  1. A (repro) Vortex Micro 3x scope, purchased today at the Essex Airsoft Boot Sale.
  2. On playing at Precinct 13, I've been of two minds of playing there. It's nothing to do with the "Drillgate" incident, I've seen a load of YouTube videos with a lack of tactical skill or planning being "made up for" by trigger spamming that may as well be full auto as well as pre-emptive firing. That's not for me.
  3. Unfortunately, he is to blame as well for going ahead with it and not knowing his own hardware. The owner had allegedly sunk a grand into his gun and tech work without learning so much as it having a QCS. The hole was drilled into the nozzle and it brought the gun down within the limit but the owner found that not only did his gun not fire inaccurately, swarf from driling the nozzle got into the gearbox so you can imagine the number that did. FAO's manager tried to downplay it saying he explained the purpose of drilling the hole and that the owner consented to it. He did compensate the owner for the cost of repairing his P90. No, I'm not that owner. I did all my own tech work on mine without a drill. 🤣
  4. Thankfully not. 😅 A player's gun was too hot for the chrono test so the site manager offered an unorthodox "solution" by drilling the nozzle of the said player's gun so it would fall within the joule limits. It could all have been solved with a quick-change spring swap out.
  5. As BigStew implied, gas consumption is a big variable with GBBRs compared to battery consumption in AEGs. Ambient temperatures will also affect how much gas you'll use, not just the individual GBBR you use and how trigger-happy you are with it.
  6. Well... shit. How many Vorsk and Raven Hi-Capas, Glocks and 1911s will we see flooding the classifieds and the other sites? 😅
  7. I actually prefer cold/mild temperatures in Autumn and Winter as long as it's not raining heavily. It's much more comfortable for me than in the baking heat of late Spring and Summer.
  8. That's a lot more honesty than one person we spotted recently on a couple of other airsoft classifieds who had been trying to deceive potential buyers into paying a lot more than his gear was actually worth. He became rather upset when some of us asked him for more info. Maybe he can take a leaf out of your book?
  9. You don't have to dictate Milton or Tolstoy but you could give us a bit more rope to help you. What's not working? A VPN, resetting your router or both? Is there a change in your IP address? There are 4 octets in the number punctuated by a decimal. Your broadband/WAN IP address is the one you need to pay attention to. If that stays the same with a router soft reset (turn it off and on), you may have a static IP or if only the last octet changes, you may have a limited dynamic address that an IP block could be set to cover. It may be worth trying a few free VPN apps on your phone. Not all VPNs work the same way as some may still show the same IP address even if they mask your physical location.
  10. You've got to love these expensive toys that function as normal but struggle to shoot consistently. The issue is so easy to repair that the seller hasn't done it himself to improve the resale value on his two-tone GBBR. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/37769-tokyo-marui-mk18-mod1-gbbr He also pulls the "hard to get" card but I find it this particular example of the Mk18 hard to want without full transparency on the problems with it.
  11. My thoughts too. I get the PTS AEG has that licensing premium and it has a high-torque motor but I don't see the benefit over a DE M904/M906 series AEG with a couple of upgrades at its price. There's no mention of a tight-bore barrel either so I assume the PTS AEG doesn't have one.
  12. It turns out I did get the pricing wrong. It's more of a rip-off than I thought as two people more eagle-eyed than myself called it out as a Golden Eagle brand of Mk 18. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/gas-powered_1/mk18-gas-blow-back-rifle_i77483
  13. What a bunch of killjoy jobsworths. Signed.
  14. Don't be so harsh on him. Can't you see the value is in the 5 magic bean CO2 capsules?!
  15. They were priced about the same until a new batch in late 2023/early 2024 from DE came in much cheaper.
  16. It's probably worth sharing an image of such a speedloader. I may well have seen one but not caught its name.
  17. Welcome! As Rogerborg alluded to, one of the biggest mistakes we see new players make is buying a two-tone either in the buzz of having done their first game or right at the start instead of doing a rental. For whatever reason they sell their two-tone starter pack, they usually struggle to resell. Especially if you're playing in woodland or sites with uneven changes in elevations or tripping hazards, boots with ankle support are a must.
  18. I have the Double Eagle version and reckon it's pretty decent. At the £40-50 price point, I think it's decent value now. It's only been fielded so many times but it's been reliable and taken a few knocks without anything breaking. The paint on the shell release lever and the front sling attachment ring does flake off quite easily if that sort of thing bothers you.
  19. I understand too why Mike is unable to announce the very sad news right now and Dan has relieved my caution. Damn, Ollie was open about the grim diagnosis and didn't expectations but it doesn't make hearing this easier. Having a decent chin wag with him at the Midlands Airsoft Fair and discovering we have somewhat similar professional backgrounds while nerding out about barrel and bucking combinations formed a bond quite quickly. I can only imagine how devastating this is for his closest friends and family. Ollie's not only raised awareness of bowel cancer but done the most extraordinary job helping unite airsoft communities and create new airsoft fans. Fighting it as bravely as he did is something I hope I can do if I had to battle a terminal illness. Rest easy, Ollie.
  20. Technically you can but run without an anti-reversal latch but I would never chance or recommend it for the reasons EDcase gave. Way too risky. It's like a spleen, you can live without yours but if you don't take antibiotics to compensate, expect a shorter life expectancy. With my Perun MOSFET, it explicitly states that active braking should be disabled when running it with a brushless motor. I assume the same would apply in your case.
  21. In his weak defence, ASG specifies a very low energy rating itself. https://actionsportgames.com/en-gb/productcatalog/products/guns/rifles/ds4-carbine My biggest issue is the seller's lack of openness that just because it is a plinker, that doesn't mean it's skirmishable. Some poor not so knowledgeable newbie may not understand they're not getting a bargain but being exploited. I guess it's the CYMA CM.507 but as you said, his item description is as helpful as a bunghole on your elbow.
  22. I want Angela Scanlon to deliver my next RIF purchases on a silver platter with her Irish charm. I want Sydney Sweeney to do my chrono tests and only mine at each skirmish I go to. In all seriousness, if you won't disclose who you work for or what you're getting out of what half-reads like a Chat GPT response, I don't think you should be surprised if there are sarcastic or suspicious replies. What is a "large airsoft company"? A site manager? A retailer? A distributor/reseller? What do you get out of this?
  23. Noise and keeping BBs within the boundaries of your property aren't the only concerns. The jaded git that I've become would think some busybody neighbours may get the wrong idea if they see you in your garden with what appears to be a real gun then report you without speaking to you first to clear any misunderstanding because of this culture of fear the media has driven the UK into.
