afraid to ask Seeing how you do for a few skirmishes is the best way - some folk rush into buying a bunch of kit right away, then find after a while either that airsoft isn't really for them, or that the kit they grabbed initially, wasn't really what they ended up wanting to use. I'd say eye protection is probably the first and most important thing you need -- decent stuff (you don't want it to fail!), and a full-face mask for your son (a number of sites won't let u18's use less than full face pro). For you, I'd say some kind of lower mask or other face pro is also worthwhile -- while you don't want to lose your sight, you also don't want to risk losing your teeth! It's personal preferences but @Dan Robinson can let you know how "it'll never happen to me" can end 😅 PPE aside, decent footwear helps - whether you fancy combat boots or even just hiking/walking boots, generally something a little more supportive will serve you well. Pew-wise (if/when the time comes)... it's a bit of a trope for folk to rush in to get a sniper rifle, or decide a pistol will be all they need -- then later regret those choices. Plenty "what should my first gun be" etc. posts around ☺️ Thanks for a great first post, and welcome to AFUK! ~TW

Indeed. Additionally, @Pupa2794 you might want to read this thread:

@Skullchewer another fine "bargain" from Andy Page... little saving compared to brand new, but no guarantees or returns... and bank transfer or PayPal F&F 🤡😂 https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/brand-new-krytac-kriss-vector-submachine-gun-aeg-black_i48511 -

Eyepro is obviously mandatory for good reason -- but it's far too easy to think "doesn't matter" for lower face (read: teeth) pro ... until you get shot in the mouth 😬 Here's hoping for a relatively quick recovery and no giant dental bills in the future... and happy shopping for gumshield / lower mask! 🦷🛡️🔫 -

If they're not open to offers though, for example, and you decide you know best and offer as such, you can't really criticize them for getting shirty. You're free to make offers even if a seller hasn't said they're accepting them, but the sellers are equally free to respond as they like. Manners only take a moment, but it could be argued that unsolicited offers -- especially ones that don't relate to the price the seller is seeking for -- is also rude, however "right" you think you are. -
Indeed -- and some dual-use (not just defense) items can come under EAR and face similar restrictions -- technically things like camp gear and masks shouldn't happen, but it still happens now and then.

Depends on whether he wants stuff he can't get over here... plus I'd imagine the returning with it in luggage is to save for the losses felt on international shipping, duties, and taxes -- so "just buy online and get it posted" may be quite a bit more expensive in this case.

They literally say individual sites may have lower limits -- the only way to make this "simpler" website-wise would be to have all sites' individual limits listed, but that could be information overload for some folks. Saying that covers people who turn up thinking .48 is fine everywhere, then cry when they can't CQB with it. It's already simple. -

Yasss. I've just picked up a ridiculous 1980's Japanese single-shot Remington 870, and it is so much fun -

Wear as much 5.11 as you can afford to acquire, then ask if they have any wider seats as you waddle towards the jet bridge 😂

If you're referring to @BreadyC's keffiyeh remarks, specific meaning and history behind various pieces of headgear like that are significant and long-standing -- and while not common knowledge spread along UK shores, are absolutely in no way "revisionist bullshit" 🙄 -
If they decide (however inaccurately) to class them as "firearm parts," the FAA will require you to declare them at check-in and put them in your hold luggage. They may ask you to complete form 4457, which is basically just declaring the airsoft bits are actually airsoft bits. Replica firearms, including those classed as toys, also have to go in checked baggage, so you've already got that down 👍 Those points aside, the best bet is to check out the actual airline(s) you're flying with - as they basically all have their own policies on carrying RIFs and such. Provided their policies are followed, you shouldn't have any trouble -- and if you're asked at this end on your return (highly unlikely) you've presumably got UKARA registration or another suitable defense to give them 😊 TL;DR: you should be fine - double check what specific policies/requirements the airline(s) you're using may have, otherwise just stick in in the hold and don't joke about guns on board

They can be shit in a lot of ways, especially when they've done things like arbitrarily seized funds from charitable accounts, etc. -- and as a seller, sometimes it is work to try and help them see basic sense... but that little added layer of protection is important for buyers, sending as F&F is just a non-refundable direct deposit into someone's money pit, like a Faster Payments transfer straight into their bank account -- no chargebacks, no refunds, and no guarantees. For the sake of 30p and 2.9%, it's definitely better for a buyer's perspective -- and for a seller most of the time it's absolutely fine, and the biggest complaint is that the fee is taken to begin with. You'll always have folk who try and take advantage of the system, though 😞

I would imagine attempting to block or disrupt rail lines would inevitably end up resulting in a one under, followed by near-instant abandonment of that idea 😅 -
If it's just their own-brand "silicone lubricant" it should be fine
